First time at Norris Lake. We had a great family vacation at Night Sky. The location in the cove was perfect for paddle boarding and water fun. Be prepared for the stairs but that is common at most of the houses on the lake. Hot tub was great too!
Loved our week stay at Norris lake. This was our first trip and it did not disappoint. The kids loved the slide, fished off the dock and playing in the water. We loved the party deck to enjoy the view of the lake. We rented a boat and spent a lot of time out on the water. Overall highly recommend this house.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could. The house is great! Location is ideal, close to everything on the water and to the grocery store. The cove is peaceful and a great place swim off the dock. Kids jumped off the dock and went down the slide over and over again. Thereâs plenty of space for families, the house is clean and very comfortable, and thereâs a nice ATV trail to walk the dog. You canât go wrong with this pick!
Property was wonderful. Needs a little detail cleaning, and updated mattresses but otherwise great. Kitchen has awesome cookware and plenty of dishes and utensils.
We had an absolutely beautiful stay at this cabin. Everything was perfect for my wedding weekend. The host was easy to work with and quick to respond to all messages. The cabin and property were beautiful. Thank you
Wonderful place with beautiful views and the kids (ages 5-9) and adult dads loved the slide and jumping off the upper deck. The 73 steps was doable even for my husband and I who are in our early 70s. We had plenty of space with the bunk rooms and also enough room for the two year old and two infants to sleep in the same room with their parents.
The only downsides for us were that we would have liked more deck space on the lower dock instead of two slips with the little ones running around or being carried. It wasnât a deal breaker though. Also, the mattresses were very noisy even just getting in and out of bed or rolling over; Iâm not sure why, but we got more use to it after the first night or two.
We were very happy with the location and our ability to bring the dogs. It was a great place to spend the week with our family. Upon arrival there was a little hiccup with the entry code, but Jon was great and responded so quickly to get us the code. The location was wonderful and it was so nice to be in a gated community. The dock provided many nice chances to fish and enjoy outside - just be prepared for lots of steps (not a surprise based on the pictures). There was plenty of space for us (4 adults, 3 kids and 2 dogs). There were beds a plenty to choose from, but I could see that the house overall might be a little crowded if they were all full. But probably great if you are planning to spend all day on the boat and basically only sleeping there - which we were not doing. The house could use a little refreshing - the carpets were well loved, the dishwasher is loud, the dryer sometimes took two rounds to dry, and some basic decor updates. None of this impeded our fun. We had a great time and it was a great house for our spring break getaway.
Had a amazing time with the family The accomodations we're
good .Except original pictures showed single recliners s which we were expecting only way my husband could sleep could sleep .
.But I'n the end there was no recliners except I'n a couch . MY husband hardly slept ,! Which caused him to be in pain and tired ..I just wish we knew or I wouldn't have rented . House is missing more large spoons and wooden.spoons .large bowls refrigerator light . Splatter guard! Jack and .bathroom door needed doorknob fixed fire pit needs to come off of the deck until it's fixed .Also the stairs leading towards water leans right be careful . But over all we had a blast .
Night Sky is the perfect place for a family vacation! Our family of 11 had a terrific time here! John, the property owner, is extremely helpful and friendly. He did a great job communicating ways to make the Norris Lake vacation fun and special! Night Sky is equipped with a high chair, pack and play, and a swing on the deck, which I used to rock my grandson to sleep. We loved the size of the dock and the warm, clean lake water. This home's floor plan and decks provide lots of space to catch up with each other, and there are plenty of rooms if you need privacy during your stay. We enjoyed s'mores at the fire pit, swimming at the communal pool, and watching the Olympics and movies on the HUGE screen in the entertainment room. The extra refrigerator in the utility room was great for giving us extra space to keep drinks cold. John's email with directions and tips is extremely helpful. I did just like he suggested. I got life vests at Walmart, in addition to noodles, rafts, and rings. We rented a pontoon boat from Eric (Oasis Watersports) and had a blast riding on the boat and tubing all day! John, Eric and his cleaning/maintenance workers are a great team. They are there to make sure your stay is the best it can be!
