Helen Respite!! Walking distance to heart of Helen!!
Due to our overwhelming demand from our first rental (Helen Reprieve) weâre excited to unveil our newest place to rest your head- the Helen Respite. This location is a two bedroom two and a half bath condo with a full kitchen and two patios with views of Mt Yonah. Perfectly located to rest and recover from all of the adventures you have in and around Helen! This beautiful property is intended for couples and families!
We stayed over the Veteranâs day weekend. Check in was seamless and everything was as advertised. Really lovely condo, in an area of town that is a walk or short drive away to Helenâs center. Master bedroom was enormous! Very cozy, enjoyable stay. Hope to return one day!
Iâve stayed in several rentals and this one was by far the cleanest and most spacious. Close to downtown Helen but too far to walk to shops. Owners are friendly and responsive when asked for recommendations. Will definitely keep on my list for future visits.
I rode my Goldwing there from AL. I was tired and ready for a cold beer. I opened the fridge and there were 2 Samuel Adams Octoberfest beers..!! Score..! Great and safe parking. Great stay for a bikes.
We enjoyed our stay. It was roomy enough, but could have used more seating. Bring your own blankets because the ones there are not comfy. It was listed as walking distance from Helen, but it is not. It is a short drive though and parking was not an issue.
The overhead lights in the master bedroom did not work. Half of the plugins in the master bathroom did not work. Half of the master bedroom closet didn't have a place to hang clothes. There were dead flowers on the kitchen table. There was a dirty towel in the half bathroom hanging on the door. Both beds were hard and uncomfortable. There wasn't anything to wash dishes with.
We enjoyed our stay. Check in process was very easy. Condo was very nice, clean, and roomy. The had snack and drinks available. It was very close to downtown. We throughly enjoyed our stay.
Townhouse was clean. Had welcome snacks and drinks provided. Not what I would call a short walk into town. Really have to drive. Slats missing in master bedroom and we had to put up a blanket up to keep sunlight from coming in. Nice canopy over porch so you can sit outside. I good place to stay.
Myself and two girlfriends had a wonderful stay! The property was clean and easy to find and the manager was easy to reach and very helpful. The only two drawbacks: no DVD player (sounds old school but my girlfriends and I brought dvds of chick flicks to watch but there was no DVD player, I must have overlooked it while booking), and the long walk into town. Due to parking being so limited in town we counted on walking in and out. We were prepared for a 20-30 minute walk to reach town but it did get a little exhausting after the first two days. There were good sidewalks but very poor lighting along the roads in and out of town so we didnât feel very comfortable as three women walking at night. Not at all an issue with the property, it was fantastic and Iâd probably stay here again but do encourage people staying in the future to factor in the long walk and the possibility of walking where itâs poorly lit at night. But we had an excellent stay and highly recommend the property.
Very clean, easy in/out to meals, shopping⊠Great snacks and cold beverages. Beds comfy. Roomy for two couples. Shade in bedroom to left of steps, missing slats so didnât cover window. Would be nice to have a chair in that room. Would be nice to have bedside table in parking lot side bedroom. Ice maker/ water dispenser maybe not hooked up? Would be nice to have corkscrew as we had a corked bottle of wine. Lantern on lower porch was broken. A small frog was in it. We did set it free. Trash was left in unit but we disposed of it. The owners did refund us for our troubles. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this unit.
My wife is a local from the county next door (Habersham) and I grew up in Buford with my roots in Louisiana. We're both huge fans of traveling whether it's in a different country or in our backyard. We met and fell in love in Helen, Georgia. It has a special place in our hearts and we enjoy sharing it with the world!
While living and working in town we rented a condo from a very sweet couple! Our neighbor wanted to sell her condo (a few doors down) and we jumped on the opportunity! This condo holds a very special place in our heart as we learned the joys and difficulties of newborn parents two times over. We moved out of town to be closer to our careers but didn't want to sell the condo near and dear to heart so we decided to share it with others and offer a local perspective!
There is certainly an influx of vacation rentals in Helen since we've started ours in 2019. However, I have realized what helps us stand out is that we are not only competitive in price - We also add heart into how we host! We genuinely want everyone to have the best time during their trip. We are as involved or as uninvolved as our guests want!
