Camp Balsam built in 1905 lots of Adirondack charm just remodeled big dock on 4th lake for your boat or swimming screened in ft porch next to Dakiers bar and restaurant hiking trails kayaking mountain climbing shops and restaurants very close
There is a certain kind of peace here the kind that drifts in with the morning mist and first light through the porch screens and stays with you long after youâve packed the car.Thank you for sharing this incredible spot. The sunrise over the lake was worth waking up for every single day. The way everything is set up stocked, arranged, cared for made it feel easy to settle in and hard to leave. We spent our time soaking in the stillness, sitting a little longer than usual, and letting the hours unfold slowly (the way they are supposed to at a place like this).Wishing you calm water, good coffee, and mornings as beautiful as the ones weâve had here.
This wase an amazing stay! The location was perfect being right on the water, within a 10-minute drive to some great hiking spots, and Daikerâs restaurant a minute walk away! My wife and I had a great time being here and the kayaks were a nice touch as well. Dan was a great host!
We had the most wonderful stay at Camp Balsam. The cottage is in immaculate condition and was the perfect size for our family of 4. The cottage was extremely clean and included everything we needed from kitchen supplies to outdoor gear. Daniel was a great host - extremely responsive and thoughtful. We look forward to future stays at Camp Balsam!
Everything we could have wanted from a lake front cottage.
Dan went over and above to try and think of everything guests could want. Fully stocked kitchen utensils, games, books, VCR movies and player, flash lights, and on and on. He did a fabulous job installing a gorgeous new kitchen and bathroom. You still had that old cottage feel that came with couple small things like sticking windows and bedroom doors. Very nice furniture. We spent a lot of time on the on the screened porch. What a view of the lake! Great swimming off the dock. We brought our own boat but he even offered us to use his canoe and kayak's. We will go back some day!
Daniel provided everything you could ever need for a rental. The camp is beautiful and has so many nice upgrades, but kept some of the original stuff from the old camp that made it so special. The views are amazing and it was very cozy.
The cabin was great! The remodeling was nicely done but Dan kept some old features of the house. Dan was a very good host. He was there to let us know that if we needed anything that we just had to call him. he offered some places to go as well. We had just gotten married and Dan gave us a card and some champagne that were there when we checked in. Wonderful place to stay! Would definately go back!
This was the perfect getaway vacation. Dan has lovingly restored a classic Adirondack "camp" on beautiful Fourth Lake. The cabin had everything we needed, and if we mentioned anything else, Dan, who was just up the road, brought it immediately. We loved swimming in the lake, canoeing and kayaking on the boats Dan made available to us, the delightful and informative lake tour on Dan's boat, and just relaxing on the porch or the dock. For when we wanted a taste of civilization, it was great to have Daiker's restaurant and bar, with a balcony overlooking the lake, just steps away. Dan also told us anything we would want to know about all hiking, shopping, and other options in the area. Highly recommended!
My family had an amazing experience, both with the breathtaking view and with the overall rental process. The host, Dan, was incredible and thought of literally everything a person could ever need whole staying on his property. We can't wait to book again!
