Entourée par la forêt, la maison est située sur le sol et possède de grandes fenêtres qui lui donnent une vue spectaculaire sur le couvert forestier et le golfe de Nicoya. De grandes chambres et des lits queen-size offrent un grand confort. La maison est assez grande pour une famille mais aussi parfaite pour une escapade romantique en couple. Situé à proximité de la ville mais extrêmement privé, il est idéal comme base pour profiter de toutes les attractions de Monteverdes et constitue en soi une attraction qui permet de se reposer après une journée complète d'activités.

Comme mentionné, la maison est située sur une grande propriété, il y a d'autres maisons de location sur la propriété mais à distance de crier pour fournir à chacun la vie privée. Juste en haut de la rue, il y a plusieurs restaurants, quelques petits supermarchés, des galeries d'art et des magasins de souvenirs. Dans la région, il y a plusieurs attractions telles que des réserves privées, un jardin de papillons, des visites de nuit et autres.

L'espace

La maison est située sur une propriété de 27 acres que les clients peuvent explorer à leur guise, leur offrant la possibilité de voir beaucoup de la flore et de la faune locales sans avoir à réserver une visite ou à conduire ailleurs.

Amazing rental house in Monteverde!

Just rent this house now and don't look elsewhere! Amazing view from the property. We saw a toucan, monkeys, coatis, agoutis, and other birds right from the porch. Close to everything in town and attractions. We had great communication with Daniela the host, and she arranged great guided tours for us. A truly incredible propety.

Awesome Stay!

The pictures don’t do this house justice. It’s beautiful inside and the nature outside is incredible. Small touches like including coffee, tea, board games and the yoga mat make this an exceptional Vrbo property. Daniela is exceptional with communication and arrangements. The only place I don’t go to 5 points is location and that’s only because of the road quality to get there. We had a high clearance, 2 wheel drive and still got bounced around. No way I could imagine taking a sedan there. All in all, a great stay!

Great View

This house worked well for our family of adults. It’s close enough to town but it feels like a tree house in the woods. Great view of the Gulf of Nicoya. Communication with the host was always quick and easy.

Wonderful Start to Our Vacation

We were 4 travelers on our first trip together. Mom, Dad, Son, and Son's fiance. Staying at Above the Gulf house was a perfect place to begin our adventure! The house is unique and beautifully appointed. The view from the balcony drew us outside every afternoon. But what made it extra special was Daniela, our contact person. She promptly answered all our questions, and helped with several restaurant and tour suggestions. Thank you, Daniela!

Wonderful!!!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. I have too many things to rave about including the location, the house itself, the views, Daniela... I'll touch on a few things here. The house was in the perfect location, off-the-beaten track but close to town, a minute from the Monteverde Butterfly Garden, Valle Escondido Nature Reserve (Farm to Table Escondido) and a lot of other unique places. The house had everything needed inside and out. Amazing views of the gulf from all of the ceiling-to-floor windows in the back of the house, well-stocked in every room.... Daniela, who is the host of the property, came to meet us at the house the day after we arrived. She's wonderful. She told us about the history of the house and the surrounding property built by her grandfather. The handmade woodwork throughout the house is stunning. Daniela responded to my texts almost immediately, even to offer to meet us at the corner before entering the property because we arrived late at night and got confused as to where to turn, even though she sent a very detailed video of how to get to the front door.The wildlife around the house is abundant. White-faced monkeys greeted us on the patio the morning after we arrived. Birds, coatis, agoutis, and moreWe would all love to go back and stay in the exact same house.

Fabulous spot!

Our stay here was fabulous. The pictures don’t do it justice. The home is extremely clean and well taken care of. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped.It’s close enough to walk into the town of Monteverde and minutes to all of the excursions.We had monkeys visit our balcony and the view is incredible. To top it off, our host, Daniela was lovely and very responsive. We would stay here again!

The Gulf House - Home Away from Home

The Gulf House was perfect for our stay in Monteverde. It had everything we needed and more. The views were spectacular, and the property was close to town but secluded at the same time. Daniela was a great host. She was always quick to respond to our questions and to provide recommendations. She also assisted with booking various activities for us. Our favorite was the night tour with George! Would definitely recommend for your stay in Monteverde!

