{Sunnyside Wilds} An Ideal Spot for Exploring Asheboro
Welcome to this warm and inviting home located in quaint Downtown Asheboro, just 10 minutes to the North Carolina Zoo. All of the amenities you could ever need are included to make for a great family stay or a romantic getaway. The space features 2 beds (but not 2 bedrooms. The second room with a bed is a small single in the back room THROUGH the main bedroom), 1 bath, a large living space, a bar top table for dining, a work desk, washer and dryer, and a uniquely tiled bathroom & kitchen. The living room has a 70 inch smart TV and a sectional sofa that can sleep 1-2 adults or kids if needed. Please note that there are just the king bed and the twin bed (setup as described) and then a large sectional sofa (categorized as a futon by VRBO). The queen mentioned in beds is a blow up air mattress (sheets in the closet)
Good location, spacious house. bed was comfortable after I used the cinderblock that was under the bed- to support the middle of the bed frame. House cleaning crew could have done better. Used sponge left out, trash in the trash can. Molding around doors and floor was dirty. Occasionally there was a strong order in bathroom. I believe this was coming from the toilet that was not bolted down. Kitchen was ok, but limited in pans and utensils. For the price we were we made it work but would not stay here again.
We just stopped to break up a long car trip. The property was exactly as listed. It met our needs. We had trouble getting the key pad to unlock, I reached out to Allen and he unlocked then relocked (as we were leaving) the door remotely. We had a great stay.
The property itself will take you by surprise. Once you step inside its so cozy and still so elegant. The living room tv is massive and great picture, and the living room suit was something i wish i had at home! The bed must have been one of those space mattresses because ive never slept so sound. 10/10 will re visit
Location was great for the zoo! Driving up was a little concerning but was perfect for 1 night. Very close drive or walking distance from restaurants and a beautiful park. The furniture was very very worn and broken. The couch has been broken and repaired and was not comfortable to sleep on. The blow up and sheets were found in the closet but difficult to know if they were clean or not. They were just balled up in there. We did have an issue with check in and communication with owner was just ok as we waited about 5 mins for response at check in when code was not working and then didnât hear again from them until many hours later. The emergency number we were told to call did not answer calls or texts and VM was not an option after instructed to leave VM. Wallâs are very thin and you can hear every car pass.
Home is very clean inside. Needs some cleaning up on the side porch. King size bed is very comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom are nice. Good place for a small group.
We loved how quick the drive was to the zoo, our main reason for visiting the area! It was also within walking distance to some great antique shops and restaurants!
#1 this is a duplex and I do not remember seeing this anywhere in the listing. With a noisy toddler (despite efforts to keep her calm) this keeps me on edge. #2 the house is basically sitting on the street which makes for a lot of road noise.. what little bit of yard there was the grass was overgrown #3 our door code didnât work at check in.. I reached out to the property owner he said âwhat was it supposed to beâ I gave him the code and more than 10 mins went by before we heard the lock being manipulated.. he never told us what he was doing.. my husband just happened to try again and it worked. 10 mins may not seem long but when itâs 90 degrees outside, you have a toddler and are sitting on a strangers porch that is right on the road 10 mins is a long time.#4 & the biggest issue was thermostat was set to 79 when we arrived. this may not be an issue to some, but for us with a toddler and myself being 5.5 months pregnant.. 79 was hot. There are no ceiling fans. There is a fan/light in the master bedroom but the wall switch did nothing.. I reached out again & asked if there was a remote that I was missing and he told me itâs broken and they have one to replace it but havenât done it yet.. he directed me to a box fan in the spare room. He also told me that the hvac is only a year old & the unit isnât big so it should cool off soon. We checked in at 3:30 it didnât reach temp until the next morning. I told him.. no reply.#5 the bathroom smells of sewageJust find a hotel.
Easy check in, property was clean on the surface but could use a good deep clean on baseboards, nooks and corners.
Overall, property served its purpose and was freshly updated.
Ideal location for a trip to the zoo! It was about a 10 minute drive from the house to the zoo. Plenty of options for a quick bite to eat. Had plans to explore the downtown area but didnât realize most places were closed on Sunday.
House was clean and host was extremely responsive/helpful.
Ok place to stay but the furniture is very worn and crumbs and dirt in between cushions. Other than that the host was kind, easy to work with and the place was very cute!
It was a great experience! Easy drive to zoo :) Perfect for a small family. Steps are really deep on the porch, which may be difficult for some. Would definately stay again on out next zoo trip!!
Great location, can walk to several eateries, a brewery, and a tap house. We came down to play Tot Hill Farm and it was a nice 12-minute drive. Will definitely try to stay here again next time we play Tot Hill and other area courses. Highly recommend Holly Ridge.
Nice renovations, clean, comfortable
We were pleased with the accommodations. The house is in a pretty quiet area, it is very nice, and not far from the zoo. We had an amazing time with our 6 yr old granddaughter! Owner of the house was easy to get a hold of and really nice. Would recommend and would stay again. Thanks!!
