Wonderful place to stay for a family wedding. Plenty of room and cozy decorated tree that we loved. Very understanding and helpful with changing guests due to the wedding. Sorry we didnt get to see the Satsuma farm! Thank you, Caroline for everything!

Peaceful Get away

This property is amazing! So peaceful to see the sun set between the trees. There's a nice pond with little fish. The house was amazing with enough space.

Fun location

The natural beauty of the location was outstanding. The “barnominium” could use a deep cleaning and some real flatware in the kitchen. Overall it was charming and suited our needs. Property manager was lovely to work with.

Golf getaway

The accommodations served our needs of being close to the RTJ Highland Oaks golf course. The owner was responsive in answering any questions I had, and providing additional linens when requested. We did not cook here, so won't comment on that aspect of the stay. The only potential challenge for others, if they have mobility issues, is that all bedrooms are on 2nd floor. The 2nd floor BA is a jack & jill between 2 of the 3 bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay.

Cozy Citrus Farm

We were looking for a rental in the area and stumbled upon this unique property. The place is spacious but has cozy cabin vibes. The fireplace kept the place warm as the outside became a frozen wonderland. The kids loved running through the orchards and picking Satsumas before the freeze. The owners were easy to reach and helpful.

Great stay!

This property is beautiful! It feels very secluded but only takes minutes to get to groceries, restaurants, or other activities. Caroline was a great host, very responsive and checked to make sure the stay was going well. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We would love to stay again sometime!

Very Convenient

The property was very secluded and great for relaxing at, but also with a 10 minute drive of many stores and restaurants! The kitchen was nicely equipped for us to cook the majority of our meals at the house, too!

Came for Dothan Dragons ⚜ game

Our son & his best friend play for the Dothan United Soccer Club and we were able to come in town for the June 8th match. Suma Ridge was THE perfect place to call home for the couple of nights we were there. What a special and amazing piece of property & home! We were in awe of how beautiful the home & grounds are. We loved walking around the satsuma tree orchards and the entire property with our dogs, who were in heaven. The kitchen is really well stocked which is great as we needed to feed our hungry soccer player & his teammate. An amazing place that we hope to visit again. Thank you, Suma Ridge, for an excellent getaway!!

Great country getaway

Beautiful property, couldn’t believe the amount of privacy. Had everything we needed. Our dogs were able to easily walk around the property which is a rare luxury while traveling with pets. Can’t wait to go back with our kids!

Great getaway

My family very much enjoyed our stay at Suma Ridge. It was clean, spacious, rustic and private. We especially liked how peaceful and quiet it was, yet still close to Dothan (i.e. restaurants, mall, entertainment). We highly recommend and would definitely stay again when we’re back in the area.

Another great vacation

We absolutely LOVE this property! This is our 7th stay in 15 months and this has always been our go-to place to stay. The owners and caretaker are so easy to reach if needed. We love that the house has so many acres for our dogs to explore! We cannot recommend this place enough.

Man Cave on Orange Farm

Wood paneled, deer heads, fire pits, Grills, pond, orchards, showers but no tubs etc make this an ideal man cave lodge. Our grandson enjoyed walking the orchards with us and seeing the orange groves. Feeding fish in pond. Etc. Not too far from Dothan. How many is the red dirt which gets into white dog fur. Use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to get some of that clay color out. Would stay there again, and really enjoyed it

Country Escape

Suma Ridge was quiet and tranquil. The accommodations were as pictured and described. Our dogs enjoyed the country setting. We will definitely book this property again when we are in the Dothan area.

Great Alabama stay

The place was great! It was just as described and even better in person. The hosts were flexible and responsive for the few questions we had. The property was beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed the ducks, fishing, and shuffleboard!! Perfect for a family stay!!

Family friendly accommodations

The house was great and just a quick drive into town- really quite close. Owner and manager were extremely nice and easy to work with. The grounds were great. Our dog was so happy there. Our sons enjoyed playing shuffle board in the den. The views of the outdoors were beautiful from the living area. Only one drawback. The upstairs jack and jill bathroom had barn doors which didn’t provide complete privacy.

We decided to start "VRBOing" our family barndominium to share our farm with others. During your stay you will have as much privacy as you want, or you can choose to interact with caretakers and family members as they check in on the trees. And if you need anything, we will respond to messages as soon as possible through the VRBO app. The potential for your say is endless.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We chose this piece of property for its location, being a 5 to 8 minute drive from our hometown of Dothan, Alabama. We wanted a piece of land that could pass through generations, but was not a "long journey" to get there, and we believe this is the perfect place. The memories we have made as a family here are near and dear, and we hope you have the same experience.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our property stands out from the rest for several reasons, mainly because it is an operating satsuma farm with around 800 trees. Our family purchased this farm in 2011 and planted trees and began construction soon thereafter. Staying at our farm will provide guests with a peaceful oasis as you have the chance to hear birds chirping, see lightning bugs, walk around a beautiful farm, and fish. This is not just your typical VRBO, it is so much more.
