Welcome to Glass Valley, a brand new (June 2021) home designed and built to maximize the magnificent view of the valley below and the mountains beyond. Most people who visit Pagosa Springs want to spend their time outside which you can do here, even when you get home. The partially covered 40-foot-long deck upstairs and 17 foot covered deck downstairs face west so you get to enjoy breakfast or your morning coffee al fresco and when you get home you can enjoy the magnificent sunsets.
Glass Valley is located three miles from Hwy 160 and restaurants, grocery stores, Pagosa Brewing Company and Higher Grounds Coffee Shop. Another couple of mile drive will get you to downtown Pagosa Springs, the hot springs and more restaurants and shops. Wolf Creek Ski Area is about 20 miles from the house.
Inside you’ll be treated to more of the beautiful view surrounded by soaring ceilings, modern farmhouse décor and furnishings specifically selected to make vacationers feel comfortable and at home. The living room, dining room and kitchen share an open space with over eighteen feet of glass so you can enjoy nature even indoors. In addition, there’s a powder room off of the living area. There is a portable AC unit in the living area for the occasional warm day. Every bedroom but one has a terrific view. There are new memory foam mattresses and stylish furnishings in all three of the main bedrooms. The primary bedroom is upstairs where you can step out onto the deck after a great night’s sleep in your king size bed. A gorgeous walk-in shower highlights the bathroom that also has a double vanity. The two main bedrooms downstairs are a guest bedroom with a queen bed and a larger bedroom with a queen bed and a beanbag chair (that has a full mattress inside). These two bedrooms open to a game room which leads to the downstairs deck. The fourth bedroom doubles as a rec room/large TV room with a wet-bar, comfy sectional and a set of twin bunkbeds. An additional full inflatable mattress is available if needed. There are two full bathrooms downstairs, one with separate tub and toilet areas so lots of people can get ready in a hurry.
You’ll have full access to the garage which has plenty of room for two good size vehicles and a mud area with ski and snowboard racks as well. There’s also enough space in the driveway to park a couple more cars. Note there’s no parking on the street (snowplows may need access).
In case you really want to watch the big game or a movie the house has two 70” TVs (living room and rec room) and two 55” TVs (primary bedroom and game room) all hooked up to Dish Network with lots of sports and premium channels. We also have Wifi throughout the house that has been reliable but is not the fastest - so gaming, on-demand and streaming won’t be on your to do list here.
Pagosa Springs is an amazing gem of a place close to skiing/snowboarding, hiking, lakes, rivers and of course the famous springs themselves. Wolf Creek Ski Area is known for having the most average snowfall per year in all of Colorado (430 inches per year average!). Most years Wolf Creek is in operation from sometime in October to late March. Pagosa Springs has a small town feel to it but still has a large number of excellent restaurants, some excellent breweries and many of the amenities one expects in a much larger town. The springs, with 24 pools of varying sizes and temperatures (84-114 degrees), is open year-round and a great place to relax in between days on the slopes. The hiking in the Weminuche and South San Juan Designated Wilderness Areas is truly amazing and during the winter there are a number of groomed trails in the Pagosa Springs area for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There’s kayaking, tubing, rafting and oh yes – the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad shouldn’t be missed.
Chains or four wheel drive recommended in the winter - there's a little bit of a slope to the driveway. Our crew does snow removal after a significant snowfall but it may take up to 24 hours for them to get out there. With two wheel drive you may struggle to get out until the snow gets cleared.
