Outer Banks tradition with unique, comfortable modern touches. Located in the quiet Avalon Beach neighborhood of Kill Devil Hills near Milepost 6 and Avalon Pier on the west side of the bypass, within walking distance to the beach and the sound (wonderful sunsets and public gazebo). Your family will love this vacation home packed with amenities yet centrally located to the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and more!
The kitchen is fully stocked, and all four bedrooms, the living room, and Tikki Bar all have smart TVs with Roku.
The backyard is fully fenced in for your furry family members. It also features an outdoor fish cleaning station and firepit. The carport under the house has a large hot tub, gas grill, outdoor shower, and hooks for hammocks (we provide - you hang at your own risk).
We have beach chairs and a cart for your use.
Please note that this is a vacation rental and not a hotel. You will need to roll trash carts out for trash pickup, do dishes, etc., and leave the house reasonably as you found it.
If you use the grill, please clean it before departure for the next guests. Our cleaners do not clean grills.
We provide one set of bath towels per expected guest. We do not provide beach towels.
We provide at least the first roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one roll of paper towels. Additional needs are the guests' responsibility.
If you are bringing a pet please note there is a $30 per day fee for the first pet and an additional $10 for the second pet. 2 DOGS maximum. You must clean up after your dog - that includes hair left by heavy shedding types. Dogs are not to be allowed on bedding or furniture and not to be left alone in the house for extended periods uncrated. All pets must be up to date on immunizations and flea and tick protection and be FRIENDLY and well socialized. Thank you!
Our stay was great. The house is clean, conveniently located, and perfect for a small family getaway. Owners are great with communication and speedy with replies.
Our stay was perfect! The house was clean, neat, and had everything we needed. Upon our arrival cell communication was horrible and the host was perfect in being diligent to get us the check in info we needed. Would definitely recommend for a family vacation spot.
This place was the best to spend girl time together. We have not seeing each other for a while and we had a great time at this place. Hot tube was nice and warm and talks and laughs were our goal. Canât wait to do it again. Thanks
We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was centrally located near Avalon pier and many shops and restaurants but very quiet location. Annette was super to work with, always responsive and easy to reach. Nice yard to allow for dogs, well maintained. Everything was perfect.
Very spacious house that was perfect for our 5 night stay. We sat outside on the porch every morning and evening and enjoyed the ocean breeze. The house had everything we needed including beach chairs. The beach is close enough to walk to but also had plenty of parking when we decided to drive. This house is close to everything and comfortable for three kids and three adults.
Great beach house for our gang! Plenty of room inside and out. The house was clean and well equipped. Really appreciated the nice grill area, outdoor shower and fully fenced back yard for the dogs. The hosts were great, providing easy check in and communication throughout our stay. WiFi worked perfectly. Our default hangout spot was the 2nd story covered front porch with plenty of seating and a great breeze. House is on a quiet street close to the ocean and the bay as well as stores, bars and restaurants. Nice bike/multi-use trails located just down the street on the bay side. We are already talking about when we will be back!
This house was perfect for us. Just one flight of stairs and then relax. Annette was great to communicate with and Greg popped over when we had a very small problem. Our pup enjoyed the back yard. I was super sad to leave. We cannot wait to return again!
We had an amazing time staying at Beach Girls. We decided last minute on having a family vacation due to my daughter expecting but it was one of the best trips we have had. The house was just as shown. Annette was super friendly and very informative. The beds were super comfortable and the house had everything we needed. Our dog loved sitting on the front porch and enjoying the breeze. We hope to stay again next year.
Great property and great location. Host was very helpful and checked in with us periodically throughout our stay. Just a few things to note, the living space is fairly small if youâre planning on coming with a larger group. It did great for my family of 3 and 2 dogs, but with groups of 5 or more people it could be cramped. Also, the fenced in back yard was great but there isnât a door that opens directly into the fenced in area. We travel with gates for our dogs so it wasnât an issue for us, but pet owners should plan on walking their dogs to the fence on a leash.
My husband and I visited with our 3 teenagers and they each brought a friend. We also brought our small dog. We were extremely pleased with the accommodations. Most importantly to me, the house was clean. The house felt much bigger than the listing and we really loved all the different common areas to enjoy. Plenty of space for 6 teenagers to spread out and not be on top of each other. Coffee in the morning on the front deck was wonderful. Soaking in the huge luxurious hot tub in the evenings was such a treat. The fully stocked kitchen and grill helped keep our food budget in check by cooking at home for several meals. The beds were super comfortable and surprisingly I didnât even miss my King size at home. The only regret we had was that the trip was too short. We were very happy with this rental and without a doubt rent it again. Thank you for the wonderful memories. Hope to visit again!
