Beautifully renovated home right off Magazine Street! Walk to the many shops, galleries, restaurants and bars that Uptown has to offer. Lavishly designed with unique furnishings; this home will be your sanctuary after a day of exploring the city. Located in the Touro - Bouligny neighborhood, which offers a rich cultural experience of architecture, dining, local art & shopping, pubs and bars.
The property is in an ideal location, close enough to walk to the Magazine St shops, restaurants and bars, but far enough away to not be disturbed by noise. The area was safe and on-street parking was never a problem. The property itself is small but well laid out, with a kitchen, sitting/dining area and two separate lofts for sleeping. As a family of 4, we were very comfortable here.
Half a block off Magazine, this charming little place fit the bill. Beds are on second level but bathroom is on ground floor. Could be an issue for those less mobile but was fine for us.
Would definitely stay there again. Great host, easy check-in and checkout. Really cute place. Decorated nicely as well.
My son and I stayed at the house. Less than a block from Magazine street, close to many restaurants and shops. Everything at the house was very clean and in working order. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep, so if that is trouble I would find a different place. Otherwise, this place is really great for visiting New Orleans.
This place has amazing Victorian charm! It is perfect clean quaint & comfortable. I definitely recommend and give 10 starts! A true treat!!;-) Thank you
We had an excellent day from beginning to end. A few little glitches came up, and the property owners were very quick to take care of the issues and communicated with us promptly. The home had everything we would need for a short stay. We were able to do some, simple cooking and relaxing at home in the evening. The location is just a few steps off magazine Street, leaving the home very quiet especially for sleeping. There was just a one block walk to public transportation, and either direction. Grocery store and drugstore a few blocks away, and plenty of restaurants to be found! Highly recommend.
House was in the perfect location. After looking around for something to accommodate our small family for jazz fest i found this Gem.
Always wanted to see inside a new orleans home.
Years of hotels did not allow. It was everything i could expect. House is decorated by someone with taste. Furniture was really comfortable beds slept great. Really quiet at night. During the day we were able to walk onto magazine st. Food shopping as far as you can go. My wife said it was her favorite short term rental we have ever stayed at. Kitchen was perfect to have a night in.
I could go on but if you have read this much you understand.
Low down:
Comfortable like home
Quiet neighborhood
Lots of shopping / dining options close by
Perfect for small family
Donât second guess
The home was quiet and lovely, and in a great location. Check in/out was simple. I would totally recommend this place if it hadn't been for the deposit situation.
Be warned that VRBO demands a very large deposit (more than my monthly mortgage), and the owner insists it be taken 30 days in advance of the stay. That's a free loan for at least a month and a half OR you have the option to pay for the insurance. While the deposit is a bit ridiculous, I would have been okay with paying it a few days or a week in advance. But demanding to hold that amount for a month and a half OR paying extra for insurance is insane. Never again.
Stayed at this property last year and wrote a wonderful review. So planned our trip on staying here again. This year rates were raised from last year but we had such a great stay we decided to book anyways. Arrived and checked in early which was nice since we had our 4 year old. Within minutes my wife is screaming and i run to see her legs covered in Fleas. We grab our stuff and vacate the property. Her legs are covered in bites, i am picking fleas off my child. What a way to start JazzFest. Contact Management and Vrbo .
A manager from Vello comes by with in the hour and as i am showing him the problem my arm is covered in Fleas . After a back and forth i was told they would try to relocate us to another property. Real easy on busiest weekend of the year. So after about 2 hours and plenty of phone calls we get the news we are on our own and need to find different accommodations. Partial refund because Vello did not cancel reservation and there was about 900$ that did not get refunded until i made more calls. I get this not going to be everyoneâs experience with this property, just want to share mine.
This is an excellent place. It is clean and very close to lots of restaurants on Magazine St. Owner was very responsive to our requests. The beds are on the second floor, up fairly steep steps or a small spiral stair, which was not an issue for us, but good to know ahead of time. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner here and there were plenty of utensils and pots (no spices or other pantry items besides paper towels though). 10/10 would stay here again.
This property is private, quiet, and clean. There are very steep stairs up to the sleeping loft, which was not a problem for us but might be for some. The place is kind of dark and the front porch is small, so during Covid it's a bit depressing. We spent a lot of time out walking as a result. Magazine Street is of course great, with tons of places to have coffee, shop, or eat right nearby.
The little home is charming and well appointed. It is cozy and had everything that we needed for a break from the Seattle rain. It's literally right around the corner from Magazine and close to the Garden District for shopping and delicious food. It really was perfect... thank you!
My experience at this lovely property has been nothing shy of amazing. You really canât beat the location! I went to college in New Orleans so Iâm familiar with the city. Youâre just far enough from
The craziness of the Quarter and close enough to Uber to great restaurants, like Meril. Youâre just a few blocks from the streetcar that can take you both Up and Downtown. Also, youâre just off Magazine St which you could explore so easily. I had a lovely time at this rental. It was clean, safe, and had everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. Couldnât recommend it more!
The pictures of this rental are exactly how it looks! Very fun and cute decor, extremely comfortable beds, and relaxing space. All beds are located on upper levels, which the stairs are VERY steep. Upon arriving, I would absolutely recommend the host ensures the front light is on. We arrived after sunset and it was so dark in the front, we could not even see the house number and gave an uncomfortable/creepy feeling. There was also a huge tv box or something that was blocking the entryway. It was huge and in the way the entire weekend. But there was no where to toss it. House was very clean, other than a stain on one of the duvet covers (looked like blood). The hosts were nice enough to leave a note, welcoming us to the home, gave a few recommendations, and said to enjoy a free bottle of chilled champagne! This was all nice except the paper was clearly left over from a previous guest, because they had left notes for the host on it and also there was no champagne in the fridge. The paper being left over made it seem like someone didn't throughly cleanup the house before us, which then made us nervous about what else we would find. We also arrived the night of a rainstorm and the stair case in the back was covered in water.. Full puddles, which we had to walk through to turn the light on at the top of the staircase because the light in the staircase did not work.. The wiring/lighting seems to be a huge issue for this rental; the light in the hallway up the black staircase didn't work and neither did the light fixture in the kitchen. This made the house very very dark and was a bit annoying. We ended up switching out a lightbulb in the staircase & that helped, however none of the other lights in the kitchen chandelier even worked. The other major issue we had was water temperature. We all had a warm shower the first day and then ice cold showers the rest of the weekend. We tried so many things to get the water hot, but to no avail. The kitchen sink water also never got even warm. Other than these issues, the stay was great! Nice enough to provide bottled waters, plenty of towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, they had everything! The house is in a perfect location, less than a block off of Magazine. We were able to walk every day to coffee shops, shops, bars, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Ubers to French Quarter were only about $11, so not bad! Overall we loved the home & our stay, but could use some help with the details. Little things add up.
We loved staying here. Perfect location right off of Magazine. Super cute, clean, and I wish it was mine! Walking distance to all my favorite Magazine shops. Easy Uber or drive to Superdome and French Quarter. Highly recommend!
