Very clean and cozy. Julia goes above and beyond for her guests. Even fresh baked cookies and a stocked fridge and pantry! We loved visiting the horses and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
This was a great experience!! Julia was wonderful. Watching the horses in the evening was a real treat. Great little restaurant next to us, Windy Corner, wonderful!! Could not have improved anything. Claybank Farm is the best
The place is near the Kentucky Horse Park and Kroger is down the road. We wanted an atmosphere that felt more like home than a hotel. We were able to do things during the day and still come "home" for dinner. This location fit nicely for a weekend getaway. My daughter loved the horses too. Would stay again.
We had a lovely stay on the farm with Julia. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. She even went out of her way to plan some horse-related adventures for us and was very patient with our questions about the world of horse racing and breeding. Bonus was meeting the foals and other horses on the property and seeing the fireflies from the porch in the evening. We could not have asked for a better stay!
This place is heavenly! Absolutely beautiful scenery, gorgeous property and home. The best we have ever stayed at! Location is great, not to far from the city but far enough away from the hussle and bustle. Amazing views all around, no matter which way you look. The host/owner is outstanding! So great from check in to check out! She considers every little detail to make this your home away from home. Just can't say enough! 10 out of 10! Would highly recommend! Thank you again, you and your place made our trip so memorable! Can't wait to come back.
Beautiful, comfortable, well equipped home on o a gorgeous setting. Julia was the perfect host there to answer questions and offer recommendations. The week flew by. We look forward to a return visit. Thanks for everything Julia.
Our family gathered at Colliver House for a weekend At Keeneland. Our plans were rained out but we still had a wonderful time. The house is comfortable with plenty of room for all. The farm is such a beautiful place. We enjoyed visiting the horses. The home is well stocked and the welcoming cookies were an extra special treat. Julia is an excellent host and offered ideas for rainy day excursions. Our whole family rank this as our favorite vacation rental. We all got much needed rest and relaxation. Cannot wait to come back!
My group of six woman stayed at this cute venue. We loved it. Plenty of room for all of us. The property owner was very responsive, informative, friendly and available. We are already talking about booking again for next year. We did need some help with how to regulate the heat and air features. Horses all around us was amazing!! And the restaurant on the corner was yummy. Best hush puppies I've ever had!
Very nice old farm house on a working horse farm. A mare an itâs foal (1 week old) spent most of their day in the field next to the house and loved to visit with us when we went up to the fence. Host was wonderful and the house had all the amenities one would ever need.
Fabulous host, cookies were wonderful, property is charming and clean, restaurant next door is affordable with lots of options on the menu--and good! Highly, highly recommended.
Ky is the halfway meeting point for our family living in Tn and In. We love the Ky countryside and enjoy the surrounding horse country. What better Christmas meeting place for our family than a 200 year old farm house on a working horse ranch. Our host (Julia) was very accommodating and the listing and pictures were very accurate. This property is somewhere between a VRBO and a B&B. The house was stocked well beyond a normal VRBO and Julia met us with a desert, as well as bacon and eggs to use for breakfast. We cooked a big Christmas dinner and had everything we needed. This is an old house so expect an old house. If you expect a modern home with ten foot cathedral ceilings and high end furnishings, this isnât it. Itâs all about the charm. The house is clean, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. We ventured around the stable area and met some of the horses. There is a wonderful small restaurant close by that you can see from the house. The chef is excellent and the food was great. We ate two meals there and the convenience was a bonus. If youâre looking for a vintage farm house experience on a working horse farm with everything you need, then I highly recommend.
Wonderful quaint farmhouse. Comfortable and cozy. Beautiful surroundings in horse country. Well stocked with everything we needed.
Julia was a fabulous host. Attentive and available.
This was charming, very clean, comfortable, beautiful property in the country. Exactly what I was looking for and Julia was so kind and accommodating. She had everything there were needed and more! everything
We were 2 travelers and used 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms.
Location is perfect to visit horse farms, Horse Park, Keeneland and downtown Lexington.
Our host Julia was super. The house is nice and clean and all the amenities were provided as listed plus homemade cookies! We enjoyed the view & feeding carrots to the horses!
A great restaurant next to the farm.
We hope to return again.
Thanks Julia for a wonderful time!
We were delighted upon check in - the home was even better than in the photos and description. The personal communication from the host and them going out of their way to make sure we have everything we need during our stay were just some of the many perks of staying at the Colliver House.
Make sure to say hello and be kind to the very sweet horses surrounding the farm!
We hope to be back next year.
Our family of 4 including 2 older teens plus grandma stayed at Colliver House. This was our home base for the Railbird Music Festival. It worked out perfectly! Julia is a very attentive host. The homemade chocolate chip cookies were devoured immediately and the extras were so appreciated!!! Cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, coffee, soda, bacon and eggs, carrots to feed the horses and much, much more!! This is a very comfortable house. Not new but very clean. It feels like your visiting grandma's house in the country. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone who needs a place near Lexington. Very convenient to the UK campus.
Three girlfriends stayed for 3 nights at Coliver house on Claybank farm. We had an exceptional visit, enjoying the surrounding property, mares and foals. Julia was a very generous and attentive host. We were so fortunate to be able to go with her to visit Spendthrift Farm. Seeing the stallions, trophy room, and spectacular beauty of the grounds was the highlight of our stay. Thank you, Julia and Des for such a memory. And Pepper, you are a dear and a talented tee shirt artist.
The house and farm are beautiful! Everything is neat and clean; and beautifully decorated. Beds are very comfortable. And Julia is the absolute best host! Great communication; Fully stocked refrigerator and pantry, including homemade chocolate chip cookies and so many other âextrasâ!! Even helped arrange a last minute awesome tour at a local stallion farm on Derby weekend. The best VRBO stay ever!
The hostess with the mostess! Julia provided us with a beautiful home surrounded by beautiful horses and pastures. When we arrived she had baked chocolate chip cookies for us and left a refrigerator and pantry with lots of goodies and essentials. She goes above and beyond as an owner of a VRBO house. We have already booked for next year. Can't wait until then. Thank you Julia!!
I am the granddaughter of G.C. and Marie Colliver, this was the residence my grandparents renovated in the early 1970's into their personal home. My grandfather was multi talented, a welder, a builder and a farmer. Passionate of Thoroughbreds he rebuilt the farm in the early 80's for my business. Boarding and raising many very successful Thoroughbreds. Over the years we have had many guest visit the property, the decision was made to share the area and property with others.
Family owned farm just off the beaten path of major interstates and hwys. Mere minutes from Downtown Lexington, Paris, Georgetown and Winchester. Beautiful scenery, nestled among world famous Thoroughbred Breeding Farms.
Relaxing environment, walking on the farm and petting the horses, or enjoying one of the two porches. Views of horses from back porch with beautiful KY sunrises and sunsets.
