My Mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The bedrooms were not only comfortable but beautiful. Sitting on the front porch in rocking chairs was the best way to have morning coffee. The house is in a good neighborhood⊠so close to Magazine St. and St Charles. Our hostess was friendly and attentive. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
âThank you for a wonderful stay! The home was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. We truly appreciated the thoughtful touches and attention to detail that made our trip so enjoyable. We would be happy to stay here again!â
A REAL GEM located in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in New Orleans.
Everything the other reviewers had to say is true! We thoroughly enjoyed ours stay in this one of a kind beautiful gem in a fabulous location. Meeting the owner, Claire, a native of New Orleans was also a bonus. We have already made reservations to return with friends. Highly recommend!!
Had a nice stay, very clean and Clair the host was very sweet and accommodating. Great coffee/tea bar and the bathroom was very well stocked. I was disappointed in finding out upon arrival there was no available kitchen. Great if you only need a bedroom and bathroom.
Great location and comfortable, clean place to stay. Enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch. Claire was a pleasure to work with and very responsive.
Husband and I in town for family event-3 night stay. Very comfortable accommodations. Great host â very knowledgeable about the city -places to visit and dining in the area. highly recommend.
This place is absolutely charming. We loved all the New Orleans books and restaurant recommendations. If you forget any toiletries, this place is well stocked. The owner is onsite and very friendly. We loved walking to Audubon Park and sitting on the front porch.
Our hostess Claire was just so sweet! She had everything we needed, coffee, real creamer, small frig, wine glasses and even brought us snacks!! The home is tiny but so comfortable. We loved sitting on the porch in the evening. We went with dear friends so the shared bathroom was not an issue for us. Just be aware that you have to walk through one bedroom to go through the bathroom to reach the second bedroom. The neighborhood was very quiet and located just outside the hustle and bustle of the city. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. Thank you Claire for our gifts! Want a perfect reminder of our Super Bowl weekend!
An Abundantly Charming Stay, with a Touch of Old Southern Heritage
I recently spent a delightful stay at Claireâs lovely home in New Orleans. The house itself is charming, featuring beautiful furnishings and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Claire goes above and beyond as a consummate host: sheâs incredibly knowledgeable about all things NOLAâfrom local eateries and music venues to city history youâd never find in a guidebook. If youâre interested in immersing yourself in the traditional side of New Orleans, youâve come to the right place.Location and Convenience:âąThe home is within easy walking distance of the streetcar, so getting around the city without a car was a breeze.âąWe noticed that parking would have been simple and hassle-free if we had chosen to rent a carâample space and no confusing restrictions.New Orleans Roots:âąClaireâs family traces back to old New Orleanian roots, complete with plantation-era lineage. Sheâs active in several womenâs social clubs and you might even find an application for a Mardi Gras Krewe on the end table.Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend Claireâs place for travelers seeking a quintessential New Orleans experience.
Great location! Convenient to Whole Foods, shops and restaurants. Quiet neighborhood, and great front porch to sit and relax. Clean, great layout and perfect for couples with another guest
We have stayed in many locations around New Orleans. This is a great location, vintage feel, quality hospitality, and a great choice for a couple or small family.
The property was very comfortable and very nice. I love the antique vibe with the high ceilings. It was very tastefully decorated and the bathroom was wonderful. Then there was the relaxing front porch with wonderful rockers. The neighborhood was very friendly with people walking their pets.
Mrs Claire was the best hostess. So friendly and eager to share her wealth of knowledge about her fair city with us. She added an extra dimension to our trip. She treated us like family which is so rare these days.
I highly recommend her home.
Claire is a lovely host and her home was perfect! She has everything we could ask for and even some things we forgot (ie. fans & sound machine). The house is easy walking distance to Magazine st., a cute bookstore, and the St. Charles street car. The neighborhood is really quiet and the perfect place to enjoy coffee on the porch. I would definitely stay here again.
This was our second time to stay in Claireâs beautiful home. Claire is so friendly and knowledgeable about all things NOLA! The location is so convenient, and we feel really safe and comfortable there. We will definitely be back for a third visit!
Nice location and easy access to Tulane and good restaurants nearby. Easy street parking. Comfortable beds. Nice hostess. My only heads up is that there is no kitchen and the second bedroom is reached through a shared bathroom.
That all works for me - but maybe not for all guests that could stay here.
Stay here, look no further. Lovely, Clean, convenient, perfect!
Excellent communication with the host, promptly addressed any questions or concerns, provided tips and recommendations for food, activities, and history of the area. Host is a New Orleanian with plenty of helpful information and suggestions during our stay.
Nice quiet neighborhood with a chance to enjoy the street car a fee blocks away and Uptown/Garden/Quarter a few minutes away.
I have owned this home for 22yrs. I enjoy my poodles and do fostering for Creole Poodle Rescue. New Orleans is my birthplace and may have gone away to Ole Miss (University of Mississippi) for college, but as a typical New Orleanian, always come back. I went to school in the Garden District and know New Orleans well. Happy to share my knowledge of the city as a local.
This property is a located in the heart of Uptown with many opportunities that are in walking distance of fun shopping, dining & parks. I wanted to have a real neighborhood where everyone knows your name like the show "Cheers" or at least your dog's name. I grew up in another part of town and when looking to buy, this was the right size and perfect. I love my house and my neighbors and they look out for everyone. I sit on my porch or stand on my corner and watch the world go by. It's been amazing to see it morph as new families have moved in and added their own touches to the homes, but kept the integrity of the old New Orleans charm & appeal.
There's a great porch to sit, visit & relax on as you sip your cup of coffee and eat a doughnut or have an appetizer & wine. Natives call it sitting on the stupe. You can watch the sunrise too. The front 2 rooms have plantation shutters that allow natural sunlight to come in during the day and 12ft ceilings which before air condition helped the hot air to rise and fans and transom windows above the doors to circulate the air. The house has beautiful old gas fireplaces and pocket doors. The bathroom is more modern and attractively done with new marble counter top.
