The sky and blue ridge mountains loom large past floor-to-ceiling windows at this modern luxury ski lodge home on Wintergreen Mountain. High Country Lodge is the newest and largest edition to the Wintergreen Retreat portfolio of fine mountain homes. You will be impressed with the large open floor plan and thoughtfully curated décor throughout the home. The new owners have meticulously remodeled this house with attention to details, so you can be assured of a comfortable stay with quality furnishings and accessories.
The main level includes the soaring, light filled Great Room with cathedral ceiling & stone fireplace, multiple sitting areas and a impressive game room complete with a pool table and bar.
The upper level has the master suite with a King bed and sitting area, and a second bedroom with Queen bed.
The lower level has 4 bedrooms, including a large kid’s room complete with Video arcade and large screen TV for gaming/streaming.
The High Country Lodge @Wintergreen Retreat is a vacation rental home within the Wintergreen Resort in Virginia in the prestigious Devil's Knob Loop area. It is a modern meets rustic elegant mountain lodge that comfortably sleeps up to 23 in 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths.

Perfect for our extended family

The house is perfect for all ages and interests, as there is something for everyone and plenty of space for everyone on the main floor. We were able to play pool, read books, finish a jigsaw puzzle, visit with each other, and make and eat meals together with plenty of room to spare. The master bedrooms are beautiful, and the bedrooms on the ground floor allowed 10 of us to sleep comfortably and have a spot for alone time. A short walk from the house ends with beautiful sunsets. The pool table and other fames were such a hit with everyone.

The BEST!

Me and my family of 23 always go out of town for Thanksgivings holidays. This home was exceptional!! Beautiful, clean, cozy and amazing mountains views. We received great customer service from Nathan the landlord, he is amazing! We will definitely be back to this home! Thank you Nathan for making our stay a memorable one!

Great place!

Great fit for our larger multi family group. Short drive to the skier drop off/ pick up and great accommodations in the house. We’ve stayed multiple years and I suspect we will stay multiple more!

Spectacular Wedding Weekend

We couldn’t have had a better weekend! Our host was very easy to communicate with and the house was beautiful. Would highly recommend for large gatherings. Proximity to outlooks and outdoor activities can’t be beat!

Family Celebration

Family gathered together to celebrate a college graduation. It was the perfect place to accommodate such a large group of people. The owner was great and very hospitable. I highly recommend this property for large groups, it has plenty of space and all the necessities.

Lots of space and excellent location

We had 10 adults and 11 kids gather for a week of family fun. This home has plenty of common space to spread out. The deck is great for relaxing. Wintergreen Resort and the surrounding areas have plenty of options available for things to do. Good food, good music, hiking, etc.

JMU golf weekend

The house and fall views were amazing! 12 guys for a golf weekend and everyone enjoyed themselves! Thanks for the stayover and we will be back!

Weekend Retreat

The property was spacious and well kept. We did have a problem with the kitchen window. It wasn't completely shut and because handles had been removed, we couldn't close it. Manager was alerted. Suggested that we use space heater until he could get maintenance, Things worked out. Also door in Master bedroom 1 was out of alignment and twice we had someone who couldn't get out. Otherwise everything went well.

Amazing!!

The host was incredibly accommodating and everything was so seamless! The house is beautiful with gorgeous views and so close to the Wintergreen ski mountain! It was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to come back!

Great Place!

This is a great house for a large group. We had +20 and plenty of room for all to gather and separate as desired. The bunk room was great for the kids to pile in and we had to monitor the adults to keep them off the arcade machine :). Pool table area was a hit and we almost stole the lounge chairs in the 4 place 'coffee' area they were so comfortable. We will be back!

Incredible Property!

The house is incredible! The owners have done a great job in the decor, really has an upscale, modern meets rustic feel. There was plenty of space, both inside the house and for parking. The lower-level bunk room was perfect for entertaining the kids. Nathan was also very helpful in answering our questions prior to arrival. We will certainly return!

Christmas Weekend

Wonderful stay for our Christmas trip! Great location & easy communication with the host. The space was just what we needed for adults and children. The only downside was that several of our guests experienced allergies on the 1st floor to where some slept on the couch on the 2nd floor the rest of the stay. Unsure if the air filters have been changed or if it needs some vacuuming. Couple of the beds on the first floor are also tilted. Nonetheless, we still had a great time!

This property has it all!

17 family members stayed for a long holiday weekend and this house was absolutely perfect! The open floor plan on the main floor offered something for everyone! The kitchen is spacious, has every amenity imaginable including two refrigerators. We used the two sided fireplace which kept us toasty and added to the ambiance. The guys loved having the pool table, and the comfy chairs by the window became the perfect spot to sip some wine and watch the snow fall. We loved the rustic mountain vibe throughout the house! The kids had their own space on the first floor and really enjoyed the arcade. In addition to skiing every day, they were able to enjoy sledding down the hill behind the house in the mornings and late afternoons! The house is conveniently located just minutes from the slopes and it is easy to drop off/ pick up to avoid parking challenges at the slopes! Fortunately there is plenty of parking available at the house. We had 5 vehicles! All in all, it was a great weekend! My only suggestion is to bring your own lighter and starter log if you plan to use the fireplace. Fortunately one of our late arrivals was able to take care of this for us!

The Perfect Setting For Our Special Event

Six months ago me and my friend group of 25 plus years decided to throw a reunion. After an arduous online search we finally found the perfect spot to house 25 to 30 rowdy middle age art friends for food, fellowship and karaoke. Every single person that walked through the door was amazed at how absolutely stunning the property was. It was probably the first event I have ever thrown (and I have thrown a lot of events over the years) where I didn't get even one complaint. The property was clean, spacious and well maintained. Every need was provided for and I couldn't imagine a better spot to have this event. It really did bring this reunion to a whole new level. - Nick Katsouros
