Just a chip shot away from East Beach and all the amenities of the preferred east end of the island, this home shows virtually new condition throughout. Signature character grade, solid white oak flooring, extensive use of shiplap, truly custom cabinetry all combine to represent superb styling and attention to detail. The chef will enjoy the top line appliances and the roomy kitchen workspace whether entertaining for a dozen or simply preparing an intimate dinner for two. Four large and very private bedroom suites (two with additional built in bunks) means plenty of space for the entire family. The double, full width front porches set this home off immediately as a special retreat. Not just a weekend get-away, this home has loads of extra storage space for all your beach needs. Close enough to hear the East Beach surf, yet securely settle back so you rest easy in inclement weather. A 6 person golf cart, 5 bikes and Full membership to BHI Club AND Shoals Club (guest pays daily fees) is available with this rental.

Winter on BHI

Wonderful stay at Writer's Way. Despite the cold winter weather, the house was fantastic for a long weekend. Everything was clean and comfortable and the included golf cart was a nice added benefit.We would definitely stay at this home again!

Great Vacation And great house

Great house, great location, comfortable furniture and beds. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If there was one note to future guests, it might be too confirm how many beach chairs are available as there were only four beach chairs while we were there which was not enough for our group. Not a big deal as many of us were fishing, but if we were there in the summer and wanting to relax on the beach, we would’ve had to figure something out. Overall, wonderful spot and excellent stay and would absolutely stay at this place again!

We always love BHI

The house is very cute and super convenient to East Beach! We had a few issues with the hot water heater, but communicated these problems with the owner and he sent a plumber out immediately, which we appreciated. The hot water heater is 47 gallons....so if you plan to bring a large group to stay at the home, be aware. Having just one cart worked out better than we thought because the house is so close to East Beach, and there are lots of bikes in the garage! The house is very cute and has great porches to enjoy!

Wonderful house in BHI

We had never stayed in this area of East Beach and loved every minute! The little community where the house is located was so great! Close to the beach, close to Shoals Club and Middle Island. The house is beautiful! Beds were comfortable! Kitchen was very well stocked. Decor is beautiful! Great upstairs porch! It had all the amenities we needed and more. One of the nicest homes we have stayed in at BHI and we have been coming for 30 years! Golf cart was very fast! Bikes were in very good condition! Lots of toys and chairs etc for the beach. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Rich for a great experience!

Overall, this is a gorgeous home in an excellent location with plenty of space, however it has a bit more wear than we expected based on the property description and price point. We experienced some cleanliness issues upon our arrival, but Rich was quick to respond offering to have housekeeping return.

Wonderful home and Responsive owner!

We have rented in BHI for many consecutive years, and this was definitely one of our favorite homes so far. There is plenty of beautiful space to spread out and get comfortable in this home. Bedrooms are large and beds are great. Bathrooms are well designed and spacious. The home is bright and beautifully decorated, and the location cannot be beat! Rich was very responsive and reliable, and we would definitely rent this home again!

Great house and location

Our family of had a great week at BHI. The house was perfectly situated for our many trips to the Shoals Club. We had plenty of room to cook and relax in the evening. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we were able to stream Wimbledon as we ate our breakfast! We took full advantage of the island biking, swimming, sun bathing, golfing, and playing croquet. Perfect week!

Great Location and lovely home

Our family spent a week at BHI. The location of the house is absolutley perfect. Rich was very responsive and helpful. Our vacation was fantastic in large part due to the house being so comfortable and inviting. We will be back!

Great house

Great house, great location. Our family of 4 stayed here with some friends and their 3 young kids (9 total) and it was perfect. Very clean house with all of the amenities. The kitchen is really well stocked, which was perfect for us as we cooked all meals in. Rich, the owner, was incredibly responsive and patient with our somewhat frequent asks. We are already plotting our next visit back in the Fall, hopefully when it’s not 38 degrees and windy! Despite the weather, we had a really great time. BHI never fails us!

Extended family stay

Ten family members stayed for our parents 50th wedding anniversary for the week. Great house, wonderful location. Host had excellent communication. Would definitely rent again. Bald Head is just fantastic!!

Favorite spot on Bald Head

Comfortable, relaxed stay in superb BHI location

We just loved this house with its simple but upscale beach decor and had a hard time leaving. Have always wondered how this Southern Living-inspired community would “feel,” and the answer is fantastic! Less than a five-minute walk to East Beach’s beautiful sunrises and reflective beach walks. Super-comfy beds and sofas. Easy-to-cook-in kitchen. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home on quiet street in ideal location on East Beach!

We have been coming to the island and renting for 10 years and this home was at the top. The home itself is lovely, bright, white and beautifully decorated, yet still completely livable and comfortable for our family of 6! The home was immaculately clean and has all the amenities and utensils, including extra touches like yummy smelling candles plus all the things the kids wanted and beach amenities, bikes and boogie boards and beach chairs and skin boards and surf boards and pumps for the bike tires. It is perfectly and centrally located to shoals club and all the East Beach accesses and the Turtle Conservancy, but on a quiet little street that provides you some privacy from the busier stretches in Cape Fear. Rich was a breeze to work with and super communicative and responsive. We can’t wait to return!
