Located on the Muskegon River between Hardy and Croton Dams. 1200 acres of all sports water. Close to trails and National Forest. Outdoor activities include shuffleboard court, basketball, playset, trampoline, and corn hole. 1 bedroom plus a pull down Murphy bed to sleep 4 adults. Plenty of room for kids on air mattresses or in a tent in the backyard. Full kitchen, fridge has an ice maker. Private dock available at extra cost. Just 8 feet off the water. Feels like a houseboat with the amenities of a cute cottage.
Check in was super easy and we had the option of checking in early. The location was beautiful right on the water. We enjoyed sitting by a fire at night and the mornings by the water. Host is close and that was very helpful when we had TV issues.
Came up to relax and fish. Weather didnât always cooperate for the boat, but great fishing at night from the porch. Hosts were responsive to any concerns or needs.
The place was absolutely beautiful and very clean. Spacious and was the perfect fit for us. It was all so inviting. And the viewsâŠjust wonderful sitting out on the patio just a few feet from the water. Very quiet even when the boats went by.
This place is absolutely fabulous!!!! We wanted a little getaway on the water and it was just that. The place was just as they described it and very clean. It is quiet there which was a bonus. We had great communication with the owners they are wonderful. The weather was perfect.....not too hot or cold. We will definitely stay here again.
We had a great 4 days at the home. If you are looking for a waterfront property, you ain't getting any closer then this one. Property was very clean and felt homey. Would visit again! Next time with the boat.
Thanks Rhonda!
Highly recommend! Best out of all places we stayed. Owners were great and great communication. Property well taken care of and stocked well.
So serene sitting outside with my morning coffee watching the boats go by.
Located close to a lot of attractions. Loved going to Croton Dam.
Can't honestly say enough good about this property and owners. We are already talking about another visit.
Our Family and friends loved this location and house. It was just enough room for the eight of us. We did have to bring two air mattresses that fit in the living and dining areas.
We visited for a Tubing Trip near Croton Dam which is only a few miles away.
We enjoyed the outdoor patio the most. The view was beautiful and had plenty of room for all of us to enjoy.
We will definitely be booking again.
Beautiful.
Only problem kitchen sink not clean and bathroom by kitchen tub not clean. Otherwise beautiful just beautiful. Would definately stay again and maybe for longer.
The pictures looked just like the actual place. It was very cute and homey. Grocery store right near by was nice! I didnât really realize how close you were to other people tho. We were there on a holiday weekend so lots of people on both sides and we had some kids who would run right by on the porch while we were sitting there and once while I was changing. I didnât except that so I had the blinds open haha I pictured it a little more like having that area to ourselves. I was sad I didnât bring a fishing pole cuz I saw some nice fish right there! The views were amazing. Would love to come back when the leaves change. We also went tubing at Wisners which was beautiful and peaceful.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Communication with Rhonda was simple and easy from booking and all throughout our stay. The property was clean and had all the amenities we needed. There were several welcoming touches from the yummy jams and they had the Murphy bed all ready for our daughter to sleep in (which she absolutely loved!). It has just enough room for a couple or small family to spread out and relax and an up close water view from every window! You can't stay any closer to the water than this, and we enjoyed the setting immensely. It was so quiet during our stay, that I was content to just stay at the home, but when we would venture out for food, we found the local restaurants and shops had lots of yummy options. There is so much more I could say, but it was just perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. Rick and Rhonda make communication a breeze and were very enjoyable hosts! We appreciated the boat ride, the play area for kids, the dock with easy water access, and all the little extras that made the week stand out. We definitely hope to be back one day!
Overall a great stay! Unfortunately, I had to clean the inside of the fridge before I could use it. The shelves looked like they hadn't been wiped down in a while and there were dead bugs in it.
The location on the river is amazing. Even better than we expected. Pricing is on point. We found it very relaxing in the mornings to sit out front and have a coffee. In the afternoons it was fun to swim and watch the boats go by. We did some fishing and caught some bluegill and perch. The host were very friendly and had great communication. I would give the hosts & rental 10 stars if I could but it only allows me to give 5!
When we came everything was clean and ready. It was very quiet. The kids enjoyed swimming in the river and kayaking as well. The house had plenty of space. We look forward to visiting again.
My family loved everything about our stay and wouldn't change a thing. The cottage is clean, well stocked, beautiful, and cozy. The patio on the water is amazing. We loved sitting on the patio watching the eagles, loons, and other wildlife. Everyone is friendly and the hosts are amazing. My son did a lot of fishing and we also went swimming. I definitely look forward to returning in the future. 10/10
Love it here, been coming here two/three times a year for the past three years when visiting my father. Owner Rhonda and her husband are great. Perfect place for summer fun or fall colors.
We came to the area to view the fall foliage. The property has an exceptional view of the river and hillside on the opposite side. It couldnât have been any closer to the river. The property is a bit dated, but was great for what we needed.
We came to Michigan from Texas for three weeks, looking for cool weather in August. The cottage was supplied with the necessities. We enjoyed reading or having a glass of wine on the patio while watching the river. It was peaceful on weekdays as we watched the loons, eagles and herons. We also enjoyed watching the boaters, kayakers, and jet skiers on the weekends. The hosts could not have been nicer. They were close if you needed something, but not intrusive. While the cabin itself is all on one level, with both a tub and a step in shower, getting down to the cabin from the driveway is probably not for those with mobility issues. If you are staying a while, grocery stores, restaurants and shopping can be found less than 30 minutes from the cabin. There is one cafe almost right around the corner that serves a good breakfast. There is a little playground and shuffleboard court located next door but it sits back so that you donât see it from the house. You can both swim and fish from the area around the house. While not fancy, it is nicely cared for and can be a fun, comfortable place to hang your hats for a few days.
