Great property for a family get together the week of July 4th. Excellent property, great location, close to everything on the island (downtown, beach, restaurants, etc.). Highly recommend. Minor glitch with door code, owner called immediately with solution. Perfect.
Richard was very accommodating to help us out with our stay. Only problem we had was one of the remotes didnât work, but one remote worked on both TVâs.
Lovely unit in a great location. The place was very clean! There are two bikes in the garage. They were perfect for a ride to the beach and around historic Venice. We will be back!
This property had an excellent location for all around enjoyment. An easy walk or bike to downtown Venice for breakfast or to grab a cup of coffee. An equally easy walk to the sandy beaches on the ocean. The property was clean and had everything needed for an enjoyable get away. Communication with the owner was excellent as well. Do not hesitate to book.
Had a great stay. The owners thought of every detail when setting up this rental. We needed nothing. Bikes, beach chairs, grill, full and complete kitchen and tastefully decorated. Clean and tidy and minutes from town and a few blocks from the beach. Thanks again Richard!
After working through a bumpy check-in we had a very pleasant stay in this unpretentious unit with our family of four. The owner was pleasant and quick to respond. The unit was clean and the location is excellent, within walking distance to everything. Although there is a useful screened-in porch, there is not a terrace or patio to enjoy the sunshine. Air conditioning and ceiling fans worked great and all appliances are in very good shape.
We had a wonderful stay. The duplex was very clean and comfortable. The owner, Richard, was so attentive to our needs. The location was wonderful. Very close to downtown and the beach. We would love to stay there again!
Overall we had a very pleasant experience at this property. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars on cleanliness is the coffee pot had some mold it in. (We just bought a cheap one and left it there) and the one bed spread on the single bed had some dirt on it. We were able to throw it in the washer and dryer. Everything else was great and the process very easy. We would stay there again.
We arrived to a spotless vacation rental. Everything was so perfect! I have been to the area many times, so I had a general idea of the location. It was exactly what we wanted/needed! And, we got to meet the owners! They were very kind and accommodating! Thank you for making our stay wonderful!
The property was even more spacious and nice than the photos suggested. Quick easy access to the beach, groceries, and local shops. Everything was a quick walk or bike ride away. The sheets and towels were incredibly soft. The master shower is a bit small, but that is wasnât an issue for us.
I have been a host since purchasing my grandparent's cabin on Lake Superior in Lutsen, MN in 2009. I grew up in the Twin Cities, received a bachelor's degree at the University of Minnesota and a master's degree at UCLA. I met my wife in San Diego, and in 2019 we visited my aunt and my cousins who have lived in Sarasota for decades. They all recommended Sarasota as the best city in Florida - and we agreed. We fell in love with Venice Island, on the south end of Sarasota County, because it reminded us a of California, with all the benefits of Florida like warm weather, biking, boating, and family. We currently live on the St. Croix River in Wisconsin, just outside St. Paul, MN.
We found this property via word of mouth when biking through the neighborhood. We love it's location - we wanted a property where we could walk to the beach with a cup of coffee in the morning, or a cocktail in the evening. Also we can walk to the many restaurants, bars and shops in downtown Venice. I usually ride my bike to Publix for groceries unless we have a large shopping list. Finally, the Island is such a wonderful place to ride your bike with the 5-mile Venice Island tour bike route, or just walk to the many parks, or even for a nice drive. And everything Sarasota has to offer is close too. Finally, the Island doesn't suffer from the tourist traffic during the seasonal month like many of the keys do; there is never a 45 minute traffic jam to get on/off the Island like there is on Siesta Key, for instance.
