Fall in love with peaceful quiet, beautiful desert landscapes, gorgeous sunsets, stunning starry skies, and of course the moon. @moonsetranch is a place to relax and reset. A place to discover new things about the world and about oneself.

Located within minutes of The Integratron, Giant Rock and La Copine as well as a short 25-minute drive to downtown Joshua Tree and the west entrance of the national park, Moonset Ranch is the prefect desert escape.

THE SPACE
The main cabin is about 650 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. You'll have the entire cabin and 2 1/2 fully fenced acres all to yourself. There is another house on the property but it currently sits empty and is not being rented out. The house comfortably sleeps 4 guests but you can squeeze in 6 if you share the beds! The orange bedroom and the red bedroom both have queen beds. The couch is very long and comfortable to sleep on (I'm 6' 3" and I fit!). There is also an air mattress kept under the couch. The bathroom includes a washer and dryer. Enjoy the living room with a fully functioning record player, bluetooth speakers and TV with Roku player. The recently remodeled kitchen features a handcrafted high top dinner table for extra counter space and a huge farmhouse sink. There is lots of outdoor space to enjoy. The back patio features a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal please). Outdoor games include corn hole, bocce ball and a horseshoe pit. The front porch has a gas fireplace for you to enjoy (propane included).

ACCESS
My property is about 15 minutes from Yucca Valley and 25 minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park Welcome Center. Access to the house is via a dirt road but it is only about a half mile off a very nicely paved road. Except in pouring rain or snow, any type of car should have no trouble accessing the property. There is plenty of parking (2.5 acres of it haha!). I have a lockbox with keys in it. You'll receive an access code the day of your check in.

**Now with Starlink as of April 2025! Work remote with super fast internet speeds of over 100 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up.

I have a wood burning stove inside but it is not currently available for use as it needs inspection and repair.

In an effort to maintain a secure premises, the house is equipped with three exterior cameras. The cameras are ONLY on the exterior, and there are no cameras on the inside.

If you wish to use the outdoor BBQ grill please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.

Perfect Secluded Family Vacation

We stayed for three nights to explore Joshua Tree and the surrounding areas. The property was perfect for our family of four. Hot tub was a highlight, and the kitchen was great.

Good Stay convenient to KOH

Was just what was needed for reason we were there; 2 Adults *friends stayed in house. Place was clean, easy check in, great communication. Only thing is the wifi is not great constantly buffered couldn't watch anything and hardly could communicate out while at house, plus no cell reception. *T-Mobile & At&t.

Cozy and Private

First time using VRBO and this was a great way to start it off. Chris's property was spacious, comfy, clean, and serene. This time of year (late winter/early spring) Landers is super windy, but other than the weather doing its thing we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hot tub and kitchen were our fave parts - all the amenities top notch and a communicative host to boot!

Great!

A great stay in the desert. We loved the Jacuzzi under the stars and the room for our dog to run safely. If you're there in the winter I recommend some fuzzy socks or slippers because the floor is cold! But otherwise very cozy and fun.

Just what we needed

House is cozy and clean. Decorated with such an eye for mid-century, modern desert vibe; we instantly felt at home and it had all the accommodations listed to make our stay easy and comfortable. Easy drive to west entrance of Joshua Tree Nat’l Park. Would definitely stay again!

Great spot! Easy access and very relaxing

Super nice spot, had a cozy vibe while also having plenty of space. Hot tub was great and allowed for some relaxing. Following the instructions made it really easy and we spent barely any time in dirt roads to get to it. I recommend following those and not your gps. The area itself is a neighborhood, so there's plenty of people around. We didn't care for the neighbors 4x4 and dog noise, but we had no issues later in the day. All in all a great place.

This place is amazing

The perfect weekend escape with absolutely immaculate vibes. The view from the hot tub is other-worldly and the cabin itself is incredibly cozy, comfortable, and a blast to relax in. We will be back!!

Great oasis for Joshua Tree

The most relaxing stage of our So Cal road trip was at this comfortable oasis with easy access to Joshua Tree. The spacious home with full amenities helped us decompress and enjoy the starry nights and desert sunsets. My daughter loved early morning roadrunner watching, and my wife and I enjoyed the superb kitchen setup.

Spa water

Stay was great and accommodations were good but the spa wasn’t ready for us to use on our first night. The pool technician was late and arrived once we had already arrived. Then when we got in the water smelled and was cloudy. Technician had to return and drain and refill spa so night 1 was a no go on the spa. Next night it was great!!! Beautiful sunsets and views.

Perfectly private, quiet, relaved setting. Property was well maintained minus a few issues reported to owner. Thoughtful accommodations for guests, well priced. Make sure you have a vehicle for sand.

Just what I was looking for

Was looking for some fresh air & time away from constant construction noise at my house in San Diego. This place checked all the boxes! Quiet, clean and well stocked. View from the hot tub at sunset was fabulous (also appreciated the cleanliness of the hot tub). Fencing around the property was secure - I brought my two dogs and they had fun exploring/running free during the day. The record player worked - great touch! Accessing the property does involve some sandy roads but I had no issue getting around (was kinda fun, in fact & I do not have four wheel drive). I’d stay again!

Quaint Desert Getaway

Our one-night stay at this small desert home, specifically chosen for dark sky astrophotography went as expected. The remote location provided an optimal environment for capturing stunning celestial views. The cozy home, though small, had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. However, I must mention there was a faint lingering scent of old clothing as you walk in. Nevertheless, the allure of the pristine night sky quickly overshadowed any minor inconveniences. The absence of light pollution offered breathtaking stargazing opportunities. This desert abode is an ideal retreat for avid astrophotographers seeking awe-inspiring celestial views.

My favorite thing about this home is the peace and quiet. The stars are quite magnificent out here too! With 2.5 acres all to yourself its the perfect get away from the city.
