The Crown Jewel Lodge is one of our largest most modern with a hit of cottage like aesthetics sitting on 9.8 acres. Sugar River runs across the estate in the back with pathways open for recreational activities, such as fishing, biking, hiking and many other activities. The Lodge is roughly 2,600 SQ FT with 3 floors including the basement 5 bedrooms, 2 on the top level, 1 on the mail level and 2 on the lower level. 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom. Each level has its own bathroom. Three car garage, propane powered kitchen area, bar area, oven, stove, fridge, microwave and outdoor barbecue grill and lamb rotisserie oven along with bonfire pits. Hammock, lawn chairs, benches and more. The main level bathroom has a jet-propelled jacuzzi and the backyard has a jet-propelled hot tub on the wraparound. Entertainment areas on all 3 levels and SONOS surround sound speakers built into the cottage. Karaoke system as well. Air conditioned and ventilation equipped. Secure and designated. Verizon 4GLTE powered Internet Connection with extended WiFi. There is a beautiful designated smoking sun room that overlooks the river. Child's play area level 3, baby crib included along with many children games and entertainment areas. The lower level has a game area equipped with a pool table, dart table, ping pong, beer pong tables, and sitting area lounge included with your reservation. The lower level has its own walkout deck area as well. The maximum capacity sleeps up to 18 adults and children. The estate is pet friendly and is equipped with an electric fence. Our large family were so thankful for the time we got to spend together at this cabin. It was the cleanest we have ever had and had just the right amount of space and activities for everyone. I cannot overstate how amazing this place is!

A great location and nice amenities! THat this location is open to Weddings and Parties was really nice. The pool table and ping pong in the basement were great. The listing of "Arcade" and "Fitness equipment" is a little misleading: there is a single old bicep curl pulley system and a small desktop arcade-like computer. There were a few minor funcionalities which could be improved (stovetop constantly try to auto-spark, some of the furnitue is not supremely solid, stairs to the creek missing some steps) but it was a good location, available, and met our needs. The kitchen was nice and big and we could cook and prepare. The beds and bathrooms were all very clean and well laid-out.9/10!

The host was very prompt in responding.Everything was as expected! Clean hot tub, great grounds.There was a tree down by the river and smashed the fire pit down there. The steps to the river were precarious so we used caution. Not a deep river, more like a creek, we’re not able to fish there, went to Secord Lake instead. I did have some pillow cases that did not smell good, had to wash myself, but that didn’t ruin my experience! The stove top was fickle and would randomly spark the starter while in use. All in all I would highly recommend, we really enjoyed our stay!

Lots of things in the place did not work. No batteries for remotes for gaming console. None of the screen doors work and blinds in master would not go up or down. Walkway to river is very sketchy and would not recommend going all the way down.

This home was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It comfortably fit our entire wedding party and had everything we could have needed. There were plenty of blankets, linens, cooking supplies, and storage space for food. The extra refrigerator was incredibly helpful for a large group.The hot tub was fantastic, and the kids loved spending time in the game area with the pool table and ping pong table. The river setting was gorgeous, peaceful, and relaxing, while still being easy to find and access.Check-in was simple, and the hosts were incredibly accommodating by allowing us a late checkout during our wedding weekend, which made a huge difference. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion.We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

I am not the person to leave a bad review for anyone. However other travelers need to be aware. The pictures for this property are not current. The cabin has mold in it, our entire family of 17 got sick from a three day weekend staying here, specifically in the basement. There was Mold on the grill, broken & missing steps going down to the river, more burnt out light bulbs than lit, in the four seasons room, all the mattresses in the house need replaced, they are awful. Leftover food and ice from previous guests in the freezer, leftover opened cigar packages left from previous guests. Missing handle on oven door, stove igniter misfired, Broken chairs to sit at for the dining room table. Several broken blinds on windows. Oven & refrigerator not cleaned, broken glider on the front porch, Two family members got spider bites in the house on two separate floors at night. Temp regulation awful: Main floor comfortable while upstairs hot, and downstairs cold. The fire pit was flooded and not cleared out. The furniture on the front porch was so dirty you couldn’t sit on it. The cabin overall is in a great location, and could be a really neat place, but it. Needs a lot of TLC and needs to be kept up with.

Such a beautiful house! Our family loves to cook and the kitchen has everything needed to do just that! We enjoyed canoeing and hiking nearby and did some R&R.

Great Family Thanksgiving Stay!

My family and I stayed here for thanksgiving! The house is great and the perfect log cabin! We have 11 people and a couple of dogs and there was room and bedrooms for everyone which worked out perfectly! The property is awesome and will be staying here again soon!

A lovely home with plenty of space and bathrooms for us all. It was in a nice wooded setting. We enjoyed the nature trails and walk down to the river. We wish we had been able to access the river directly behind the house as in the past.

A nice getaway spot for many.

Overall great stay. We only had a little trouble with the hot water but the host was very quick with finding someone to repair it for us. Would go again.

We fell in love & moved to the states 25 years ago. We love enjoying the great outdoors every summer and winter in Northern Michigan. All four seasons with amazing summers? Who doesn’t? We do & love to see others enjoy the same things we treasure. Time. Time is the most if not most valuable asset that depreciates every day we like it or not. Sadly, one significant fact is that we’re so occupied with work or life that the thing we call time goes by before our eyes! The next valuable thing next to time are the great moments and memories we make over our lifetimes. It’s that was is most important. Family & the Freinds getting together for any reason is something less common nowadays more so than we realize. Family and friends gatherings rather it’s for a weeding, reunion or just because. We accommodate the space and opportunity to create those memories & moments that will last a lifetime. The sounds of water flowing down a backyard river is irresistible. The most amazing scenery and beautiful nature, zero noise makes us feel at peace with oneself.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The property was constructed by one of the greatest “log home” cabin builders in the US. The craftsmanship, time and design it must have took to build is mind boggling. Also, to do so on black bear territory definitely makes a statement. Construction photos from 1999 during construction are posted downstairs their floor of the property. Check them out!
