This house was built by my grandfather around 1940. It has been passed down through the generations and there is lots of family history between it's walls. The Sandbar is located in a quaint, quiet neighborhood within walking/biking distance to downtown Morehead where beautiful boats are docked and great restaurants, bars and shops await you. There also is a new playground with splash pad, tennis courts and pickleball courts available just blocks from the house. It is only a short walk down the alley to the Bogue Sound where you can sit and relax on the beach and watch the boats go by and the sun set. The Atlantic ocean is a short 2 1/2 mile drive across the bridge to Atlantic Beach. Just east of Morehead is beautiful Beaufort, a must see while you are in the area, which is the third oldest town in North Carolina.
The house has two separate apartments. The downstairs is for our guests and the upstairs is my personal apartment. Everyone has their own private entrance. You will find the newly remodeled kitchen and dining room ideal for cooking and entertaining your family and friends. The space includes a bright sunroom and outdoor deck for grilling out and relaxing.
There is a washer and dryer in the bathroom off of the sunporch for your use. There is also an outside shower with hot and cold running water for your convenience to rinse off or shower as you come in from the beach.
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was spotless and beautiful. It was so close to the sound. We can not wait to go back. Lucie is an amazing owner. She even left the light on for us when we were arriving later than I had expected.
Ludieâs place is unmatched in my book! The perfect cozy coastal stay. She was friendly and easy to communicate with. This place is spacious and has a charm that we are already missing. The public walk way to the sound (water) was the best unexpected surprise! We walked in the evenings and it was such a joy. Looking at dates for next yearâŠ. Canât wait to come back!
Loved our visit to Morehead City!We were in town for a family wedding. We felt at home at Ludieâs house! Such a convenient location to restaurants and the beach! We would definitely stay again and looking forward to it!
Nice neighborhood; main bath very small; other bath in laundry room, also tiny! Did not realize host would be staying upstairs, taking up parking at rear of home! Did not feel like we had privacy! maybe my fault for not being more diligent with pictures, description of property; I encourage anyone considering this unit to review carefully. Not really host fault, decent rental for the right people, just not for my family.
The place was great and I and my cousin loved it . Nice and quiet and homey. The lady who owns it was a great and wonderful person. She made us feel welcomed. Would recommend to family and friends. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip.
Very nicely decorated, furnished, and maintained property in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood. A bit far for walking to downtown but downtown parking is plentiful. Five-minute drive to a grocery store and, incidentally, the best pizzeria I've found anywhere in NC, Loretta's Pizza.
My (now) husband and I, along with another couple stayed for the weekend while we tied the knot in Beaufort. Really wonderful experience!
This rental is full of charm and inviting places to sit and relax. It is quiet and comfortable with all of the cool quirks you find in a property this age. There is a great, eclectic mix of modern upgrades/finishes and vintage coastal town home. The property manager(s) are lovely and attentive. We highly recommend this rental and look forward to staying here again!