Beware of the pictures online- they are old and misleading. This cabin is not nearly as nice as the pictures make it seem. The upkeep on the property doesn't appear to be a priority for the owner or the management group he uses. The floors inside the cabin are covered in dirt and grime. Our socks were black within an hour of being there. The counters and kitchen table were sticky and stained. The linens provided were not clean. They were stained and not fresh from previous guests. There were human hairballs when you pull back the comforters. Some bedding was missing. We finally found it in the dryer, where it smelled like it had been left wet to dry. The outside deck was covered in animal droppings. We know there is a lot of nature around, but you'd think they would clean between guests? The decks and stairs are slippery and in need of a good cleaning. There was trash accumulated all around the dock and stairs. The electric to the dock didn't work, meaning no lights in the evening when you come in off the lake. The twin bedroom is no more than a closet size room in the attic- you have to climb up very steep stairs- probably around a 60 degree angle to get to it. The hot tub water was dirty and not changed between stays as it says. We contacted the property manager and never received a reply. The owner did reply- he asked to send the cleaning crew back out which we said was OK. However. They left a comforter on the door and never even knocked or asked to clean. We purposely left people behind to wait on them. The houses around this one are in much better shape than this one. Renters beware!
We had a great trip to Night Sky! Owner communication was great and information provided was incredibly helpful! Our group ranged from kids at 7 years old to older adults at 72. The house accommodated us all with our 2 pups and 2 boats! The stairs down to the boat dock were a little difficult for the older adults, but that was to be expected and they managed just fine resting along the way. We had 3 large trucks as we towed boats down, which we found a little difficult to park, but there was overflow parking available and separate parking for the boat trailers. Boats and trailers cannot be towed back to the house, so it was nice for the trailers to be accommodated. The outside porch and yard could use a little scrub, but we managed just fine wiping things down. The only negative experience we had was not with the house, but with the Lakeside Estates boat ramp. Could have been us northern midwesterners not expecting how steep the ramp would be, but we struggled putting the boat in and out. We were successful but surprised by the difficulty we had. However, once we were in, it was nice that the house was so close! Overall, we had a great trip and would book again!!
We had a great time at the property. The house had lots of room so groups could easily split up and do their own thing if they wanted. The property was as described. The boat launch was close and convenient as was the store if you needed to run out for a few things ( we stay at Norris every year and this house was the closest to town while still giving you a secluded feeling) thanks to the owner for your hospitality. We will definitely stay again
This house is amazing the views and lake access are perfect. There is plenty of room for big groups and the kitchen is well equipped. Would definitely stay here again. We loved every moment of our stay. Thanks again for an awesome vacation!!!
great location on the lake
overall very high ratings in the accommodations especially as this rental allows dogs; nothing overly fancy but very functional ---the docks and slips were excellent
My large extended family had a blast while staying here. The house is located right on the river connected to Lake Norris. We kept a boat and several kayaks at the dock. There was a rope swing across the river and the jumping bridge and marina a short kayak paddle away. The house met all our basic needs. There isn't room for yard games as the front is all parking and the back is a slope to the dock. Plenty of fun activities nearby though.
Nice location with good water access. We checked in and immediately noticed bat droppings in the great room. We messaged the owner and he said thatâs how it is in a lake house surrounded by woods. He was going to have someone come take care of it/ never did. We could hear the bat squeaking all week. We also had a toilet leaking upstairs all week. Hehada plumber attempt to fix it several times without success. If you enjoy wildlife in your home and mopping toilet waterâŠTHIS IS YOUR PLACE!!
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was perfect for our 3 family group with plenty of sleeping space for all. The location is awesome! Close to the jumping bridge, no wake zone, and close to Sugar Hollow for boat gas, supplies, live music, and libations. We would stay there again, no question.
We had an amazing time. We are from Michigan and traveled for spring break. The location and home are wonderful. I would love to come back again. We had 13 people ranging from 3 to 83 and everyone had plenty of fun.
The only issue I had is we really wanted to rent a pontoon boat for the week and unfortunately even though to us Michigan folks it's warm here it was to early in the season for anyone that we could find to have a boat ready. This was nothing to do with the home but may be helpful info for anyone else looking at coming around this time.
The cabbing was perfect for us for ur family, we were 18 peopleâs all the space we need, the neighbors is quiet. The rooms was clean. We just love the house. The view of the house is gorgeous. We are definitely staying there again.
It was a great home for our group. Plenty of room inside and outside. The only concern was the lack of any kitchen condiments, including salt. So we had to make an extra run just to get a few bare essentials. Towels, toilet paper and soap were also at a very minimum especially for a house of this size and 12+ people staying. So yet another trip needed into town for hand soap, dish soap, and TP.
They say 'location' means everything. "Night Sky" is 7 minutes from LaFollette, 5 minutes from the main road, inside a gated community, nestled in trees, right on the water's edge.
I'm an avid fly fisher, my wife loves to golf, and my daughters never tire from wakeboarding so my whole family stays happy when we visit "Night Sky" cabin on Norris Lake.
