The Sun House is located in Monteverde among forest and green pastures. The best thing about the property is the view of the Gulf of Nicoya and other Pacific islands. Our guests enjoy an open area with full kitchen, dining room and outside BBQ. The house has an spacious deck where you can take in the forest view and the ocean view. out the attractions and restaurants in the area.
This house is perfect for a family of 5. We offer two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a queen size bed and a private bathroom and the second bedroom has two twin size beds. There is a comfortable sofa-bed for the 5th person.
We hope we can serve you in your next vacations in Monteverde.

Great place to stay!

We loved staying here. Beautiful view and a great place with lots of nice amenities. We would stay here again for sure. We had a little trouble finding the exact location at first but Evelyn helped us out.

Beautiful views

Evelyn was really nice and personable. She brought us cookware when what was there was damaged. The house is beautiful and the view is amazing. We saw rainbows every morning and beautiful sunsets every evening. It is walkable from town but the walk does have some steep hills. There is construction going on Nextdoor but it didn’t disturb us at all.

Amazing Stay!

The Sun House was perfect for our family of 4! So close to town, but yet tucked away to where you feel like you’re in your own little paradise. The views were amazing! Evelyn and her husband were wonderful! Would recommend this house in a heartbeat.

Peaceful, clean, wonderful view

My son and I had a wonderful stay. The house has amazing views from the back porch, with show stopper sunsets. House has a simple, clean feel, with everything needed to be comfortable, and is up above town in a very peaceful setting, but still easy to access the main attractions. Evelyn was very attentive and helped us and answered all our questions. Recommend!

Spectacular

The Sun House was immaculate, well supplied, comfortable and convenient to the town of Monteverde. The view was awesome. Looking out to the Necoya Peninsula & the Gulf was amazing as was the lovely evening view looking over the town of Monteverde. The peaceful setting with an cocktail on the deck was welcome after adventurous days of trekking in the nearby forests. Our host was on top of everything. We will definitely return to this house on our return to CR. It has everything.

Our experience first hand staying at this property was a little disappointing.first off I have to agree with some of the reviews i read prior to making my reservation the hostess was very great at communicating with us from start to finish.but there was a bit of disappointment flaws as far as the security and maintenance on this home.I traveled in July a family 2 teens my 10 year old and husband. We only stayed a total of 2 nights out of 4.we stayed in Monteverde and I am very glad I did only booked 2 at this location.First day did not go well we arrived a little after 3:00 pm it’s a little tricky to find the property.the sign is was not very visible from the main road. I can only imagine at night if looking for this property.before heading out for a late diner.we tried locking the windows since we are leaving our belongings.most of the window locks if not all were broken and not working so we did not have no choice but to bring some of our items with us and lock them up in our trunk car rental since we have no idea how safe the area is. This was very disappointing hope they get repaired for the next people renting.lastly the maintenance is was not good noticed coffee machine was used prior to our arrival and not washed also The sheets were not washed hair dander,some little bugs that prick hard had to shake everything well.since there was no washer or dryer to throw them in myself.also be ready if your the type of person to take warm to hot showers you won’t take any here. Overall all the hostess was indeed very nice and communicated very well before we arrived,helped with info please get the window locks repaired there are many people traveling with minors first time with insecurities of how safe these locations are.

Great location!

This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the action in Monteverde. We booked it in order to be close to Selvatura park for zip lining. It has a great view and Evelyn was very communicative and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The kids loved waking to the howler monkeys in the morning and watching all of the hummingbirds on the property. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay.The host was very open.Answering our calls whenever we needed anything.The house was extremely clean and cool.Even though there was no air conditioning we never felt like we needed it. Great location. Private but close to restaurants and tons of activities. We would stay again and recommend it to anyone traveling ro the area.

Favorite stay

This was my family’s favorite stay in Costa Rica. If we were at the house we were on the back deck. (Beautiful views) Evelyn was the best host. She was quick to answer any questions and give recommendations. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. We loved it.

Wonderful home!

My family of 4 loved this home in Monteverde. Beautiful views, nice and peaceful, lovely stay. Beds were comfy, nice hot showers, plenty of room. We especially enjoyed the balcony in the mornings watching all of the birds. Host was super quick and responsive with any questions I had. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if in the area!

Beautiful Monteverde home

If you are looking for a place to stay in Monteverde, look no further. This is a beautiful home located near town that offers so much. The house was incredibly clean and offered lots of space for our house. Sitting on the patio looking out on the forest never gets old. Finally, Evelyn the host is highly communicative and offers great local tips. Highly recommended!

BEAUTIFUL HOME!

Sunset house 1 is beautiful! It has all the comforts of home and is in a great location! The downtown and adventure tours are very close by. Evelyn is very friendly and extremely helpful with advice about local attractions and culture. The farm tour down the street (milking cows) was very interesting. We would highly recommend staying here. It was a highlight of our trip!!

Lovely Chalet With Amazing View Down the Hillside to Monteverde and the Gulf of Nicoya

We were a family of four and throughly enjoyed our three days here. Such a lovely place with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is close to town and various sites and activities, but also up the hillside enough to be peaceful and restful. Our host, Evelyn, was so great to deal with. Thank you for such a lovely and comfortable base to explore the Monteverde area.

Rain, rain go away

The house is spotless, well-equipped and extremely comfortable. Our host Evelyn met us shortly after we arrived and gave us so much helpful info about the area and activities we could enjoy during our stay. The view of the bay is lovely.

Don’t miss out on this gem!!

I simply cannot say enough good things about The Sunhouse - from the amazing location, to the sweetest host ever, to the beautifully maintained and outfitted home - this is a true gem in the mountains of Monteverde! We were beyond thrilled with our accommodations and I cannot recommend The Sunhouse enough! Evelyn is simply wonderful and so helpful. She helped book our night tour with Roy, a guide with a genuine love and passion for the forest he calls home. My husband declared it his favourite part of the trip. Thank you Evelyn for helping make our family trip one for the ages!

The Sun House was great! We very much enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable, and has amazing views. Evelyn was great and was always available. The location of the house was great as well and is a couple minute drive from Santa Elena. Make sure you try the pizza at Pizzeria Rome...one minute drive from the house!!

Perfect stay

Our multigenerational family of six had a wonderful stay at the Sun House. The home is clean, beautiful, and comfortable with an amazing view. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials and we really appreciated the children’s books and toys. We loved the balcony - we saw many species of birds and heard howler monkeys. Evelyn is a gracious and responsive host who is very knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely be back!

The View

Absolutely stunning home with a stunning view. It was amazing to watch all the birds from the patio in the morning and the lightening storms in the evening. The host was awesome as well, very friendly, attentive and really went out of her way. I wish we could've stayed longer!
