Get away from it all

Enjoy end of the dirt road privacy with your stay at this beautiful log home on Mill Creek. Just a few miles from Challis this property is situated perfectly for all your outdoor adventures and makes a perfect touring stop. Located just off the Custer Motorway we are minutes from the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, the Salmon River, multiple high mountain lakes and surrounded by thousands of square miles of public land, so whether you are hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, rafting, riding ATV’s or just seeing the country it can all be done from here. The cabin is 900 ft+ with a huge wrap around porch including a gas grill and furniture for both dining and lounging. Retreat to the fire pit after dinner and enjoy the clear dark sky. The cabin sleeps 5 and is complete with full kitchen and dining, stack washer/ dryer, beautiful bathroom with tile shower, TV/DVD player, assorted family friendly DVDs, a collection of books and board games. We have ample parking for ATVs and trailers. We have corrals for use and horses are welcome, sorry no dogs. So if you want to unplug and trade the sound of traffic for wind through the cottonwoods and the creek tumbling over rocks come stay at Mill Creek Ranch.

outdoor experience

The cabin was very comfortable and well decorated. There were some very nice touches that Jessica included like homemade soap and fresh chicken eggs. I especially liked the view and the gurgling creek that's in the back yard. I was able to meet Jessica the owner and she is great. This is a very safe place, and we will be booking another stay for 2026.

Gorgeous cabin with amazing location

We came into Challis for a weekend wrestling tournament. We didn’t want to leave the cabin it is amazing. So homey and the 360* views take your breath away! We were so sad to have to leave early for an unexpected event back home. We really can’t wait to make plans to come back and stay.

What a spectacular place for us East coasters to stay! Beautiful land, friendly animals, homey cabin and a beautiful view. Next time we are in the area, we will stay there again.!

Cozy Cabin

This is a beautiful property with a nicely decorated, clean and comfortable cabin. The host is very friendly and thoughtful to anticipate everything we might need. Highly recommended for a quiet mountain get-away.

Outstanding!!!!

Property tucked away in its own haven yet just 5-7 miles from town. Perfectly situated amidst a canyon with its very own creekside setting. House was very tastefully decourated with all amenities needed. Host was exceptional! Highly recommend.

Great property and welcoming hosts

The well-appointed cabin was very comfortable and peaceful. Jessie and Cleve did a wonderful job on the restorations and are wonderful hosts. I would definitely recommend the cabin to anyone looking for accommodations in the Challis area. I wish we had planned to stay longer - would love to go back someday.

The cabin was wonderful, cozy, peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything to make a yummy meal. We were so glad we met the host and to hear about the property and their future plans. We would definitely stay there again as opposed to staying in town.

Beautiful property that has hidden gems outside as well as inside. Jessie was very accommodating and the cabin was super clean and very well stocked. We had such a great trip. The kids didn't want to leave!

Beautiful!

Beautiful! It was a relaxing vacation with my family. She left us the sweetest note welcoming us into the home along with lotion & eggs. The home was on their ranch in a quiet area with a creek right outside. We can’t wait to come back next year! They were amazing hosts!

The perfect getaway!!

My boys and a couple friends wanted to do some UTV/ dirt bike riding in the area. This beautiful rustic cabin ended up being the perfect place to stay. It was very clean and spacious and far exceeded our expectations. Jessica was very friendly and made us feel so welcome. We also loved her amazing dogs. They sat by the fire with us every night. I highly recommend this stay. You won’t regret it.

Unique things would include, guard dogs. Rooster alarms. Thick walls to block everything out. Lots of puzzles and games available. Bit of a scenic drive to get anywhere but that’s not a problem. Food in town is fairly available, even on Sunday. Must go see the folks at the teacup cafe!

Fabulous!

This was our best cabin experience ever. We've stayed at a number of cabins over time, and this was our favorite. We loved the remoteness. Very peaceful and quiet. Jessie and Cleve were great hosts. The hospitality doesn't get any better than this. Jessie pays a lot of attention to detail to make her guests feel at home. And the pets and animals were a lot of fun. Should we venture out that way again, we'll want to stay there for sure. Very cozy and relaxing. 5 star!!!

peaceful Idaho getaway to unplug and reconnect with family

This rental greatly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, everything about the space was cozy, welcoming, and exactly what we needed. We will come back to Idaho just to stay and spend more time here. The hosts left us a sweet note and had everything personalized to us. We also had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Jessie when she responded to a message I sent, delivering the most delicious eggs for breakfast from the chickens right outside. Our kids loved all of the friendly pets that lived on the property, and they loved having the space to explore. My husband was actually sad when we had to say goodbye to one of the goats. The night was dark with many stars, and we all had the best sleep we've had in a long time. If you're in this part of Idaho, do good by yourself and make sure to book here!

Hidden Gem

This is an amazing property along Mill Creek, off the beaten path a little bit, but not too far, in a little canyon of its own with wonderful fall foliage, and with a great set up for young kids and families as well as business travelers looking for a special treat. This log cabin is roomy and spacious and extremely up to date on the inside with a luxurious bath, full kitchen, all modern appliances, a huge dining table, BBQ, hammocks, trampoline, etc. and comfortable beds! I felt like I was at a Sun Valley Lodge room only a lot bigger! The hosts live on property and were gracious, friendly and accessible. I will be back for a longer stay!

Hope to Return!

We loved our three nights at the cabin. The quiet, peace and tranquility were just what we wanted. We only grilled and had a simple side dish but the kitchen appears to be equipped to handle most anything. The September evenings were a tad chilly but the pellet stove took care of that. I wish we could have stayed longer, maybe next time. If you do have more than a few days stay it’ll be a good chance to read a book, work on needlepoint/knitting etc or a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle; bring them along! But there are games, puzzles and DVDs provided. There is also a private road to walk.

This property is at the end of the road surrounded by public ground, you'll have beautiful scenery and a break from the sounds of the city. The days are serene and the night sky is amazing. We have all the trimmings for a great experience, including fire pit, a gas grill, large porch, ample parking and horse accommodations, all from a perfect jump off spot to explore the vast BLM, Forrest Service and Wilderness areas of eastern Idaho.
