Passez une semaine nichĂ©e au bord de la belle Mattaponi. Utilisez les kayaks ou les clubs de golf ou faire une sieste sur le porche grillagĂ© fait d'arbres. Les ventilateurs de plafond devraient vous garder au frais ou aller Ă  l'intĂ©rieur de la climatisation et traĂźner dans le salon en bas avec les panneaux de bois de cerisier et la nouvelle mosaĂŻque de galets de vinyle. Aussi, vous trouverez un grand Ă©cran TV par satellite, et des tonnes de jeux. La cuisine rĂ©cemment rĂ©novĂ©e est prĂȘte Ă  partir. Apportez simplement de la nourriture. Toutes les 3 chambres ont la tĂ©lĂ©vision par satellite. Des savons, des draps, des serviettes, des condiments et du cafĂ© sont fournis. La chambre Ă  l'Ă©tage a son propre salon et salle de poudre rubis. Il y a 2 tables de pique-nique. Un sur le porche grillagĂ© et un dans le jardin Emerald Moss. La plupart des animaux sont les bienvenus.

Great Time

My buddies and I had at great experience- definitely a river paradise. House was unique and perfect for our group. Canoe and kayaks were a blast. We definitely want to come back!

Private property with rustic and charming home on the river, highly recommend!

We LOVED OUR TIME HERE! WE CAN'T WAIT TO COME STAY AGAIN! The home has everything for an entertaining stay. All kinds of accessories for river play and use provided. The home itself is well stocked, clean and also filled with lots of natural charm and accents to compliment the properties location. We really enjoyed the property inside and out. We found the host to be very pleasant and easy to communicate with for checking in/out, property is as described in listing. I Highly recommend this property and host.

Family wedding at a close venue

Very rustic and beautiful outside. We only slept there since we had a big wedding for our grandson nearby. The location to venue was deciding factor.

A lovely sojourn by the river

We stayed at Larkin's river retreat for a week and had a wonderful time swimming in the river, watching birds and lizards and dragonflies, reading, resting, and painting on the wonderful porch, and cooking together in the well-appointed kitchen. Our dogs loved the porch, and the house was lovely and cool for them during the hottest days. Larkin is a warm, generous host, and the location is close to many interesting hikes and historical places of interest. We were comfortable and felt at home and would happily stay again.

This is the best kept secret near Richmond, VA

This is a unique place! Right on the river and so homey and cozy and interesting! I feel in love with it the minute I walked in. My son and his new wife were getting married nearby. We stayed here and had room for other friends and family. We had a great time! There are so many cool things in the house that make it feel like a cozy home rather than a rental. Great value! Fun! And the owner is very nice and easy to work with!

Charming House

Property is as pictured, very secluded. Kitchen is well stocked and lots of little extra toiletries. Air conditioning and ceiling fans kept us cool even in the high 90s heat. Owner was immediately responsive to texts. It’s a neat old house but the light switches were a challenge to figure out. Our TMobile cell reception was very weak and intermittent but never stayed off for too long, but we meant to get away, right? We were disappointed by the road noise that carried to the screen porch-I should have noticed that on Google maps. Really disappointed to find a mouse had made a home in the BBQ grill. No steaks on the grill for us. Overall a good experience.

The indoor space is quirky but cute. For a rental, it seemed to have too much "stuff," and it felt cluttered. For example, both sofas and the beds were completely covered with many, many pillows. The place does not have central A/C, it has individual units for each room, and they were off when we arrived, so the place was roasting hot and took quite a while to cool down. Even once the A/C cooled off the place, it always felt rather humid and sticky. The porch seating areas were fairly comfortable, but the other outdoor seating areas were rather disappointing. They were very grown over and unuseable really, including the dock. The place has potential, but needs some decluttering and TLC. unuseable.seatingseathe

Stay

Fleas fleas fleas! When we first got there Thursday evening we pretty much fished most of the evening. Friday morning breakfast out and fishing that evening a thunderstorms came in and we had to stay inside that's when we started getting bit. We let the host know she said they probably came from the yard that her and her dog stayed there the night before we got there that’s possible but highly doubt it considering the severity of them in the living room. My dog (9 lbs.) just went to the vet prior to our trip for a check up and had no fleas and never has. The only response I got from her was thanks for letting me know my dog is highly allergic. I work for a pest control company they don’t get that bad overnight. There was no remorse! The photos make it seem like there is 3 fishing spots not and one of the canoes you couldnt use and the dock was a little sketchy at times due to the tide. The house it a cluttered and the septic system had issues. I planned the vacation to spend time with my family and all it really did was create more work with taking care of the fleas when I returned home. I would think with her being a pet owner she would of been more concerned and at least offered some type of refund for the aggravation! I know the place is booked hopefully she let the next visitors know. I wish I could upload pics.

Rustic cabin with very limited WiFi and tv. For us, that is a plus. We unplug and enjoy the beautiful views and time with family. The beds are comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Larkin is a great host.

This property is perfect for a couple who would like to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is secluded without being far from main roads. It is whimsical and charming in a unique way. I lovely stay amid nature!

Hidden oasis

First let me be clear. Larkin is an angel. Second the pictures just don’t do this place justice. Talk about amazing. Super spacious super private super euphoric. If you’re into nature this better be on your list. We didn’t need a single thing. Unfortunately we didn’t utilize the property because we were there for a weekend but I promise you this we will be back to enjoy the property. Larkin from the entire group we thank you for allowing us to use your place I only hope we make it back soon.

What a Great Weekend!

I'll be honest, we always pick a place that our dogs will love and this fit the bill perfectly. The house is well kept and full of charm. The yard is lovely with the plants and flowers blooming and the dock on the river was the highlight of every morning. The dogs are exhausted and we are relaxed. Thank you sharing your space!
