NEW Entire Cabin, 🏔 & 🌊 Views + Hot Tub Downtown
Mountain meets city! Enjoy sweeping mountain & glacial lake views just steps to downtown in this 3 BR/1BA. Perched on a corner lot overlooking RMNP, renters can easily access Estes Park, walk 10 min to charming small town Grand Lake, take in the sweeping views where mountains meet water at Rainbow Bridge, or stay in and star gaze from the hot tub. This is the idyllic cabin retreat you're looking for, accessible summer or winter!
Great location, beautiful view, and hot tub was a definite plus! We had everything we needed, check in and check out instructions were clear and easy. The only complaint was a strong foul odor coming from the sink/dishwasher area. Likely was a dead mouse in that vicinity or had been one. Once windows were opened it minimized but was still noticeable.
Thanks for staying, Shawna. We didn’t receive any communication about an odor during your stay, otherwise we would have had our cleaning team taken care of it immediately. Without notice, our first opportunity to learn of this was in your review. We encourage guests to reach out while on property so we can ensure everything meets expectations.
Excellent time at the cabin. It’s very comfortable and the property is located in a place where you are not going to be disappointed by the views. The host is excellent and made everything very simple and easy to follow.
We had a wonderful stay here! Cabin was cozy and easily slept 7 people. Enjoyed being in walking distance to the town of grand lake and across the street from mountain market! It was also an easy drive to Grand lake and Granby Lake, which we thoroughly enjoyed. House was well stocked and perfect for our family weekend!
Perfect cabin for our family of 5. Great location! Easy to walk to downtown and to Grand Lake itself. We also had a perfect view of the Fourth of July fireworks from the balcony and upstairs windows. The owner was easy to get in touch with and checked in on us regularly. We would definitely stay again!
Wonderful cabin in prime location walkable through downtown grand lake and easy drives to many activities nearby. Would’ve preferred check in info a day earlier, but otherwise communication with Jason was quick and easy. Thanks for helping make this trip so special!
Had a great stay in Grand Lake! Location of this property is amazing you can walk downtown or to the lake in minutes. Market across the street in case you need anything for making meals. The deck was lovely to spend evenings on and the rest of the house was as advertised. Highly recommend we had a great stay.
Drove in from the East Coast to visit family living in grand Lake. The cabin was perfect… Everything we needed, so we were able to focus on spending time together. The location was great, close to the lakes for fishing, 30 minutes from hot Sulphur Springs, and almost right on top of Rocky Mountain national Park. We will definitely try to stay there again on our next visit!
The house was in a great location, walking distance from a grocery store. The heating was great in the house. One thing to note if visiting during the winter is you most probably will require 4x4 or awd to gain access to the snow covered driveway due to a steep incline. Hot tub was clean and an awesome way to warm up.
Unfortunately, we did not have a positive experience during this stay. I will note I have stayed in hundreds of rentals over the years and am very quick to provide a positive review and this is my first negative. We traveled up with our Family of 4 (2 and 4 year old kids). To be fair, the place was in a great location and had fantastic rustic charm - would have been a different situation likely on a "boys" weekend without small children. Our experience:
We arrived and the place was dark, dingy and it was obvious the cleaning company did not do a thorough job - crumbs on the floor, couches and leading up the entire stairs. We immediately felt unsettled by this alone. As we toured the home - we noticed stains on the window coverings, unfinished floors, broken tile in the bathroom and what appeared to be lead paint still on the window coverings. Unfortunately, the quick upgrades and nicer furniture was an obvious mask for the major renovations this place truly needs. This place was NOT little kid friendly. Beware of the pictures that paint a nice image of this cabin. This place is old (again possibly a positive for the right situation).
Following our unsettling tour of the home, we attempted to put our children into a bath - the hot water never worked. This was our last straw and we left the cabin never to return for the weekend.
Long story short, the owners would not refund our stay in full. I was happy to pay any cleaning fees for our 45 minute stay, which I thought was fair but they thought otherwise. It was an unfortunate experience - but you do live and learn. I took a chance on this property being only 1 review on VRBO and it being one of the last properties available. We did get to see a Bear hanging out in the backyard while we were there - one positive for our short time at the cabin.
Hi Justin,
We are a bit disappointed in both our experience with you as well as your review of our home. We have had over 25 stays at the cabin since beginning to rent in October and none of the noted above criticisms were ever provided nor hindered our renters' ability to stay at our home. In fact, you'll see we have 18 positive reviews with 4.89 stars on our primary hosting site through VRBO's competitor (AirBnB).
With regards to your stay, you booked our home stating you'd only have 1 guest when in fact you brought your entire family, including your dog when we very clearly state in our posting that we have a NO PETS policy. You proceeded to use our home & it's amenities then decided to leave the house in disarray after concluding you had a disdain for its aesthetics. Without giving us a chance to remedy any of your concerns, you vacated the property leaving dirty diapers & garbage in the house, dirty dishes in the sink & Band-Aids in the bathtub, all clear violations of our house rules and in all honestly, a bit appalling.
We do take feedback seriously though so upon your announcement of departure, we immediately had our emergency contact team visit the house to review the feedback you provided. They confirmed the hot water was indeed working and cleaned up the mess you & your family left. The renters following your reservation also had no issues with the water nor any of your aforementioned concerns. Not only have we had multiple families with little kids stay at our home without mentioning any of these complaints, we also regularly stay at our home and have a little one of our own who is able to crawl all over the house without any issues or concerns.
I'm sorry your Grand Lake trip wasn't what you envisioned. Our intent is for all guests to fall in love with Grand Lake, the wildlife, local hiking, lakes, and our home. We wish you could've given it a longer chance. Given the quality of your stay did not meet your standards, we we're willing to refund you 1/2 of your reservation fees even after you violated multiple house policies & departed without allowing us to try and alleviate your concerns, which we thought was very generous after this unfortunate rental experience.
We wish you the best in your future VRBO stays but regrettably, you & your family are not allowed back.
Regards,
Jason & Monica
We loved this cabin it had something for everyone in Family. An upper deck our girls could read and lay out on/hot tub on cool nights/great tv room for movie night/even a friendly lil bear sighting. Great views!!
This cabin was great for our family of 5 (three older teens). House had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Clearly they’ve been updating the interior, so it was clean and modern throughout. Good amenities and good communication from the owner. He was super nice, checking on our travel progress throughout the day. I wish we’d planned a longer stay. Would love to see it in the summer.
Hi, I'm Jason. My wife, 2 sons and I love to travel and are big fans of unique housing and adventurous places. We also enjoy hosting folks from around the world to stay at our centrally located cabin in the mountains.
Located right off West Portal Road, our cabin is easy to access in the winter or summer months. With over 2,000 sq feet of parking on this corner lot, there is plenty of room for outdoor activities on site. Inside, we've got 2 bedrooms on the main level, one queen bed, one with two twin bunk beds. Upstairs there is a loft with a queen bed. The couch in the living room is full size pull out. The kitchen features all essentials needed for a long trip and there is a washer/dryer onsite in the entry room.
We are just a 10 minute walk to downtown Grand Lake with restaurants, bars, live music, putt putt, go-karts rentals, ATV rentals, and more. Cross the street and head towards Rainbow Bridge at sunset, launch a kayak or SUP board, access hiking trails or boat rentals or snowmobile to the trails right out of the driveway! We have 5+ parking spots available in our driveway so you can bring your whole family to join you in your stay!
