Cozy cottage with a beautiful mountain view

We had a wedding to attend in Culpepper and it was nice to unwind a few more days at this cottage. Gorgeous area and the cottage was very comfortable/well equipped. Loved the peace and quiet! Jerry was a great host!

Quiet stay in the mountains

Our stay was beautiful in this mountain cabin! Jerry was a very accommodating and polite host. The cabin was beautiful and clean. We were close to wineries and hiking in Shanendoah National Park. We will be sure to look back here for our next vacation!

Great place and location

The property is as advertised, and very close to Old Rag. We have some unexpected issues come up during our stay (like getting a flat tire), and the host was very helpful.

Beautiful property

Jerry is a great host, and his property is gorgeous. The cottage has everything you would need and is in a great location. Our dogs loved all the space, perfect place to relax after a day of hiking Shenandoah.

Great cottage

Had a great stay in Jerry's cottage. The land is great with a lot of room and the size was just right for my needs. The location was great and close to Sperryville, which I went to everyday for coffee. Jerry is a great host, very hepful, and good to talk with. The cottage itself has a great layout, bathroom, and kitchen. No complaints and I will stay again next time I am in town. Definitely recommend.

Great couples getaway

Jerry's cottage was the perfect home base for our couples getaway long weekend! Simple and clean, it was in a great location to easily access hiking, wineries, breweries and restaurants while feeling secluded.

Great Location for Old Rag

House is just down the road from the Old Rag ranger station. Bed was very comfortable, especially after a long day hiking. Perfect for two people. Bring bug spray, the gnats in this area are pretty bad.

Getaway under dark skies

I came for dark skies and was not disappointed. Jerry is a great host and the farmhouse was cool and comfortable during a real hot spell.

Beautiful setting

We enjoyed a lovely weekend away and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property. The house was perfect for me, my husband and our pup. The views were wonderful and the location was perfect for hiking and visiting wineries. Jerry was very friendly and a great host, as well!

Cozy cottage

I loved staying at this cottage. Had everything I needed for my stay. Clean and comfy and the sunrises and sunsets were amazing. This is the place for you if you are looking peace and quiet. It’s about 1 mile from the Old Rag trailhead. The views from the property are amazing. I would most definitely stay there again.

Beautiful house and view

The house was so clean and pretty and the view of the mountains was fantastic. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely go back.

Perfect long weekend spot

This cottage was the perfect getaway for myself and my partner. Great spot to unplug for a long weekend and easy drive to Shenandoah National Park. We were in awe of the night sky as there is little to no light pollution and platform to star gaze on the property. Place has everything needed to be comfortable and Jerry is sure to be accessible if you have questions or needs. Would definitely come back again!

Cozy Cottage with Perfect View

Jerry's cottage was cozy and inviting. If your goal is to hike Old Rag (which I highly reccomend) his place is the place to be, as it is just a few miles from the trailhead. Jerry seems to be a great guy that is truly concerned with the well being of his guests. We were satisfied and would return to this rental.

Cottage Near Old Rag

We had an amazing time spending the weekend at the cottage to celebrate our anniversary. Jerry was a wonderful host. The property is beautiful with a nice view of the mountains. Very peaceful. We enjoyed watching the deer and stargazing at night. Would definitely recommend doing the old rag hike. We took an easier route to the summit using the fire road. Would love to stay here again if we are in the area. Thanks Jerry!

A Bucolic Respite

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jerry’s cabin! We wanted a cabin with a clear view of the mountains and this location did not disappoint one bit. In the mornings, we were greeted with a panoramic vista of the mountains from every side. Jerry also allowed us access to the field behind the cabin which houses a little platform to get even better glimpses of the beautiful area surrounding this cabin, including the many stars that shone up the night sky. He provided us with clear descriptions of how to arrive to the cabin and offered to meet up with us after our arrival to provide us with further information about the cabin, places to visit during our stay, and the best routes to travel on. The cabin itself was very cozy and welcoming; it was also decorated for the holidays which made it much easier to locate, as well. Upon arrival, we noticed that he had left us with some notes regarding the WiFi, the location of more space heaters and blankets if needed, local restaurants, grocery stores, or gas stations to visit and their respective distances, etc. The beds were already made (one in the main room and the sleeper sofa in the living room), but he brought us separate new sheets just in case we required it. A separate pet bed was also already laid out in the living room for our dog who was joining us. The TV offers a variety of streaming services for visitors to peruse and is very easy to utilize. The kitchen was very well-appointed and was supplied with a variety of small appliances and equipment, such as pots, pans, bowls, mixing utensils, plates, and cups which only enhanced our stay. The bathroom was clean and supplied with new washcloths, soap, and shampoo to use, if needed. The washer and dryer were also housed within the bathroom which offered a high quality of convenience as my family and I spent the majority of our stay hiking and exploring the outdoors. Overall, Jerry was very accommodating and permitted us with the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful little getaway for the entire family and we would definitely return.

A beautiful respite from stress

Jerry was an excellent host! The property was in a beautiful location and breakfasts out on the porch enjoying the birds and scenery was great. Very close to old rag and white oak trailheads for those interested inhiking two of the best hikes in shenandoah. The only negative was spotty internet access on occasion. I guess that its the price you pay for seclusion and it is notlimited to jerrys property

Wonderful getaway

We had a wonderful few days at Jerry's little cottage! Everything was just like the pictures and so clean and cozy. Jerry even came by and talked with us and we learned we had a lot in common! We also saw deer and even bald eagles on the property! Would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Stay!

Comfortable, clean and peaceful! Cottage is a perfect place to stay while exploring the area. Jerry is one of the best hosts I have encountered, very thoughtful but respectful of privacy. He is available to help with suggestions to ensure you have the best trip possible. Would definitely recommend Jerry's place to anyone coming to the area and/or wanting to hike Old Rag!

Perfect place for Shenandoah

When I go back to the park, I will be staying here. Perfect location for access to Old Rag Mountain and the middle entrance of the park to drive north or south on Skyline Drive. The host couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly.
