The Golden Sands, located in Ocean City, offers everything a vacationer could want without needing to leave the building complex. Enjoy the beach, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, oceanfront volleyball, and game and exercise rooms! During the summer season, visit the beach bar and grill, sandwich shop, convenience store, and gift shops. The historic Ocean City Boardwalk, with its carnival atmosphere, great food, and superb nightlife, is located five miles south. You can also plan a fun family day at Jolly Roger Amusement Park and Splash Mountain Waterpark, only four miles south.

Wake up every single day to the unmistakable sound of the crashing waves at this perfect beach condo! This updated home has everything you and your guests could ever need to spend a carefree and restful vacation. It features a well-equipped kitchen with all the essentials, central air-conditioning, a private balcony overlooking the water and tennis courts, an on-site washer/dryer for your laundry needs, private WiFi, comfortable and inviting furniture, and a TV with cable.

Things to Know
The building provides complimentary WiFi as a courtesy, but it is not guaranteed.
The indoor pool and large outdoor pool will not accommodate children in diapers. There is an outdoor kiddie pool provided for children in diapers.
Per building management, cannabis is prohibited everywhere on the Golden Sands grounds.
Ocean City has adopted a noise control ordinance that makes it unlawful to cause or permit noise levels which exceed those established by the Department of the Environment of the State of Maryland (COMAR 26.02.03.02) or are in violation of Chapter 30, Article V of the Town Code. It shall be a violation of this agreement and grounds for eviction under Maryland law if these noise levels are exceeded as a result of activity on this property. Ocean City has other noise ordinances, which are criminal offenses if violated.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Fantastic 8 Day Trip

We have stayed at the Golden Sands four years in a row and 501 was the best of the four. You can tell the owners take pride in their property. Reasonably priced and good amenities. Will book this one next year if available!

Overall great experience

The condo was clean and the bedroom/bed set up was perfect. The back patio of the complex was really great to gather with a larger group. Our only complaint was the stairwells smelled terrible. The elevators were busy so we wanted to take the stairs but it required holding our breath the whole time.

Perfect place for families!!

The house was fully stocked with every thing we needed from toys to all the kitchen supplies. The views were amazing, beds were comfy, the house was clean and loaded and so many memories were made.

House excellent but not clean

This is our second year staying at 501. Beds are firm and TVs are all nice with cable. Decent stock of cookware. However when we arrived we found that two of the three bathrooms were not cleaned at all. There was used soap 🧼 in the soap dish and scum and hair on the bathtub and shower walls. The toilets were dirty. Bathroom floors were sandy. There was sand in both tubs. In the kitchen we found that the coffee maker still had used grounds in the basket and the entire thing was nasty and dirty and worn out. The toaster didn’t work unless you held down the lever. The sink and tub in hall bathroom were clogged. Vacasa sent someone to unclog and the drains were full of scum and hair which he put into our trash can. Yuck. All dishes and utensils in the cupboard and drawers were dirty. The utensil drawer was disgusting. Needless to say I spent the whole first day cleaning everything. The linens were on the beds but I decided to check out the mattresses and under the sheets there was hair and dirt so I had to wash all the linens. The mattress pad and master bedroom comforter had blood stains on them. I didn’t use them. The towels vacasa supplied were hard and thin and smelly. Luckily I had brought my own. The pillows seemed nice but I brought my own. All of the floors were filthy and sandy. So although the unit smelled like cleaner one wonders if they sprayed it around to appear like it was cleaned. After I called to alert vacasa about the condition of the unit they offered to send a cleaning person the next day but I had already cleaned as there was long black hair and dirt everywhere including in the bathroom and bedroom drawers. I’m supposed to get my cleaning fee refunded but hasn’t happened yet. Vacasa delivered a new coffee maker and toaster the second day. The sofa and love seat are very worn and dirty. I feel bad for the owners as they made great effort to provide a nice rental but the cleaning service is very negligent and lacking. Golden sands is in need of remodeling and some updated entertainment but all in all it’s still a nice family place to go. As usual the staff was burned out since it was the last week of summer but that’s expected.

Good time, but off to a rough start.

We love Ocean City! Our family has vacationed here for many years. This condo was the first negative experience we had. We walked into a dirty space that had not been cleaned. Sand and hair everywhere, all surfaces of tables, faucets, kitchen counter, floors and carpets were dirty. We contacted. Vacasa right away and they tried to help and resolve the issue by sending someone back to clean but it wasn’t done right until the next day when the cleaning company owner came in the morning. The local manager was very helpful and apologetic so we were thankful that she was willing to help us out. Once the condo was finally clean we could unpack and settle in for a relaxing week. We enjoyed the location and the facilities at Golden Sands. We played volleyball, ping pong, pickle ball, and corn hole throughout the week! The beach was busy but our whole family enjoyed the view and spending time on the beach during the week. The cleaning issue was unfortunate. Only other cons to this property was the old and uncomfortable living room furniture and some of the beds were also not comfortable for sleeping. Two queen beds had recently been replaced and those were fine. Note from the owners assured that new living room furniture had been ordered so maybe it will be replaced soon. Plan on brining paper supplies, any cleaning supplies you may need, and garbage bags as the starter kit that was left did not last long. Dryer stopped working a few days before we left also. Despite these issues we enjoyed our stay in OCMD! We would return to the Golden Sands but would choose a different unit and ask about the cleaning company next time.

Golden sands 501

Room was very nice, clean with a great beach view and spacious to accommodate 7 people. Couch in living room was a little outdated compared to everything else in the house but was still fine. Only complaint I had is that one of the bathrooms tub and sink clogged up the first day of arrival and could not be used at all. Then another bathroom sink clogged up on the last day there.
