Enjoy a newly remodeled two bedroom lower unit in the historic Oak Park suburb of Chicago. This unit is within walking distance to local cafes, amazing restaurants, ice cream shops, and a grocery store to meet all your needs. Explore the nearby Frank Lloyd Wright district and the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway. Walk two blocks to the train leading to all neighborhoods of Chicago, or simply enjoy a relaxing stay in the cozy apartment. Easy access from all nearby airports. Pet friendly.
The only issue was with the toilet and air conditioner. The toilet needs to be fixed and the air conditioner was on so high that it was uncomfortable (too cold). The temperatures outside were not hot during the time of our stay. So, it didn't seem necessary for it to be so cold inside the apartment. The owner was very kind at turning it down but shared that it cooled the entire building. So, it couldn't be turned completely off. He controled the air conditioner. It took effort to get the toilet to flush that required me to remove the lid and lift something for it to flush.
Easy to get to and SO close to the train station. Cute little neighborhood with plenty of restaurants to walk to. The place was so clean and nice. Canât wait to come back and stay here again!! Came here on a girls trip and felt very safe. Highly suggest!
Me and my sons were in town for a football game and enjoyed our stay in this comfortable basement apartment. Oak Park is a great little suburb of Chicago with a great selections of restaurants and nearby shopping. The hosts were easy to communicate with when our code to get in the apartment didnât work. World recommend this place for smaller parties 3-4 people and would stay here again.
My friend and i stayed at this listing to explore the Windy City and to see a speaker in Near North. We found the proximity to the 'L' made it very easy to travel to take in some local sights. We found a few things in the rental not quite up to par but the overall stay was a positive one. We would consider booking this listing in the future.
Quiet area on outskirts of Chicago. Close to everything. Clean and great for pets. Even though this place is petfriendly you would never know any animals have ever stayed there because it is so clean. Very good experience!
We really enjoyed the neighborhood, and enjoyed the additional touches of q-tips, razors, and cream for the coffee. The reason I'm leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is a couple small things. 1, there is no light in the entry stairwell, which is very hard to navigate at Bobby
Nice stay, didnât like the neighbors very rude, loud stomping and I had to be quiet even on weekends didnât appreciate the approach of any of it! Iâm on vacation and barley got to be in the home due to complaints of conversations or laughing we did
This was a very nice place to stay. About two blocks from the L We used the L once and drove into Chicago once. Nice neighbor hood. Restaurants and small store nearby.
Apartment very clean, Has everything. Once some suggestion for us vertically challenged person, it was hard to reach the dishes in the very nice kitchen. A foot stool would be helpful! Nice parking spot.
Convenient location if you are visiting friends in Oak Park. Close to transit, restaurants, grocery, has a parking spot. It was ok clean, had dog hair. No cover sheet on the bed, and found some damp ones in the closet. No temperature control in the room, which is troublesome.
Great apartment! Perfect for 2 adults and 2 teens. Extremely close to Blue Line into Chicago. Easy drive to Wheaton (could have easily taken the Metra instead). Recommend Cuzzo pizza and Addis Cafe in Oak Park. One of us came down with a cold- grocery and drugstore nearby, and we spent the day playing cards and watching movies. Kitchenette was great for making our own (read: cheap) breakfasts each day. Thank you!
Clean and convenient, in a very nice part of town, located near a lot of shopping, restaurants, and public transportation.
Unit itself was as described. Be mindful that older folks or people with bad backs/legs/etc. will have to navigate several bed situations that are in raised lofts and must be accessed by climbing precarious stairs (there is one normal level bed, and a couch that could be used as a bed). For us, this wasn't an issue, but I kept thinking, "Thank goodness I'm still young enough to manage this".
All the amenities were there (TV, streaming, wonderful bathroom with a beautiful shower, clear instructions for check-in/check-out), and a mostly functional kitchen (toaster oven did not work so I was unable to re-toast a hot sandwich I'd gotten). Also no coffee for the coffee maker, only instant, which.... yeah.
Aside from these tiny things, the stay was great. I'd come here again.
Our thanks to the owner!
Everything about our stay was fantastic. The pictures were exact, the amenities were really well done and a lot was provided. From free wifi to professional responses/check ins this Vrbo is one of my favorites.
The only noticeable "negative" trait was what looked to be just a piece of garbage behind the couch. I wouldnt give a lower review for something weve all probably seen in our own homes once or twice.
The owner is polite, responsive, but also understanding.
If i could give a tip it would be to the owner: make sure you check who uses your wii in the house. We stumbled across previous players who put racial slurs as characters and some inappropriate words left on a couple games from other renters before us.
Please dont let that stop you from staying here! Lovely place.
This was the 2nd time we stayed there. It works perfectly for our family. It's in a nice location and close to shops. We'll definitely stay there again.
