So sorry that you seemed to have such a poor experience. This review surprises me since we interacted daily and you complained only after you checked out even though I was very responsive and accommodating. The pool was cloudy (not filled with algae) after the pump failed and was replaced, then it rained 3” during your stay. But (as I assured you at the time) it was chemically balanced and perfectly safe — so much so that I allowed my grandchildren to swim in it on the day you checked out!) I take these things seriously, which is why I was checking and cleaning the pool so diligently while you were here. My cleaning crew sure did earn that cleaning fee too — we had to clean multiple rugs after finding your dogs had urinated and defecated in several spots (after I bent our house rules and allowed you to bring two dogs instead of limiting it to one). But — don’t worry— I didn’t charge your security with the extra cleaning required. We have guests who come back year after year from as far away as western PA and California. People who have become friends and know how special this place is! I wish you all the best and hope you find a place more to your liking for the future.

Jeff, thanks for the nice review. I laughed at the last sentence. I say to prospective renters: "if your favorite place is suburban shopping mall do not come to Brooklin, Maine. In fact do not come to Maine at all"

Thanks Kathy. I am heading up to Maine in even a few weeks. This is mostly a working vacation, but I am meeting family also.

Paul and Stephanie were concerned about the WIFI as they made the reservation. Later Paul said “DSL, boy I have not heard that acronym I a long time”. But the slow Internet connection served their purpose. If you are on a Zoom conference meeting, your son is playing World of WarCraft and your wife wants to shop, you are going to have trouble.
