This is simply the best location in the valley. Most of the rentals are down lower in the valley where the bad air sits in the winter and there only views of the place next door. This location brings the entire valley and it's amazing views out of every window. Walk outside and look up at majestic mountains towering above you. Hike on those mountains without getting in a car and watch the fantastic sunset from 1000' (or 4000') above the valley. This is the private upstairs of my home in the East Millcreek which I still use. I've just started sharing it for those that will respect a nice clean space, a great location and views that will have you snapping pics. I take great care of this space and it's surroundings and it shows.
This is one of the most desirable areas for a home in the valley due to the location and it's proximity to ski areas, the city, and hiking and biking. A cozy base for adventure (ski, hike, bike, climbing, sightseeing) in the area or just to relax and enjoy the setting and views. There is easy access to six major ski areas within 20 minutes. The neighborhood is quiet and surrounded by towering mountains with hiking and biking trails with no driving needed. The views and sunsets from this space are special.
The house was just as shown. We especially liked the openness between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. One other main reason we chose this house is the larger bathroom with two sinks. That was very convenient. And the host, Matt, was extremely helpful and always quick to reply. I highly recommend this rental.
We truly loved our stay. The only issues is that the thermostat doesn't really work for the A. C, and it did get pretty hot. It seems like it was attached to the people staying downstairs. In which, when they used it, it was very cold upstairs. In addition we were unsuccessful at connecting our cell phones to the internet. But other than that, it is a very beautiful horror wonderful location. Gorgeous views, I would definitely stay there again.
We stayed here for a ski trip, and the house was only 30 minutes away from Park City. Everything was as advertised and we were very happy with our stay.
This is a nice place in a quiet neighborhood. Our stay was in the spring time and the flowers all around are beautiful. Two things to be aware of: there is a separate property with a separate entrance underneath so if someone is staying there too the upstairs occupants have to limit noise level (footsteps, TV, etc). The second thing is that the bathtub/shower is raised and has a small step stool to climb in. This did not present a problem for us, but for elderly or someone who doesnât balance well this might present a problem. There is a sturdy grab bar on the end of the tub. Other than those two things, the place was very clean and stocked with necessities. There is a grocery store and some restaurants close by and downtown Salt Lake is only 15 minutes away. The neighbors are friendly, the views are beautiful, there is hiking within walking distance and the host was easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay.
We really did enjoy our visit. If I had to give one peace of advise to future renters know what the heat is controlled by Google assistant and set to not exceed 72. For us Arizona folks it was a bit chilly. Also it appears the it is lowered during the day. The property owner did say he could change it by his phone. However, I really do not want to bother the property owner by sending him a message and waiting for a reply.
Also, there are people that share the house. I didn't realize this at first, but that was my fault for not reading the description thoroughly. You can hear the downstairs people upstairs.
Additionally, if they turn the shower on at the same time we are showering our water was down to a minimum in our shower.
The location was great, beautiful views of the valley.
Overall we really did enjoy our visit.
Fantastic place to stay. Convenient to the highway but far enough to not be bothered by the noise. Nice quite neighborhood, plenty of room in driveway, roomy interior with a modern kitchen. The only downside was the fan speed control in the master bedroom needs replaced as it induces noise in the fan. While the host now lives in Denver, he responded quickly to questions and his co-host lives next doors and was a big help. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved the vibe of this space so much. Just really nice and warm and cozy.... there are a lot of nice finishing touches and the new fireplace was awesome. Will definitely be back!
We had a great stay. Matthew is a great host. Very convenient location for skiing both Cottonwood canyons. All needed amenities nearby. House is very comfortable and well appointed. We highly recommend and will stay again the next time we are in Salt Lake.
My son recently had back surgery and had some complications. I was in town to give him some momma love and to help him get to doctorâs appointments. We were very comfortable hanging out at Mt. Olympus. When he was able, we took slow walks up and down the street. The neighborhood is clean and quiet. It truly felt like a home away from home! We did a lot of sitting/laying around so I feel qualified to say that beds and couches are perfectly comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook a meal. Grocery store is close as well as an abundance of restaurants; all within 5-10 minutes. Matt has put a lot of thought and care into creating an inviting space for guests. I would definitely stay here again, but hopefully for a fun travel visit!
The owner is accommodating and available should a problem arise! We totally enjoyed our stay snd the neighbors were great! Very quiet neighborhood even tho many children live there!
This was one house turned into 2 rentals. It was very nice inside but the doors didn't close for the bedrooms and the lower unit controls the temperature of the house so be prepared for that. Otherwise it was peaceful and clean.
This home was just as described. The home is a very clean fully renovated one level mid century in a very quiet neighborhood. Parking is on the driveway 10 steps from the front door, shopping is a 2 minute drive, even the smallest details were taken care of like a supply of Q-tips and cotton balls in the bathroom. The host Matt responded immediately to my routine question.
From the amazing view to the lovely decor!
This place was perfectly located for skiing and shopping. Spotless(wish my house was this clean)! Well stocked with all the amenities of a full kitchen, big bathroom, comfy beds, and nice linens! Shall I mention cold fresh powder skiing!!!
I'm from Rochester, NY and I moved to Salt Lake City in 1994 after several other stops. I have stayed here for the amazing skiing, climbing, canyoneering, hiking, biking, rafting and proximity to so many great National Parks. The snow is the best and the weather is great if you like sun and a high desert climate. I'm also an entrepreneur working on starting my own business in the action videography field. I worked for Kodak for several years as an engineer and then in sales and marketing. I am very customer service oriented and my goal is to give you the best VRBO experience you have ever had!
I have lived here since 1997 and although I have thought about selling because it's bigger than I need at this stage in my life I just couldn't do it and a friend suggested VRBO to share it with others and so I could still block out my own visits. The location is simply hard to beat if you are here for skiing, hiking, biking or just doing business in Salt lake City. The neighborhood is situated at the base of Grandeur Peak with beautiful Mount Olympus just to the South. Every time I look up at these mountains depending on season, time of day and weather they look different and amazing! You'll see what I mean when you stay here. You can hike, bike and even rock climb right out the front door without getting in a car. Everything including the airport is within less than 30 minutes from the house and that includes 6 major ski areas. There are a few more within an hour. Grocery, liquor store, restaurants, REI, Momentum Millcreek Climbing Gym just down the hill less than a mile. Just walking the neighborhood is amazing and a decent workout. I'm glad I didn't sell this home and now you too can see why I love it so much!
Sitting on the front porch to watch the sun rise over Grandeur Peak towering above as you sip your morning coffee is really special. My front yard is a favorite in the neighborhood so don't be surprised if someone compliments you as they walk by on their morning walk. In the evening that same porch is great for that pre dinner glass of wine as the orange sun lights up the mountains above. You can then step inside and watch the amazing sunsets over the Great Salt Lake out of the large windows in the living room. The living room glows orange at sunset. The kitchen, dining area and living room are open into one big space so if you're the chef you can keep talking to your family or friends lounging in the cozy living space or sitting around the island that includes the Thermador oven/stove. In the winter the setting is special and you may spot deer in the front yard or walking down the street or an Elk Herd up on the mountain above. The house is situated about 800 feet above the airport and city and at night the lights sparkle below you. If you happen to be here on the 4th of July or Utah's Pioneer Day (July 24th) you get the bonus of watching fireworks spread out across the valley below. There are a growing number of rentals in the Salt Lake Valley but the rentals in this special area are few and far between.
