This place served me and my 2 sons perfectly, quiet and away from the city but close enough to make several trips into San Ignacio a day. The staff were excellent and made us feel 100% at home
This property is worth every penny. Close enough to San Ignacio that most tours picked me up for free or a small fee. I took a morning walk to the orchard, enjoyed incredible food at the on site restaurant, and everyone working there made us feel extremely well taken care of. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.
Our familt of 4 had an excellent stay with Rose, Rod and family. Very personable hosts and Rose's cooking in amazing. The Cabin was very comfortable and was equipt with everything we needed and if we didn't we just had to ask. We'll definitely be back!
Mel and Rose made our stay convenient. Theyâre easy to reply and attend to our questions and needs. The place is a good location for excursions and was absolutely the right choice for us as we were planning to drive to Guatemala.
We stayed for 10 days and the cabin had all the essentials nevessary for a comfortable stay. The best part was our hosts who were available for questions and tours around the property. They made our experince in Belize much more exciting and left a long lasting impression.
Melody is very helpful, simple but nice restaurant on site, love cabin 3 , great location for anyone wants to get away. Enjoyed morning coffee and evening drinks in the screened patio. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.
We stayed here for four nights while in Cayo. Cabin 3 was very comfortable for our family of four, and the setting was quite nice, with lots of hummingbirds and toucans coming to the property. We also really enjoyed the breakfasts. Staff was responsive and helpful with arranging transportation and such. Getting around can be somewhat inconvenient without a car, but I think this is true for most places in the San Ignacio area. Would definitely recommend.
Rosa is the grandmother and would cook specific off the menu meals for us. She noticed we arrived late and knew we would be hungry. We felt taken care of fully with last minute transport requests and food. The space is absolutely lovely and spending time on the porch was magical watching Tucans fly and listening to the jungle sounds. The driver Rod was questionable but besides that I would highly reccomend staying here. The Monkey Falls nearby were lovely and we had them all to ourselves. The grounds were covered with beautiful orchids, plants and bird. The place had some mystic ancient energy for sure. Felt really great supporting a local family!
We had such an amazing time here. The small kitchen was well stocked and we cooked most of our meals here. Beds were comfortable, the grounds are gorgeous. Melody and Rod were extremely helpful with recommendations and made everything so easy!! We asked for a ride to and from the airport and then rented their car for a couple days. This meant we could explore town ourselves without wasting money on a rental car when we had guided tours. We also had several amazing meals at the restaurant on site. We highly recommend the stuffed jacks!! The screened porch was a lovely place to hang out after a day of adventures!
We enjoyed our stay at Monkey Falls very much. The onsite restaurant was perfect and delicious. The host, Melody, and her brother were very helpful. There was a little problem with termites swarming with the beginning of the rainy season, which apparently only happens at the first rain. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.
Melody is a great host, going out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. She provided great recommendations for activities, transportation, and shopping. She even gave us a ride into San Ignacio on short notice when our cab didn't show up. Having a car as part of the rental was a huge convenience, but we only needed it two days out of a week because many of the trip companies were willing to pick us up at the VRBO. Location is close enough to San Ignacio to take advantage of all the town has to offer, but you still feel secluded in the "jungle." Only negative is that the kitchen is a little difficult to cook full meals in due to a very old stove and limited pots/pans/utensils.
