At Great Blue Heron House enjoy Eastern Shore living while visiting the Waterman's Town of Rock Hall.
Blue Heron restaurant is one block away and Carriage House - a delightful place to have weekend breakfasts during the summer - is across the street to the right! Go left and take a short stroll to the lovely, colonial restaurant of Osprey Point.
Walk two blocks to the town beach on the Bay. Swim in the Bay or sit and enjoy the views all the way to Annapolis! Enjoy gorgeous sunsets at the beach each evening!
Great Blue Heron House is next door to Blue Heron Park where many birds can be spotted. A marina is at the end of the quiet side street.
Take a sunset sail after a day at the beach. It is easy to reserve spots on a sailing charter that leaves from Waterman’s dock.
Explore the trails of Eastern Neck Wildlife Island or rent kayaks to enjoy being on the water.
Taste local, delicious steamed crabs either at one of the waterfront restaurants or on your back deck while you enjoy the scenery of the spacious yard!

Great place for the whole family

We come to Rock Hall every year and this is the best place we have stayed so far! Clean, well stocked, extremely kid friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Great yard!

We had our children and grandchildren come for the weekend. The yard is fantastic for children to play in! Also, there were many games available for the children to play. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The house is located within walking distance to the beach and town.

Family Getaway

This house was perfect for us. It is close to everything and easy to get around. They even had all the things we needed for our young daughter. We enjoyed our time in Maryland and would visit again.

Absolutely lovely place to stay!

A group of friends rented for a long weekend. The house was perfect! Beautifully decorated and comfortable. It feels like home. Kitchen is very well stocked. Bedding and towels were sooo soft. We are already picking dates to return next year.

Family getaway

The house was absolutely adorable. What a gem! We enjoyed it so much we stayed another day. The house is the perfect setting for getting together or if you like some alone time there's plenty of rooms to do that. Will definitely come back.

Great Blue Heron was the best stocked rental we’ve ever had. We always bring essentials just in case but there was no need to do so. There was plenty of room for the eight of us and we thoroughly loved our stay. Our grandkids played games in the spacious yard and want to come back to this house again.

Home Away from Home!

This property is a great location to the beach and restaurants. It was very comfortable, and each room was thoughtfully decorated. It was a home away from home, but you are on vacation. I loved the eat-in-kitchen to share a meal with our family. The living room had plenty of room so we can share drinks and conversaaion. The bedrooms were comfortable. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home.

Thank you, Justin. The “air conditioners in every room” are actually a mini split system that allows individuals to set the desired cooling or heat for each space in the house. If you return in the winter, those units are what will keep you cozy! 😊

Race Weekend

The house is in a great location right next to a protected marsh park. It provided us with daily sightings of deer (and a tiny fawn) and a multitude of birds as well. While on the main road it is not busy or noisy from traffic. The rooms are well appointed and the kitchen was well laid out with everything you would need and all in new condition. The house is a short 5 minute bike from downtown or the beach in town. A quick stroll can get you to the Muskrat Cafe for breakfast or lunch and afterwards keep waking through the marina at the end of the street to see some impressive boats and views of the bay.

Classic Beach Home

The owners have a lovely, older beach house which has clearly been renovated yet all the charm of an older home has been left in tact. The layout allowed for easy traffic flow for active children and less active adults. Bedrooms were quiet. The kitchen was very big and full of everything we needed. All the rooms were tastefully decorated and the entire house came well appointed. We have two concerns that should be addressed however. The AC units on breaker 5/3 kept shutting off. It made sleep uncomfortable our second night because the reset was on the electrical entrance on the side porch. The power to these units shut off every two hours which meant multiple trips downstairs at night to fix them. There is also an ant problem. Our last morning there we had to throw out food that had been stored on the counter because it was infested with tiny ants. It seems like an exterminator and an electrician could easily make these fixes and then the house would be superior in all respects! We're happy we rented it and definitely recommend it but the two concerns we have are big issues that should be fixed immediately.

Thank you, Jeanne, for your gracious review. We worked very hard to preserve the charm and to update the amenities of this wonderful home. Terminex treated the house for ants 2 days before your arrival. Ants are always an issue on the Eastern Shore, but this season has been particularly challenging. We have called Terminex to come again. The new air conditioning system was completed the week before your rental. We have contacted the installer and the electrician to review the issues you encountered. We are sorry for the inconveniences during your stay. Hopefully, if you come again, the ants will be diminished and the air conditioners will function correctly. Thank you for sharing our home.
