My family of 4 had a great stay at Rickâs home. The duplex had everything we needed for our visit. The beach chairs, umbrella, and shark tooth sifter were a huge bonus. Downtown was an easy walk and there is a park at the end of the street that the kids enjoyed. The beach wasnât walkable for us due to the amount of stuff we had. As others have stated, the neighborhood is nice and quiet.
We so enjoyed our stay at this property. We found the use of the garage perfect for our bikes and equipment. The access to the trail systems, the beach, downtown, restaurants, shops, etc. was amazing. You did not need a car. The property is spacious and quiet, and had everything we needed. We will be back!
Super clean and very spacious. The condo has pretty much everything needed to feel like home. Location is superb only a few blocks from the town center and beach. Owner is polite and cares about your stay. Seriously, I've stayed in many VRBOs and this was likely my best stay. No doubt the best stay on Venice Island for the money. Only one suggestion, renters want to know everything will go as scheduled. Contacting renters the day before check-in gives them confidence all is well. It would be better to provide renters check-in confirmation a day or two before rather than the day of check-in. Also, unit has washer and dryer as listed in the description but adding a photo of the washer and dryer would bring assurance the listing is correct.
If you want a great stay, this is your place!
I'm hesitant to leave a good review because then it will get booked up!!! This place met our needs very well. Clean, comfy, spacious, conveniently located in safe, quiet, walkable, lovely neighborhood. Close to town of Venice and beach. (One could walk to either, but free parking can't be beat!)
The screened porch made for a perfect spot to enjoy coffee in the mornings.
The property is updated and the photos don't actually do it justice. The only recommendation would be a queen rather than full bed in the second bedroom so that two couples could stay and each have a bedroom with a queen bed.
Communication with host was very good.
Great stay! Thanks,!
I have been a host since purchasing my grandparent's cabin on Lake Superior in Lutsen, MN in 2009. I grew up in the Twin Cities, received a bachelor's degree at the University of Minnesota and a master's degree at UCLA. I met my wife in California, and in 2019 we visited my aunt and my cousins who have lived in Sarasota for decades. They all recommended Sarasota as the best city in Florida - and we agreed. We fell in love with Venice Island, on the south end of Sarasota County, because it reminded us a of California, with all the benefits of Florida like warm weather, biking, boating, and family. We currently live on the St. Croix River in Wisconsin, just outside St. Paul, MN.
We found this property via word of mouth when biking through the neighborhood. We love it's location - we wanted a property on a quiet street where we could have the windows open without listening to traffic noise. And we wanted to be able to walk to the beach - with a cup of coffee in the morning, or a cocktail in the evening. With this location we walk to Historic Downtown Venice with its many restaurants, bars and shops. If not walking we usually ride our bikes to Island destinations, such as the North Jetty, the Venice Pier w Sharkyâs/Finnâs restaurant, Caspersan Beach or even to Publix for groceries (unless we have a large shopping list!). The Island is such a wonderful place for exploring: via the 5-mile Venice Island tour bike route, walks to the many parks, or even for a nice Sunday drive. And everything Sarasota has to offer is close too. Finally, the Island doesn't suffer from the tourist traffic during the seasonal month like many of the keys do; there is never a 45 minute traffic jam to get on/off the Island like there is on Siesta Key, for instance.
