Its a great place to "put your feet up" and enjoy Maine, "the way life should be"..
The cabin was very nice and clean. Amy was an excellent host. She was very knowledgeable on the area and had great recommendations! She has a beautiful place and it was a peaceful getaway!
My partner and i had a wonderful stay at this property. Secluded yet close to town. The property was very clean with everything updated or new inside. The owner has it stocked with anything and everything that you could possibly need. She was available when we got there to show us around and available for questions about the area throughout our stay. There are multiple maps and brochures of things to do in the area. The canoe and the lake was an amazing experience recommend doing it everyday.
This was a fantastic home base for our first trip to Acadia. The rental unit is set on a beautifully landscaped lakeside property managed by the owner. The kitchen, bath, and furnishings are top notch and the unit is clean and well maintained. The owner had lots of great tips for visiting the local park attractions. We spent half a day lolling about the property on Alamoosook Lake in the owners canoe. Orland is great home base to sample different areas of Acadia. We donât feel we missed anything by skipping Bar Harbor in favor of quieter spots like Schoodic and Southwest Harbor. We highly recommend this VRBO gem.
Every detail was carefully planned out and the entire experience left us smiling! Frank and Amy go way above and beyond while making you feel right at home!
Hosts are very nice and responsive. The cottage and grounds are immaculate. Well stocked kitchen with modern appliances. Very comfortable bed. Roomy bathroom and great shower. Good WiFi but no tv.
I wish we could have stayed longer at this rental. It was clean, had large windows that brought in lovely light, and had the most well stocked kitchen I have ever encountered. The bed was very comfortable, and we enjoyed eating on the deck surrounded by the flower gardens and birds. We canoed and caught bass and pickerel in the lake. The owner and her sister were wonderful and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Our stay was wonderful! Amy went above and beyond to help us feel welcome and give us the lay of the land. We mostly used the home as our home base but would love to come back and spend time relaxing on the lake. The house was clean, comfortable, and well kept. Canât beat this setting if you want peace and quiet in the Maine woods. You wonât regret spending time in this gem!
If you are looking for a peaceful setting this is perfect. Being able to take the canoe out for a sunset paddle was special, especially being serenaded by Loons and other birds. The unit was very comfortable and had more than necessary in terms of supplies. There is no TV and it is a bit of a drive to anywhere for restaurants, etc but makes up for it in the peaceful setting
We had the best time! The property is more beautiful than we could have imagined! Comfortable, relaxing and a very well-stocked kitchen. We also enjoyed exploring the river and lake on the property by canoe.
A perfect place for retreat surrounded by the beauty of tall pines, flower gardens, deer, ducks & eagles. Apartment is lovely with upscale amenities and a deck with view of lake. We enjoyed exploring the lake & river by kayak each day. Amy is a very gracious host!
We stayed at this lovely property for 10 days in late August and loved every minute. Itâs secluded and quiet yet within an hourâs drive of Acadia (which we visited twice), Stonington/Deer Isle and Camden. And itâs only 20 minutes from Blue Hill. The place itself is SPOTLESS and comfortable and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. And the lake!!! OMG. Gliding along in the canoe in the evening with a glass of whatever was memorable and special - especially when we were greeted by a loon. We highly recommend this property. Did we mention the hand cut flowers from Amyâs garden sitting on a table upon our arrival?!?!?!
This appartment is beautifully designed and maintained with high end finishes. It had many thoughtful amenities such as a well equipped kitchen, beach towels, grill, and local maps. The gardens were in full bloom while we were there. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and canoing and swimming in the river and lake. While it is a good hour to Acadia, we still appreciated the location which was at the same time rural and a 10 minute drive to the grocery store. The host is across the driveway and a font of information about both the property and the area. We highly recommend this rental.
A short walk to the lake, which is at entrance of driveway. I was not expecting no window treatments on livingroom windows. Made a family member alittle uncomfortable sleeping on the sleeper sofa there, however, house was in a great location away from neighbors. Just a comfort level to get use to.
