Lakewood Lodge - Marquette Log Cabin w/ Lake Views
Lakewood Lodge is a beautiful, spacious log cabin with four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Wake up to views of Lake Superior across the street (no lake/beach access) and start your day on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail for biking, walking, hiking, and snowmobiling. The trail can be accessed on foot through the backyard, and snowmobiles can access it about 30 seconds down the street. The trail continues along the shore of Lake Superior to downtown Marquette and beyond to Ishpeming.
Very nice home, we enjoyed our stay. Easy in/out and host communication. Convenient for spending a couple of days touring/visiting/biking around Marquette. Very comfortable, clean, and relaxing!
As always a great stay and a wonderful time in the UP. This is our second trip to this cabin and we love it. Very accommodating hosts and a really great location. Can't wait to come back again.
The property was very accommodating for our family. Great location and amazing view of the lake. Lakewood Lodge is a beautiful home. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable trip.
Lakewood Lodge is a nicely maintained cabin with views of the lake, and quiet neighborhood around Harvey MI. Close access to trails and Marquette made this a great location for a friend's meetup weekend.
Beautiful house near downtown Marquette. We loved the setting of the house, in a quiet wooded area with a view of the lake. There are several trails and waterfalls nearby. We would highly recommend this vacation home.
We had a wonderful mini reunion in Marquette and very much enjoyed our stay at the Lakewood Lodge. Ben was easy to contact and very responsive to my questions about check-in, etc. The home is a darling wood cabin style. It's very clean and comfortable. I would be happy to stay here again on a return trip to Marquette.
Beautiful log home located in a great location. This rental provided plenty of space for our group and was well stocked. The beds were very clean and comfortable with beautiful views of Lake Superior. The path behind the property was a plus. We would stay at this property again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay here with friends and our kids. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne and chocolate. The house is well stocked with essentials and in a great location. The neighborhood was quiet, had a great view and we loved that there was a trail to walk just outside the backyard. I messaged the host once prior to arrival and they responded quickly.
The house was absolutely awesome. It was so nice getting together with family. We climbed Sugarloaf Mountain, saw waterfalls and did the Pictured Rocks boat tour. It is just beautiful in Marquette! A couple of nights we sat around the fire and had many laughs. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. Mary Jo
A lot to love, perhaps not ideal for families planning a longer stay
There is so much that is wonderful about this property. The location was great, the rooms and beds were comfortable, and the owner and property manager were really responsive and helpful when little things came up. We loved the immediate access to the Iron Ore Trail - don't miss the rope swing into the chilly Chacalay River! I think the house would be perfect for any group for a long weekend. But families should read the listing more closely than I did. The lack of on-site laundry made this a less-than-ideal fit for our family with small children staying for a week, as did the lack of dressers in the upstairs bedrooms and the somewhat under-supplied kitchen. (I can recommend the Loads of Fun laundromat, though!...)
This is a neat property, and a nice place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, although there were a handful of things that could have made the stay better. The first was that the main-level bathroom door did not latch, as the strike plate was missing a screw. The south bedroom on the main level had the opposite problem, and would latch and be very difficult to open again. The house was generally clean, although there were some cobwebs in corners and on surfaces that looked out of reach. Dust was visible on the entertainment center, and there was a baked on white crust on the fridge shelf. The water pressure was great in the showers, and the beds were extremely comfortable. For the price, this is a decent property to stay at, and with a little more attention to maintenance, has the potential to be an incredible stay for folks looking to be out of town a little.
My family enjoyed the stay at Lakewood Lodge! Laura was very helpful and quick to respond when we had trouble with the keypad. The house was very clean and a great location and beautiful views. I highly recommend, I waited too late to book again for my sons College drop off but I wish I would have. Itâs hard to find another place that can compare to Lauraâs place in Marquette.
The house was cozy & perfect for three couples visiting college kids at UNM. Well appointed kitchen & super comfortable beds. A bottle of wine & chocolate gift from the hosts was a special touch. We loved walking the trail behind the house & having a fire outside.
Our family was traveling to the UP to celebrate Thanksgiving/Christmas with extended family who live up there. We found this great property to serve as our home base. It was exactly as described & we loved it. We will definitely be back!
