We had birthdays for two people in our friend group and this place was truly so fit for the celebration! The space is well decorated, well cleaned, and well lit. We had a lot of fun touring the space and jumping between rooms and floors. The walk to rainbow beach was easy to follow. Host is very clear and consistent with communication. Theyâre very sincere in their efforts to improve the place and make sure thereâs no misunderstandings. Truly, thank you so much for your space. Weâd love to come back. :))
The host was very kind and welcoming! I had no issues with my stay. The parking for visitors is the only con but overall it was worked out with street parking. I would definitely book again and have already gave referrals! Great place for intimate gatherings!
Great place to stay! Close to the city! Loved cooking in the kitchen and jamming out to music. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Our group would love staying again
Very accommodating, with our Large Family, we all relocated to another state.we haven't celebrated Christmas at home in years, andYour home allowed us the opportunity...Thank you kindly,Jessica
We didnât stay we got to the location and it was in a horrible area of Chicago everything boarded up and abandoned gang graffiti everywhere house is across from low income projects. The walk to the train stop is noted as one of the most dangerous in Chicago. The house is run down needing lots of repairs. What little furniture there was is chairs that donât match and are dirty. The beds are worn out and not remotely comfortable. The master bed was like sitting on plastic. The outdoor sitting areas are very small. No hot tub as advertised. Master bathroom is not inside the room. This was nothing like it is advertised we left and had to rent a new place to stay. The owner of the property called me a liar, said I was racist and refused to work with me at all. Still charged cleaning fee when there less than an hour. Whatever you do donât be fooled by this horrible location and home owner.
The house is well equipped, conveniently located. Our group was comfortable staying in the house and it accommodated a large gathering of 50 or so easily. Parking for the group was challenging but our guests
figured it out. Kitchen had what we needed and the Methodist Church nearby wa very grateful for our excess catered food. one of our fellows, a piano tuner, even gave the piano a thumbs up for being in tune.
Our stay in the Lake House was an amazing experience! My family and I loved the place! We found the house in great condition: clean, welcoming and ready to stay in!
Jessica was also an excellent and kind host! She was very flexible with our needs, and very accessible to communicate with. Every time I had a question she would reply within seconds!
Truly the Lake House made my family and I feel like at home. Next visit to Chicago, we for sure know where weâll be staying at!
Prefect for anak gathering and beautifully decorated
The home is just as described in the photos. There was plenty of seating. The kitchen is nice and spacious. We had a family dinner with about 25 guests and this was perfect. The Chicago natives at the dinner fell in love with this place. The location was great for the beach, Hyde Park and downtown Chicago with minimal traffic. I would definitely recommend this place. I think it would be even better in the spring to enjoy the outdoor spaces.
Upon arrival and entry, I was amazed at how beautiful and gleaming the initial glance was. Itâs even more beautiful upon further inspection. The two terraces off the bedrooms were a welcome addition. The rooftop terrace and large backyard was the deciding factor in rebooking this summer. The owner is very friendly, easy to contact and conduct business with. Iâm very impressed with this gem less than 5 minutes from my home. Thank you Jessica!
House was dirty, VERY WARM, had ants EVERYWHERE in the beds, on both floors, hand railing was barely hanging on, had to set up another air conditioner to try and cool the house down and it never got below 75 until the outside weather was 25 degrees cooler. No couch or tv for the living area just a tow of chairs which was very awkward so it makes it very hard to congregate in the living room. The shower downstairs was cold in less than 5 minutes for each person that tried to shower even though they were more than 8 hours apart and they upstairs shower was so hot it scolded otherws. The ants were so bad we couldn't sleep because allwe could think about was then crawling around on ypu. Neighborhood was sketchy and a mattress was laid up along the gate overnight. Fire extinguishers were not easily accessible both were boxed up still and in the back of cabinets. Sketchy devil head statue in the closet and some kind of weird horse tail whip. The filter on the fridge needed replaced the smoke detector went off from 3am to about 5:30 am for the battery and the owner didn't even have someone come replace. It . We had no ladder to accesss the detector. So unhappy with VRBO as well.. Horrible customer service. Dirty dishes in the utensil drawer. Owner listed property with a fireplace and treadmill both which clearly did not exist. Never found either on the property. Dirtydishesildrawers,
We chose this place to stay off the congested highways & expensive toll roads & it provided easy daily drives to & from McCormick Place for week-long trade show via DuSable Lakeshore Drive. House & parking were as advertised & secure, no issues.
The property was very clean, warm and welcoming. Beds were comfortable, and kitchen well stocked. Property manager was great at checking in, and readily available. The location was close drive to downtown Chicago and soldiers field. This made it easy for us to get to the concert we were seeing at soilders field and exploring downtown. Great location and an awesome space for a group of friends to stay. The rooftop deck and balconies had views of the lake and a nice place to relax after a long day exploring. The art work was amazing . I would rate this ten stars if I could.
We had a family stay with folks from around the US. The home was exactly as listed with details such as towels and toiletries thoughtfully provided. Arrival and departure were smooth and Jessica was super responsive. This will be our home in Chicago whenever it is available! We are thankful to have had a beautiful Christmas!
