Private and peaceful on 4 acres with lawn and woods for you to enjoy the outdoors. Refreshing pool open in the summer. Deepest point is 8 feet. Grill and eat outside on the large wood deck. Deer, hummingbirds, and butterflies are often hanging around.
Only 2.5 hours or less from NYC. Fast WiFi (200+ mbps) and good cell service.
House borders commercial train tracks on one side, separated by trees and large lawn but in sight during the winter. You will hear trains going by or an old-fashioned train whistle occasionally. Our kids love to listen for it!
Note that there is open access to the pool. The stairs going upstairs to the bedrooms and full bathroom are steep, and the upstairs hallway is open to the downstairs. There are handrails and railings, but house is NOT recommended for families with young children. All children must be supervised at all times around the pool. Exterior security camera placed only in the driveway area.
We had a really nice stay and this wonderful home. The Property was very private, The house was clean and well kept, The owners were very helpful with anything we would have needed, The Pool was very relaxing, Hope to visit again one day. Highly reccomended.
This property was great for a visit to the area. It is secluded yet close to amenities in area
The wood stove inside was great and was used every night while watching movies.
We were beyond the pool season but will return to this property again as we have family in the area
The road leading up was horrendous. The host told me it was passable. Barely. My son-in-law's car was damaged and I left my car at the bottom of the road and walked up and down about 10 times and then the cops put a sticker on it saying it would be towed so I had to bring it up. The cabin needs to be more secure. There should be inside locks and lights outside that stay on. The pool was very nice but because of the lack of lights, nobody went swimming at night. Not worth the very high price.
We were so lucky that we stayed at the "cozy cabin" at the height of Autumn colors, along with perfect weather. It was as if we were out in the middle of a beautiful forest -- and yet there were houses, and the town, close by. The use of the wood-burning fireplace just added to the "coziness." The hosts could not have been nicer! We had mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday -- and they left a little cake with candles! The beds were very comfortable and very nice linens also, the house was clean, and there were plenty of paper products also. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this "cozy cabin"!
Bo's house was amazing. The layout, the amenities, the pool, the serene environment, from A to Z. While the town is small, there are a couple of decent restaurants and Great Barrington is about 20 min away with a lot of options. Tons to do in the Berkshires, but the house itself is a great spot if you just want to relax. I am certain we will return.
Picked this place specifically for the pool. Take a dip right outside the door! House was well maintained and comfortable. Secluded but only 5 min from the small town. Some freight train noise but not a deal-breaker.
My family and I have been visiting the Berkshires for years before deciding to put down roots in the area. We love our log cabin because it's cozy and comfortable, and close to many of the things we enjoy in the Berkshires area. We hope you love it too!
