Lakeside Getaway Just West of Sioux Falls

A hidden gem tucked into the inlet of Wall Lake, just 10 minutes west of Sioux Falls, SD! Not only a fishermen’s paradise, it’s also great for a calm kayak or paddle board ride, or venture straight out into the lake to enjoy a swim. At night enjoy roasting marshmallows by the fire and lounging in a hammock. The sunsets over the farmland will take your breath away. In the winter, enjoy your own private ice skating rink. The perfect getaway for a family and stocked with baby gear if needed.

The space
From our large deck, you’ll walk directly into the main level of our home and when you head downstairs you will walk right out to the waterfront. The inlet is the perfect place to do some fishing or hop into a kayak or onto a paddle board (provided) and paddle out to Wall Lake. Power boats/jet skis (that you may bring) are able to come into the inlet and could be tied up to our dock using your own supplies.

Swimming in the inlet is not advised, but it's perfect for calm kayaking and paddle boarding. The public beach is just a short drive or beautiful walk away. During the winter, as weather conditions allow, we keep an "ice rink" cleared off and we have an assortment of ice skates available.

Guest access
You are able to access the entire home. Seasonally we will have two kayaks, a paddle board, and an assortment of life jackets available for your use. In the winter will will have ice skates.

This place is a wonderful setting for hosting others, which Is why we decided to make it our home. We hope you will have an unforgettable experience during your stay with us along with your family and friends.

We rarely have to charge for rules violations because a vast majority of our guests are couples or groups of family and friends who treat our home and our neighbors with respect. If you want a place to party (any gathering larger than 12, unless discussed before booking, is considered a violation of the house rules), smoke inside, make noise, etc. then this is not the house for you. Otherwise, we are very understanding and are looking forward to your stay with us!

Please let us know if you are expecting visitors above and beyond those registered guests.

Fees for Rules Violations:
Unauthorized Parties - $1,000 plus immediate termination of booking
Noise Complaints - $500 per for verified noise complaints
Smoking - $500 for smoking evidence indoors or within 20 yards of house
Each additional Guests (over 12 people who are not approved before booking)- $100 each
Fireworks are strictly prohibited.

Host was available and responded quickly. She was very nice to work with. The house was perfect for our weekend events in Sioux Falls. The drive was a short 18 minutes, and we loved waking up to a great view. Excellent experience all around!

Teens & adults said it was one of our best Annual Family Vacations. This is the 7th year that we've gotten together. There was so much to do: Turner County Fair, kayaking, meteor watching, The Falls, in addition to our usual game nights, craft contest, and just plain relaxing and reconnecting.

Great place for a family getaway!

This property matched the listing. It was clean and comfortable. The accommodation was perfect for a big family. The location wasn't close to any restaurants or stores, but it is on a lake so if you're looking for a getaway this is a perfect place! Our hosts were easy to work with and made us feel welcome.

We had such a great time—the home was the perfect place for us to relax, make memories, and enjoy some quality family time.We especially loved being able to use the kayaks and paddle board —those moments out on the water were definitely highlights of our trip! The peaceful setting and all the thoughtful touches in the home made our stay even more special.Jessica was a very responsive hostess. The neighborhood was very peaceful and quiet. We kayaked and paddle boarded from the dock out back all the way to the beach and spent the day, highly recommend!

Relaxing

Great place to go if your looking for some quiet time. Do a little fishing right out the back door or just sit outside beside the fire pit and cook on the BBQ pit. This is a very peaceful place to recharge yourself.

Sioux Falls Trip

Beautiful place. Peaceful and super clean. We really enjoyed ourselves and couldn't ask for more. The Location was spot on and Sioux Falls was only a 10 minute drive away. Which was perfect for us too see family & of course do a little shopping. We highly recommend this home.

The weathere was cool and wet and the graduation activities in Sioux falls kept us busy so we did not get to do much at the VRBO but given more time and better temperatures it would be great.

Quiet location

We enjoyed our 2 days here on the lake. We liked that the house was out of the hustle and bustle and had almost everything you could need. Beds were small for our teenage kids and house could use some updating. House is geared more for little ones.

A Space for All

Great place to relax and hang out with family! Lots of spaces to gather together or have some quiet time on your own. No hot tub that's listed just a jacuzzi tub. Be sure the check out the Outdoor Conservation Learning Area down the road & the new short 9 hole disc golf course @ Wall Lake Park!

Such a great home, great hosts!

We had such a great stay, the home was so roomy and clean. We had a girls trip and this ended up being the perfect place. The weather was rainy in the morning so we weren’t able to utilize the dock right off the property, but we did go to the public beach that afternoon and it was very clean. We only had to reach out once to the hosts during our stay and they were quick and kind with their response. We had a party of 7 in total and there was more than enough room for us. We would absolutely stay here again.

Our family had a nice stay at this home. It’s clearly set up to accommodate families particularly with smaller children. The beds or bunk beds are all pretty small for our larger teen and adult kids. Otherwise the home was inviting.

Fun Family Stay

We stayed at the property for a multigenerational Thanksgiving holiday with a side of pheasant hunting. It was a great place that accommodated a group of 8 with a couple well trained pups. Very convenient to have some space in the garage for staging of hunting gear/dog crates. We were able to cook and enjoy a pretty extensive holiday meal…the only item we wish we had was a meat thermometer, which is hardly to be expected! Would love to stay again given the convenience to Sioux Falls and our family connections!

Serenity

The environment was very peaceful and serene. It was chilly so we didn't spend much time outside. We are looking forward to booking this another time and getting more time to explore the lake and possibly sit outside in the evenings. The house was big enough for a large family and well stocked for general things that are required for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed cooking and eating around a large enough table to accommodate eight people.

Girls trip

We traveled from Rapid City and Tulsa, OK to gather for Freeman’s Schmeckfest. The location worked great for us, and since we had 7 grandkids that ranged in age from 3 months to 10 years of age, the basement was a great place to send them to burn off energy! The kitchen was fabulous! The bed configuration worked okay for us, but if husbands had been with us, I don’t think it would have worked as well. Our only negatives were the lighting in both bathrooms is terrible for getting ready. Replacing the round bed with a true King sized bed should be done, as the bed wasn’t very comfortable for my daughter and her 2 toddlers that used it.

Welcome to the Wall Lake Getaway! We are a family of 6 and have hosted groups in our home for over 3 years. Lando is the Pastor of a little country church just north of where we live. We love the outdoors and being on the water and are excited to be raising our family out in the simplicity of this setting. We used to run Lutheran Camps and Conference Centers so we are no stranger to hosting guests and groups and thoroughly enjoy doing it!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Just 10 minutes west of Sioux Falls, this home will give you the best of both worlds - being close to SO many wonderful things to do AND the peace and serene atmosphere of being able to escape to the country and enjoy the outdoors.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We have two kayaks, a paddle board, a large jumbo hammock, fire pit and trampoline for you to enjoy during the warmer weather. In the winter we try and keep the frozen inlet prepared as an "ice rink" and provide an assortment of sizes of ice skates (but it never hurts to bring your own!
