Gorgeous retreat

This is one of the most gorgeous places I have stayed in! It was in a perfect location to walk to Watercolor Beach Club. Plenty of room for 14 of us. It had everything we needed to cook or grill. I will definitely stay here again!

Stunning property, exactly what we needed

Gorgeous location adjacent to the lake and walking trail. We loved all of the comfortable outdoor spaces on every level of the home. There is enough space for a larger party to enjoy being together and equally as many opportunities to escape for some alone time. Perfect vacation spot, quiet, family oriented, spacious, and very luxe!

Kids loved the ice machine, foosball table and the elevator.Has 5 bikes and a golf cart that we used. Lots of space for a large group with many get away places in the house. Highly recommend!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our overall stay at The Gold Standard was amazing! The property was top notch and location unbeatable. It felt like staying at a high end resort and overall the home had everything we needed. A few suggestions/disappointments were that for this price of a rental, some of the "little things" were cheap such as quality of toilet paper (probably the thinnest we have ever used) and 2 rolls per bath, no extra trashliners for the kitchen, 2 Finish dishwasher tabs, minimal kitchen towels, things like this. It was probably one of the lowest stocked homes we have stayed in when it came to these things and for this price and size of rental, we didn't feel it should have been on us to purchase a full package of dishwasher detergent, trash liners, toilet paper and so on to just have to throw out at the end of our stay.Other than this though, the management team was prompt with a few questions/issues we had with the fireplace and pool and our overall stay was great!

Definitely Not the Gold Standard

The interior space, decor, and location this home provided were very nice for a family of 10. However, the elevator was not working when we arrived on Sunday—an amenity we needed since two members of our family had impaired mobility, and we noticed that many of the kitchen utensils had been put away greasy and dirty. After calls to the property manager every day, the elevator was repaired on Thursday afternoon, but we were required to leave the beach and come back to the house and wait on the service man for three hours. The largest problem became apparent on Thursday morning when fleas were found in the second floor MBR and adjoining bunk room. We had NO pet with us. Management did come and set off a flea bomb. We requested maid service to come later and clean the rooms and bath connecting them and change the linens since there were fleas in the beds, which they did. Much to our chagrin there were still active live fleas that night and all the way until we checked out Sunday morning. When we called on Friday, we were told it just takes time to kill them—which may be true, however, 5 people had to move to other rooms. This rendered 2 of the BR’s and the only bathtub upstairs unusable for the last 3 of our 7 day stay. Management has yet to respond to our phone call or letter asking to resolve this issue, and of course the full rental price has been charged on our Visa. We have vacationed in Watercolor 5 times staying in 4 different homes, and never had issues like this before.

Hello Nick, We are so sorry to hear of your disappointing stay. Elevators can be difficult with repairs but we are glad it was finally resolved. That was the quickest we could get a vendor out and I know that was really frustrating for y'all. The flea bombs do take a bit to really take affect and that was bad timing for your stay. We did everything we could to rectify and reclean those rooms. I see you spoke to management on August 1 so I'll follow up on that! Sure hope you all were able to enjoy the beach and pool time. We will certainly use your feedback to learn from!

Main living area a little small and cut up, but other than that --one of the best houses in Watercolor. Pool light timer stayed on all nite, sending multi-color light show into the master bedroom windows. Reported it, but was never fixed whole staying at the house for a week.

Watercolor Gold Standard

I'm not certain it's a 'Gold Standard' but it's a very nice home. The bunk room is part of one of the master rooms - the photos made us think it was separate not attached so only works if you're okay to share a room w/ kids in bunk room. The downstairs Master and bath were lovely w/ lot's of space. The pool is really a dipping pool. I'd suggest w/ the price of these types of homes they come w/ extra paper towels and extra dish soap, and trash bag liners. Too much money to have to go out and purchase that for a 22k home. Also would appreciate being able to get housekeeping mid-week during a 7 week stay. We inquired but were told it was not possible.

The mattress in our room was as comfortable as any five-star hotel I've ever stayed in. It might even be more comfortable than my mattress at home. Housekeeping and maintenance staff should be commended. It's a lot to take care of and they did a great job. We had an issue with one of the bicycles but the management company sent someone out to fix it right away. Everything was as described and pictured. We were very pleased with the home and service. Best Vacation Rental We've Ever Stayed In

Everyone loved their room and having their own bathroom. With 9 people, there was plenty of space. We made use of the golf cart and 5 bicycles that were included with our reservation. We paid to heat the pool so we could use it when it got cold at night. I highly recommend doing so if you visit in April.

There's no place like The Gold Standard on 30a

It is exquisite from top to bottom, like a clean, bright canvas with colorful, artistic touches. Every room is unique and beautiful. It backs up to the lake with a soothing view that you can only get in Watercolor. The dip pool is a nice feature, although we did not get a chance to use it. As far as the basics, the kitchen had all the essentials, the home was clean, and the management company communicated well before and during our stay.

Awesome Watercolor Home

We stayed here for spring break with two other families and didn't feel on top of each other. The house was only a five-minute walk to downtown watercolor but the golf cart was also a nice amenity to have. The house sits on a lake and the sunsets at night are gorgeous. I highly recommend this house, it's unlike any other.

The rooms were stylish, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is amazing. It is right next to the bridge so we could walk and bike everywhere very easily.