Overall this house was just delightful for myself, my wife and our adult kid. Quiet, out of the way, but not really far from Sante Elaina. Nice view, if the weather co-operates. A bit of a rough driveway in, but then again a lot of the main roads were rough. Just a few easy steps into the place. Lots of space. Storage was adequate, A nice kitchen, for the cooking we did. There were several other houses very nearby that probably were built/owned by, the same owner/builder as well as a little outdoor playground of sorts, for both kids and adults. A short walk got me to a nearby Nature Sanctuary, which was one of the nicer ones we had been to. Groceries and dining were right out at the end of the road back to the house. A five minute walk through the woods/neighborhood. The internet/wifi was easy to access and worked just fine. Our host provided good info both prior and during our stay. She also provided entertainment for our last day. It was fun watching the monkeys from the deck. Thanks!

Absolutely loved this property, would highly recommend, amazing views with local wildlife coming to visit. A short drive into Monteverde, and dining options and a small supermarket very close by. Daniela the host was lovely and very helpful.

Simply amazing!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this slice of heaven! The house is amazing with everything that you might need. The host, Daniela was even more amazing, if that is even possible. Daniela was so easy to work with and communicate with. She was extremely helpful with anything we needed. The wildlife, view and charm of this house would be hard to beat. We would not hesitate to stay at this house again.

Spectacular house in the trees!

We would absolutely stay again at this house. The view was breathtaking, the house was clean, Daniela was so helpful and very responsive. She met us when we checked in and she is just lovely. It is a bit hard to find but she was so helpful in getting us there that once we found it, we had no issues going in and out. The house is very roomy and can fit at least 5-6 comfortably. The back deck is so wonderful in the early morning if you enjoy watching birds and various animals. Don’t miss out on this property.

A ton of fun!

We loved staying here. Daniela was very communicative, and sent great directions, including a very helpful video - without it, we might have still been wandering around the rainforest. The house is just a few minutes from town but feels like it’s tucked away, and we were able to see plenty of wildlife from the back balcony. Enough space for all of us, and the washer/dryer was a huge bonus so we could throw in a load of laundry. Highly recommend staying here if you need a lovely, comfortable place to stay in Monteverde!

Great stay!

The listing is exactly as pictured and described. The property is nicely secluded but still close to everything. It is easy to get to, yet private. We felt completely safe to walk around the property day and night looking for wildlife. We saw coatis, agoutis, howler and white faced monkeys as well as toucans, hummingbirds, bell birds and mot mots. At night we could watch the lightening from the thunderstorms above the gulf put on an amazing show. The host was a great communicator with the location, meeting us at the house and showing us around and how things worked. She also connected us with an amazing local guide for a night tour. I would stay here again during the green season. Enjoy!

Great house for family or 4 plus people in Monteverde!

Beautiful house with a great view! You feel out in nature and even the monkeys came right up to the house one afternoon. Nice walking trails and good food nearby. Close to zip lining and the cloud forest.

This property was super unique and really amazing. The view of the Gulf of Nicoya was beautiful. My wife and I stayed there with our 8 and 5 year old daughters. This place was plenty big enough for all of us. It had an awesome balcony that wrapped around the whole house. The house is very secluded, but its not far from great locations. The house was modern with cool wood crafted tables and countertops. The Cloud Forest and the Children's Eternal Rain Forest are short drives. There is also a small grocery store that is close by. We didn't really go into the main part of town for anything. Don Luis, Stella's Bakery and Morpho's restaurant were some of our favorite eateries, that were close by. The host of the property Danielle is wonderful. She communicates with you as much as you need her, and will give you recommendations and can even set you with tour guides. I would highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to Monteverde. I also high recommend Monteverde, for anyone visiting Costa Rica.

Wonderful family holiday

My family of 4 stayed for 3 nights. Daniela made us breakfast 2 of the mornings at Abuelo’s Hangout to help us get out the door early for our scheduled activities. One was quite early for a guided hike with George, which she helped arrange. We did 2 hikes with George- can’t say enough other than book it now! Super fun, informative and just a great time. The view from the house is amazing. My tween and teen enjoyed having separate rooms. On our last morning, we were greeted by a family of capuchin monkeys. Thank you for sharing this gem!

Spectacular!!!

This place is nothing short of spectacular. It was perfectly clean, the furnishing are top of the line, the setting is gorgeous, the host Daniella was so helpful and accommodating. We even saw a monkey! I highly recommend this tree house home.
