We loved staying here. Everyone from my 83 year old father to my 8 year old niece and teenage boys had a wonderful time. The location is great-less than a 1/2 mile walk to the beach, coffee shops, etc. The back yard area was perfect with lots of space and great ambiance for us all to relax and enjoy each other. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed and then some. The beds were comfortable, and the best part was we couldn't hear each other when on different floors, so the teenagers could sleep in and the adults could fall asleep early without hearing each other. We gathered for my Mom's burial, and our hosts left a beautiful card and bouquet as well which we really appreciated. There were even toys and a dog bed for our dog. The outdoor games were a nice addition too. Thank you so much to the Harrisons for providing such a welcoming home. we would definitely stay here again.
We came to CDA with three generations (ages 9-85) and felt at very much at home here. The neighborhood is great--quiet with lots of trees and very close to the lake. It was only 30 minutes from Silverwood which is where we spent most of our time, but honestly would have liked at least another day to just relax at the house and explore the restaurants nearby. The church across the street was a bonus--beautiful design with bells that added ambiance, but did not disturb.
Ken was great to work with. We had some questions about the layout given the mobility limitations of an older family member and he responded quickly and thoroughly. All bedrooms and bathrooms require going up or down 7-8 stairs, but it didn't wind up being an issue at all.
Everything was clean and well-supplied. The TV's in every room were a nice option for teenagers. Lots of toys and games including outdoor games in a big backyard. The back porch is huge and made for great breakfasts and late night times around the gas fire. The kitchen had everything we needed and a nice open layout for people to cook and converse at the same time.
We were sorry to leave and eager to come back!
We are a big family that typically brings our pups so we are always in rental homes instead of hotels. This house is hands down the most streamlined, clean, and well stocked we've been in since we started traveling in 2014. Everything you could think of (hello battery drawer!) was available to us. Tons of indoor and outdoor games to play ( got lots of Christmas ideas!) and tvs for everyone. Also the really nice beach towels for hitting the lake. It's in a beautiful spot , easy access to our favorite food places like Rogers and Jimmy down the Street along with quick access to the lake of course. This was an amazing find and we can't wait to go back!
We are the Harrison's, a fun and spontaneous family of 4 plus 2 canine kids. When we are sharing our home with you, we are most likely exploring and road schooling our kids around the country in our 5th wheel.
When moving to CDA, we fell in love with our home for the same reasons you will. It's walkability to everything and still having a large yard and entertaining space while being in the heart of it awl. (Not a misspelling on awl / all. Just a play on words as Coeur d'Alene's actual name meaning is heart of the awl.) The tree canopied covered streets are beautiful in spring and fall. The family friendliness is unmatched. Tubbs Hill and the beautiful very historic St. Thomas church built in 1901, that can be viewed from the large picture window in the living room.
This homes location is perfection. You are within walking distance to everything downtown, midtown, groceries, the lake, resort and everything is within a 5 minute drive if you choose.
