Welcome to Somerset and our soulful little home on the Taunton River. This charming Bungalow sits on a quiet dead end street. Three quarters of the house has water views. 2 bedrooms inside the home, a bonus room detached from the house which features another sofa and tv, and two dedicated work areas, family-friendly touches like board games and Montessori-style toys for little ones, our home is perfect for small families or two couples. Somerset's a small town surrounded by big attractions. It's 15 minutes from Providence, 30 minutes from Newport and Cape Cod, and 50 mins from Boston.
The house is bright and airy in a quiet neighborhood. The view is fantastic! Shopping and dining were not far away. The kitchen is well equipped. We had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.
Had a wonderful time. Exactly as described and pictured. My 5 year old loved the Legos and art supplies. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and cozy. We loved watching the boats from the front porch and it was an easy drive to Roger Williams Zoo. The hosts were very welcoming and easily accessible. Thank you for a great weekend!
This is an adorable cottage, close to the water. The host was very kind and helpful. Somehow, when I booked it, I hadn't realized that one of the bedrooms is in a separate one-room building, so keep that in mind. I'd stay here again!
Allison abd Paulâs home is lovely. Every attention to detail, excellent communication and signage in home. Their artsy background shows in the decor, very comfortable! Beautiful views and location !!!! Canât wait to go back
Absolutely adorable1920âs cottage with riverside views! We were 2 couples and we comfortably shared the well-appointed space. Everything made us feel at home! Communication with the owners was exceptional; there was posted information as well as a well-designed house manual. Even chocolate chip cookies for us upon arrival! The only negatives were that it only had one bathroom upstairs and very beautiful but squeaky old wooden floors-no sneaking around here! We would definitely go back!
Two out of state friends came to visit me in MA, and this cottage was a perfect choice for us to enjoy our time together, and is a great location to enjoy the surrounding areas. While in the home, we mainly hung out around the large dining table playing a variety of card/board games, and when we took breaks, the couch was easy for the 3 of us to get very cozy, especially with the plethora of blankets and throw pillows throughout the house. Great bonus was that the Keurig is a newer model with a milk frother. The only thing of note that could be helpful to potential renters that wasn't described on the listing are that the bathroom and all bedrooms are on the 2nd floor, so prepare to get a workout if you maintain good hydration. The backyard area is very cute with a firepit and adirondack chairs, however it was much too hot/humid during the time we stayed in July, so sadly no s'mores for us. Maybe next time! Overall, the home is extremely clean and the decor is like Pinterest came to life! Very cute touches everywhere, rules were very reasonable and plainly listed in the areas they applied. Thank you to these hosts for the lovely stay!
The house looks just like it did in the photos - everything was neat and tidy. We enjoyed all the games and the BIG screen TV, but sitting in the backyard and looking out at the water was great. Used the house as a home base for day trips to Newport and to Plymouth. Grocery and ice cream parlor nearby. Highly recommend!
Perfect for our 3 adults, on a River, great restaurants in area and easy day trips to the cape. House is so cute and has everything youâll need plus more. Local artisan products sampled and available to purchase. Wish weâd have been able to attend the open air market thatâs on Saturdays. Also a local park has free concerts each Wed just a mile from the house, in the Summer. Allison was so sweet and made us feel so welcomed and addressed all our questions. Nice outdoor sitting area with a firepit. Weâd definitely stay again if in the area!! Also, EVERYONE was sooo friendly In every business or just folks we ran into!
I would rate it 6 stars if I could. The property and the location are perfect. We are very familiar with the area but never knew much about Somerset and this gave us a chance to discover more. The whole little town is adorable, people are very kind and sweet. My husband, myself, and our 4 children ranging from 12 to 19 relaxed, enjoyed the water views, and took a few strolls down the peaceful shoreline. Waking up with the soothing sound of the water splashing, the muted quacking of the cute ducks, and the chirping of birds in the morning is truly priceless. Do not miss the Somerset Open Air Market days on Saturdays, or getting a REALLY good ice cream at the Somerset Creamery, the delicious smell of the fresh-made waffle cones is irresistible! Grab breakfast for many places, down County street. such as the Rise Cafe or Lina's Place. On top of that, Allison was an amazing host, made sure we were taken care of and answered any single questions and request!
My family and I stayed at this soulful cottage over the 4th of July weekend. The location was amazing. I loved drinking my morning coffee on the front porch watching the boats go by. The drive into Newport was not bad at all! We loved all the little touches that were added and how kid friendly the home is! Only thing to note for larger groups is that there is one bathroom though it isnât make the home any less enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again!
Welcome to our soulful little home on the Taunton River - weâre so glad landed here.
This just so happens to be one of our favorite places.
While originally from Philly, we now call Somerset HOME because its pulse has stolen our hearts and reminded us of the power of community.
My husband and I founded and operate an Open Air Market in town, full of Farmers, Artisans, Food and Live Music. While we highlighted a few of the marketâs artisans in the homeâs decor, we havenât even scratched the surface of the talent that abounds.
So we want to welcome you to Somerset - a hidden gem in the middle of many popular destination spots.
