à propos de cet hébergement
Log Cabin Retreat, Beautiful Views, trail @ house
Close your eyes and imagine going back in time up a gravel road to a true log cabin with wide wood planked floors. Now open them and see all of that with todays amenities. Its easy for you to rest at ease by yourself or with family and friends. Mountain views await you on the large deck and around the grilling station and fire pit. Enjoy the simple charm of our rustic, cozy retreat in the heart of nature! This is a special place in the mountains!
Take a nap in our double swing, relax in the Canadian Cedar hot tub or pull out some board games.... whatever you do enjoy the âBear Necessitiesâ of life.
- Benton MacKaye Trail (trail from the house to get you to it) - Cherry Log -Walk on trail from home 0.06miles to the Benton MacKaye. Take a small loop back to the house that is 0.82miles perfect for kids or keep going down the Benton MacKaye. Its your adventure.

OUTDOOR LIVING: Covered front porch with large double swing and Amish rocking chairs next to a log chess table, Conversational Seating, Fire pit with aderondack chairs and grilling area with granite prep table. Lower Deck has the Canadian Cedar Hot tub for two amongst the mountain laurel.
INDOOR LIVING: 1 Smart Roku TV in living room, Dining table (sits up to 4), wood burning fireplace, Upstairs Loft with 2 twin beds, Queen bed in Master Bedroom
KITCHEN: Fully equipped w/ stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, cooking basics, Keurig, knife set, small Crock-Pot, dishware & flatware, wine glasses and wine opener (no dishwasher)
GENERAL: Washer & dryer, laundry detergent, towels/linens, free WiFi, hair dryer, Minisplit heating & air conditioning, ceiling fans

STAIRS: 3 Stairs to get on the front porch. Stairs going down to lower deck and laundry. Tight stairs going up to loft area.
PETS: Pet friendly with fee (paid pre-trip, dogs only, max 2 allowed) $50 pet fee and all dogs must be house trained and over 18 months old. You must agree to keep your dogs off the furniture, keep them crated when left alone, and to pick up after them in the yard.
SMOKING: No smoking/vaping/e-cigarettes/open flames.
TRASH: There is a box with a trashcan in the font by the road. Make sure to leave trash in box to prevent Bears from coming up for the trash. Housekeeping will take away at checkout. If staying for an extended stay or have a lot of trash we ask that guest take it to Gilmer Landfill Scale House (Ellijay) or Waste Management (Blue Ridge). Less than $1 a bag to drop off.
MOTORCYCLES: Not recommended due to gravel road.
ROADS: We drive a front wheel drive minivan and rear wheel drive SUV. Home is 0.3 miles up a typical mountain curvy gravel road. If you are not use to mountain roads they are narrow and can be a little intimidating at first but are part of the adventure of getting to a cabin in the woods. Gravel road can get challenging with a lot of rain or snow if not use to them. They really do change depending on the weather. We do not recommend a low riding car. If you are not use to mountain roads, we would recommend a large SUV or 4-wheel drive.
Easy contact-less check-in.
Home is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in Cherry Log Community. It is between Blue Ridge (5.9mi) and Ellijay (12mi).
Road leading up to home is paved until the last 0.3 miles which is all gravel. Please follow directions we sent and not GPS.
Home is located in Cherry Log Mountain community. There are trails throughout the community that can be accessed by walking down the roads. There is an abundance of wild life so keep a look out for Deer, Turkeys or Bear. There are 2 lakes towards the back. We would recommend downloading the Far Out App and get the Benton MacKaye trail off of it for hiking trails throughout the community. The Benton MacKaye trail can be accessed by walking down the hill from our cabin we have stairs leading down to it (once at the road look for the metal ramp and follow the trail with white diamonds) or you can walk down the gravel road 0.3 miles to the creek and jump on the trail. I can send you a map as well. The Benton MacKaye is over 300 miles long!
In addition to the trails in Cherry Log we are 7 miles from downtown Blue Ridge where you will find lots of antique shops and restaurants. Hike the famous Appalachian Trail, visit Fall Branch Falls, or spend the day on the waters of Lake Blue Ridge. There is also the Expedition Bigfoot, Sasquatch Museum right down the road.
The small town of Ellijay is about 13 miles South where you will find more antiques shops and restaurant. It is also known for its mountain bike trails.
The roads in the community are mountain roads. If you are not use to them the first time might be a little intimidating but then they become part of the adventure.
Kitchen is stocked and ready for vacation cooking. We work hard to have everything you need to cook comfortably while on vacation.
If reservation is canceled during refundable period, a 4% credit card processing fee will be charged.
If bringing pets $50 Pet fee required. Limit 2 pets per stay. Pets are not allowed on furniture. Notify us prior to check-in.

Qui vous reçoit ?
Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Ashly Whitaker
My husband and I have 3 kids. We love to travel to Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Bear Necessities is the perfect location as it puts us in-between both of these towns. We are always exploring new trails and waterfalls in the area. The trails are amazing and our kids love "going on an adventure." When its a weekend without the kids we love hunting for treasure in the antique stores and visiting the wineries. Bear Necessities is a blend of our style as we love mixing old with new. I hope you like it as much as we do!
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
As soon as we walked into Bear Necessities I knew it was for us. Its a cabin that will take you away from all the hustle of everyday life. We have 3 small children (8,5,3) that are growing way to fast. The cabin allows us to all be close together and just enjoy the moments.
