Very nice, had storms come through over the night and lost water pressure but by 8:00 a.m. it was back on. Glad we had 4 wheel drive as the parking area was very step. Mad it interesting.
Overall it was nice. A little disappointed that we couldn't really use the hot tub. It never got above luke warm, but over all the place was a good location and we enjoyed it. The fire pit wasn't in a location you could lite and sit around due to the terrain. My little Honda struggled for a minute getting up the driveway, but we made it!
Such a wonderful little trip for the weekend. Cabin was amazing! Only draw back was neighbors were closer than I thought. Still had a great time though!
The cabin is nestled in the hillside amongst the trees. Cabin was cozy and clean. Didn't use the hot tub long as the 104 degree setting is too high. Enjoyed the weekend immensely.
Overall my wife & I would definitely recommend this cabin. The good far outweighs any negatives. As did everyone else, we loved the hot tub. One thing I didnât see mentioned is the outdoors. This cabin sits on a steep hillside near the top of the hill. There is a really neat outcrop of rocks directly behind the cabin. We did some hiking & really enjoyed the trails right out our back door. We grilled out one evening, had a campfire one evening & went out for dinner a couple of nights. Itâs located minutes away from âtownâ. A pointer: Pack light. As others have mentioned, there are 30 steps to the front door. They meander & weave through the woods. They arenât straight up. Donât pack all of your stuff into one giant 100 lb suitcase. I packed a giant cooler for the trip with food & drinks for the week, it wasnât fun hefting that up the stairs (my fault though, just giving others a heads up). Know that youâre in the woods. Insects & ants are a reality. Keep your food in the refrigerator or the microwave. The property is on a winding road that has other cabins along the way. The road is pretty rough in places & every car that goes up the hill seems to turn around right in front of this property. There is one cabin that is close enough that I had a conversation with my neighbor while we sat on our decks without raising our voices too much. We made it a point to play every board game & really enjoyed bringing the dogs.
Perfect size for 3 people. Property had all of the accessories we would need. Hot tub stayed warm enough for us. Beds were very comfortable. Wifi worked great.
Perfect for escaping daily chaos and relaxing in the hot tub or enjoying the view while reading in rocker on the porch. Peaceful and quiet and dog welcoming. The drive up was a little intense with such a narrow road, but well worth the adventure!
We loved every single detail of this cabin. From the amenities like the hot tub and backyard trail to the heated shower and dog treats given to us from the office.
Everything we did was in close proximity to our stay like the Reptile Zoo up the road and the Daniel Boone forest. We booked the cabin to relax and that is exactly what we did! We would book this stay again in a heartbeat!
The cabin itself was nice had games and puzzles was cozy and had most of everything we needed. Short drive to nearby attractions however the road to the cabin was very steep and narrow with lots of twists and turns.the dog run that looked spacious in pictures is not as big as we thought but was still nice to have for our dogs
We loved this trip!! We had an amazing time! We wanted to go see the natural bridge but there was a đ„ all weekend. We did 5 trails together and seen amazing views from the tip tops! We would definitely come back and next time bring our oldest two! We really enjoyed soaking our old bones in the hot tub! And sleeping in the loft and looking through the huge a frame house and the giant windows!
Great location, plenty of room for two couples. Very good if you have a dog or pet. We felt the deck area was not as clean as it could have been, probably because it does allow pets. However we would still recommend to friends.
Cabin was very nice and as described. The heat was out when we arrived to the cabin. The property manager came right over to check it out. He ended up having to call in maintenance, who was also very responsive. The issue was fixed immediately. The cabin was perfect for Family of four. Our teenage girls loved the loft and their own bathroom. The hot tub was clean. Very nice patio area. The dog run was a great addition. We enjoyed our stay and definitely stay here again.
Overall the stay was fine. However, the lengthy list of expectations (including no dog hair on rugsâŠ.) upon arrival for a dog friendly location was a little staggering. The dog run was unusable for our elderly dog. It seems to be primarily for small dogs.
Additionally, there was a major ant problem inside the cabin upon our arrival. They were all throughout the downstairs (7-8 at a time crawling across the floor and in the shower). We could not attempt to clean up the floors as instructed during checkoutâŠbecause there was no dust pan to utilize with the broom and the vacuum did not work.
With all that saidâthe location is perfect for enjoying RRG and outside activities.
Everything was as described. Very comfortable place. Appreciated being dog friendly. Even enjoyed the workout with the 30 steps getting from the car to the front door. Buckeyes were dropping nonstop... eventually got used to that at night.
Hot tub was growing algae and wasn't usable till day 3. They did give a gift card at Miguel's for the inconvenience but still when you have 2 grandsons who were looking forward to it and couldn't use it till day 3 at 9 pm was a big disappointment. The cleaning crew could have done a better job. Rubber toy found on side of bed in the upstairs guest room. Also, dog kibbles we're found on floor in dining room. The outside was loaded with massive webs and spiders and there wasn't anything on the property for us to get rid of them. Perfect Halloween setting but not what you want to see or deal with when arriving at your cabin. Especially since there was no way to get ride of them.
We really liked the look of the cabin and having the dog run was useful but beware the dog run is on a steep incline and if you have an elderly or larger dog he will have a hard time using it.
The cabin was decorated nicely and was comfortable for the 6 nights we were there. Bathrooms were were nice too.
Housekeeping needs to do a better job and owner of property should have property sprayed for spiders . There were massive webs everywhere with spiders the size of a half dollar and there was no way to get rid of them. We would have have liked to enjoy the green Adirondack chairs on the front deck but massive webs with giant size spiders prevented that. We spent most of the time on the back deck, thankfully the maintenance man who fixed the hot tub gave us a broom to help with the spiders out there. The inside of the cabin surprisingly had no spiders that I could see, so that was a plus. Overall we husband enjoyed our stay in the red river gorge area and would come back. I would consider coming back to this place because it was super cute but housekeeping would need to be improved as well the spider nests.
This was a great location for our 3 day trip to the Red River Gorge. The cabin was exactly as advertised. We enjoyed it so much. The only thing I would mention is the road leading up to the cabin is pretty steep and a bit scary when you first encounter It! Four wheel drive would be beneficial and probably necessary in winter! But honestly, it was a wonderful experience!
We enjoyed our stay at this A frame (chalet style) property. The outdoor space is beautiful, with the covered back deck and enclosed dog run. This property reminded me of a 'grown-up' tree house (in the Daniel Boone National, Forest.) The interior details, like the hardwood flooring, and Kerr glass sconces, are a wonderful touch. The front porch is a great morning spot for enjoying a cup of coffee. It is a lovely, secluded spot. You will need a vehicle that can trek up to the Lane.
Great little cabin nestled up in the hills of Red River Gorge. Very close to the Natural Bridge State Park, and the property is perfect for four people. There is 1 bedroom with a door, and a loft with a bed upstairs too. Hot tub was wonderful & we had a great trip!
My husband and I were visiting our daughter who lives in Kentucky. The cabin was great. I appreciated the fireplace as the mornings were cold. We also liked the fully stocked kitchen and cooked a meal there. The dog run outside was useful and even came stocked with plastic bags for poop cleanup.
Sherwood Forest sleeps 4 and is tucked away on a hillside. Perfect to rest your weary bones after a full day canoeing, hiking or climbing. Cabin is pet friendly limit 2. PLEASE NOTE THAT CHECK IN IS AT OUR OFFICE
