Location is close to the Village shopping and restaurants. The neighborhood street can get pretty chaotic, though, with different large groups renting the multi-bedroom house next door during our stay.
Cleanliness was generally good. Our only complaints were the floor looked clean but was very dirty underfoot, black mold in the bathroom around the tubâs splash guard and the ceiling fan, and the fins in the washing machine needed a good cleaning.
There were a few DIY oddities and maintenance issues. Most importantly, none of the window locks worked, so the house couldnât be secured beyond locking the doors. We didnât make the manager aware of this and other issues until after we left, as we didnât want maintenance workers interrupting our stay.
There were three adults bikes, but only one was usable. One had no chain and another had a loose seat post that required a tool to raise and tighten, which we couldnât find. The bike locks had no keys, so we couldnât use them. We could have contacted the rental manager, but it was easier to rent better bikes at the Village.
The kitchen was very well equipped, and the owners obviously put thought into little extras. Overall, the rental presents a good package, but we didnât feel it was worth the $400+ nightly rate we paid. Uncurated VRBO-like properties can be hit-and-miss, even from one visit to the next. This one was a solid three stars and shouldnât disappoint, as long as one knows what to expect going in.