I booked this house bc of all the raving reviews of cleanliness. Not sure if they got a new cleaner or what the case was but it was not as good as I hoped. The throw rugs and mats were old and stained. The couch was old and had holes in it, the living room furniture was old and stained. The hammock was tangled and unusable. It was wiped down and the bathrooms felt clean, but this is definitely a no frills home. There were a couple of roaches (which could be from of lots of guests this summer?). Not sure how this house got over 20+ 10 out of 10 reviews. They must be taking down negative reviews. I will say that the owners were attentive when the hot tub wasn't working or the code wasn't sent in time, but overall we were quite dissatisfied. Won't stay again.
We are so sorry you were disappointed with your stay at the cottage. I assure you (and future potential guests reading this) that all reviews are 100% genuine, and we have not had any reviews "removed." (We wouldn't even know how to go about doing that and aren't aware that it is even a possibility, to be honest.)We use the same family of cleaners that have worked with us for all of the years we have been offering Beach Girls as a vacation rental, and we take pride in offering a reasonably priced, clean, comfortable beach cottage for families and their pups to enjoy the Outer Banks. But it is just that - a simple beach cottage. We are definitely NOT a new or luxury rental, as you point out, and we do not advertise that way. We found the hammock you mentioned in the backyard hanging on the fish cleaning station after you left and the wooden dowel had slipped down, but if you had messaged us, we would have explained how to use it. You may have missed the other, brand new hammock folded in the laundry room. Regarding the bugs you found (outside? alive or dead?), we are guessing what your refer to as "roaches" are what we call "Palmetto Bugs" and they can be found all over the Outer Banks. They are actually attracted to wooded and damp, wet areas - and while related to what you refer to as a "roach" - they're not the same thing, Even with regular pest control, as we have, they are a part of the Outer Banks flora and fauna, and cannot be eliminated entirely as long as trees and landscaping are around a house. With regards to the living room furniture, while it is older and coming due for replacement and there is a small hole on the seat of one the leather couches left from wear and the nails of a visiting dog - it is still very comfortable and clean and we are not aware of any stains in the leather. We have the leather furniture because we are a dog-friendly property, and the leather is easy to wipe down and keep clean after guests with pets. Regarding the code "not being sent in time," we had some major storms and outages that caused some delays in communication completely out of our control, but as soon as you called me directly, I helped you gain access to the house immediately. Again, we didn't hear anything from you during your stay about these "issues," other than the breaker for the hot tub possibly being tripped, which you told us not to come and investigate because you "figured it out", so we are quite surprised to hear them now. Our cottage was obviously not a good fit for your expectations, but we wish you the best in finding accommodations more suitable for your needs in future visits to the Outer Banks should you visit again.
We wanted a location not far from Duck and pet friendly.
This rental was located on a quiet street between the Sound and the ocean. Avalon pier was a short distance away. Rather than walk across the busy highway to reach the beach, we chose to drive to a free public access about 1/4 mile south of the pier (which charges for parking). We walked several times to the Sound where we found a nearby boat launch and a public access fishing pier.
The house itself was clean, had three large bedrooms on the top floor with attractive furnishings and comfortable beds. A bottom floor room had bunk beds. All bedrooms had a TV. One of the top floor bedrooms had its own bathroom while a second full bath was located in a hallway. A front deck on the top floor looked out on the neighborhood and had seating for six. The backyard was fenced in and included a fire pit and seating. One of our party made use of the hot tub and we all made use of beach chairs found in a ground floor storage room. The outdoor enclosed shower was handy for rinsing off sandy feet after beach excursions.
We chose to eat out for most of our meals but would have had no problem cooking with the equipment and utensils provided.
All in all we were very pleased with this rental.
Everything was perfect. The host is amazing, House was very clean, had everything we needed. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and my dog enjoyed playing in the fenced in back yard. Neighborhood was quiet and easy to navigate. Thank you for allowing us to stay. I hope to be back soon.
Everyone really enjoyed our stay. The home is family friendly and has several communal spots. The fenced in backyard was an added bonus since we took our dog. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to spend some quality time with friends or family.
Lots of rooms and space. We enjoyed the hot tub and the front porch. Hosts were super attentive. It is exactly like the pictures of the property. The only (very small) downsides were having to cross the highway to get to the beach (we drove instead of being able to walk) and the fenced-in backyard is pnly reachable by going outside and opening the gate (there is not a door from the house that leads to the backyard). Besides this, we really enjoyed our stay in this fun beach house and the hosts were superb.
My family and I (including our dog) had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Beach Girls. The house was very comfortable, located in a quiet neighborhood on the sound side but within easy walking distance to the beach. Thereâs a great coffee shop nearby, too. The owners were very responsive and accommodating to our specific needs, which we really appreciated.
