Carolâs Cabin in the Woods in Historic Hoosier Hills
This is a very quiet, secluded property on 58 acres with a nice hiking trail, clean pond and lots of outdoor space. We bought the property for family gatherings and sharing with special guests. Amish country and Amish stores close by. 30 minutes to Madison In.and 15 minutes to Vevay In. 1 hour the the Ark museum and the Creation museum .

My small group wanted to relax in a quiet setting and Carolâs cabin was perfect. Extremely clean, well-provisioned, quiet and private with a beautiful property to stroll around. Would definitely come back!
The hiking trail was perfect for my 2 little kiddos. The property was gorgeous. The cabin was clean. The host was very responsive and stopped in to give us some extra towels. Weâve stayed at a lot of cabins. And weâll be returning to this one. It was great. The front and back porch were huge and clean and great to watch the rain.
Very quiet and nice getaway from Gary, Indiana area for kids and adults. We wish we had more time to spend at your property. My son and grandson would like to return during deer hunting.
A Peaceful Escape at Carolâs Cabin in the WoodsWe couldnât have asked for a more peaceful and charming getaway than our stay at Carolâs Cabin in the Woods. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that John has poured a lot of love and thought into every detail. The cabin itself was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we neededâfrom a fully stocked kitchen to comfortable beds and thoughtful touches throughout. We especially loved the wraparound porch that let us take in the sights and sounds of nature at every turn. The setting is truly serene. Surrounded by tall trees and tucked away from the noise of the world, the only sounds we heard were birdsong, a distant owl at night, and the rustle of leaves in the breeze. Whether sipping coffee in the morning mist, roasting marshmellows in the firepit, or fishing in the lake, we felt completely renewed.John was a gracious hostâresponsive and kind. The hiking trails on the property and scenic drives made it easy to explore the beauty of Hoosier National Forest. If youâre looking to unplug, recharge, and reconnect with nature (or with each other), this cabin is a hidden gem. Weâre already talking about when we can return.
Beautiful landscape and pond! We loved fishing and the kiddo's loved running around. I wouldn't advertise this as a 4 bedroom. It's a 3 bedroom with a pullout bed in the living area. We were dismayed about that, but made it work. LadyUnfortunatelytherewerehundreds of of
We wanted to get away for a bit and we hit the jackpot with this place! It was very clean, well stocked and a beautiful property. You can definitely tell that the property is well kept and maintained. We loved hiking the trails with our dogs. The scenery is beautiful! If you want a peaceful, relaxing experience to unplug and enjoy Godâs creation, or quality time, this is your place! We definitely will return to in the future!
The property was picture perfect as was the cabin. The host came by to visit and brought us a bottle of wine. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend quality time with family while unplugging and relaxing.
Property was beautiful. About 25 minutes from town. Great porches to watch the deer and wildlife. Host was so wonderful. Can not wait to come back and stay again.
Wow! What a great place! Very comfortable, so much to do! We explored the property daily, had bonfires, made big breakfasts, grilled everynight. Highly recommend
Exactly as advertised. Great spot for a family getaway. So peaceful and beautiful. Easy drive to downtown Vevay for restaurant and shopping options.
Really enjoyed being able to take my dog on a walk through the woods. We spent many hours around the firepit in the backyard.
We would absolutely stay here again.
Stayed at Carolâs Cabin with my family for the weekend. The cabin was prefect for the seven of us including two children. The pond and the trails in the woods made it nice to walk the dogs. Plenty of room for outside activities. Went to Madison for the day which is about a 20 minute drive. We would stay again.
This is the perfect place to have a quiet nature vacation. The house was well-equipped and comfortable. The property outside has lots of space and trails to enjoy. The first half of the week had snow and we played in it for three days. Then it melted and revealed lots of trails and the pond that we really enjoyed. Highly recommend.
We met friends here to tour along the Ohio River on motorcycles. We all loved this cabin. The big, well stocked kitchen was large enough for all of us. The bedrooms had room for all our stuff. A couple of our friends loved walking the beautiful property each morning.
Each evening we all sat out on the fantastic front porch for hours enjoying the peace and quiet and catching up with each other and enjoying a bottle of wine our host gave us.
John, our host, told us of a local road to ride and it was a great ride. We decided we will come back next time later in the fall when leaves have changed. Really anytime of year this cabin would be a perfect choice.
John was very welcoming and hospitable. The property was private and allowed our dogs and four boys to run and be wild without disturbing anyone. The pond was great for fishing and the cabin was very clean and well stocked. Even though the cabin was not set up for small children, it was child proof enough that we could relax even with four boys under the age of 7. The only potential improvement would be having the wooded trails cleaned up a bit and providing a map or description so we had a better idea of where the trails went. With young kids, we need an idea of how long weâll be hiking to prepare properly. Otherwise everything was perfect.
Iâm retired. I live in Versailles In. Itâs about 1/2 hour away. I also own another farm and cabin about 5 minutes away. I enjoy making home wine. Blackberry,Elderberry, grape, peach and pear. I always share a bottle with my guest when requested
Each guest has always comments how quiet and peaceful the property is. It has all the amenities. Beautiful pond with good fishing and swimming. Close to Madison In and Vevay In. Great get away from the busy word.
