Made reservation 10 months ahead of time. Just a week and a half ahead of our scheduled arrival date, we received a call saying that the property would not be ready for occupancy. We were given a replacement rental at a different location, but too late to make alternative travel arrangements that we might have chosen. Very disconcerting.
Our family had a wonderful visit to Sanibel and really enjoyed this property. We especially loved that it was ground floor and we could just walk out of the lanai and head to the beach! It was a great location and any question or concern was handled immediately. We would definitely stay here again!
The unit itself was, for the most part, as advertised. I was well appointed, and we had easy access to the pool, beach, GAS grills. It was also very near the designated parking space which made for easy unloading and loading. There are numerous maintenance issues that need to be addressed. However, Breakaway Properties is ABLSOUTELY CLUELESS. Every question that I asked during the rental process and after was answered incorrectly. 1. The unit was advertised in the text as a 3 bedroom. However, the photos clearly show four different bedrooms. I asked if there were four bedrooms and was told yes. WRONG. 2. Connfee maker type? Was told Keurig. Again WRONG. 3. Was told charcoal grills. WRONG again. They are gas. I thought I could see gas lines in the photos. I knew more than the rental co. 4. We traveled in two cars. When we arrived, we called Breakaway and Luke told us we did not need parking permits and that there were designated guest parking spaces ..."Look around and just use one of them". WRONG again. fortunately, we encountered the security guard who issued us two parking permits and guided us to a second "reserved" parking space. Management here tows unauthorized vehicles. I am very thankful for the security guard. When we arrived at the unit there were six bath towels and six pool towels. That's all. Again, Luke knew nothing. He admitted he was new and did not know anything about the property. Arriving on Saturday, we were not able to speak with anyone who knew anything about the property until Monday. On Tuesday we received hand towels and face cloths. Again, my issue is not with the unit or the owner. It is with the management company. The brag about (and charge) for their superior cleaning. Take a look at the cold air return for the AC system that is located in the living room. It is filthy and covered with dust. I would venture that the filter has not been changed all summer. I would stay in this unit or at this property again. However, I would NOT rent any property from or through Breakaway Properties again.
Great stay! Comfy beds, screened porch. We saw lots of animals/birds, etc. Collected some seashells and overall had an amazing time! We would love to stay again.
