Let this property become your home away from home. With three bedrooms, a loft, and pull out couch there is more than enough room to bring the whole family! Wake up each morning to the picturesque Lake Okoboji and enjoy your coffee on the covered deck or on the large dock. This getaway is conveniently located next to the bike trails and downtown Spirit Lake, IA. Whether you are here to boat, fish, bike or just simply escape day to day chaos, this is the place for you! Located just minutes from Grocery Stores, restaurants and gas stations. Also, 3.3 miles from Barefoot Bar.

Check in was easy, kitchen was wonderful. Could have used a larger coffee pot . Dock could use some attention and fixing as a board was broken and many boards were unsteady. Overall, a nice home for our little getaway.

Lake vacation fun!

This property was absolutely perfect for our family. We were able to enjoy both the indoor area with a large open concept and the outdoor area with the perfect lake view and the fire pit area where we hung out for morning coffee and evening drinks and conversation! Fun lakehouse for a family trip!

We had a great time at this lakehouse! We had adults and kids ranging from 2-13, and all had fun! The fenced in backyard was nice, and it was nice being able to go out on the dock and fish. Bedrooms were nice and spacious. We had a few questions during our stay, and Bailey was always quick to respond. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

Wonderful time at the lake

We had a mini family reunion with all ages of kids. The bedrooms were perfect for us. Wonderful view and dock. Cooking area and patio was lovely. Lots of flies in the whole area so having a stringer screen door would be better.

Weekend Fall retreat

Overall the cleanliness of the inside of the house was good. Whoever is hired to do the cleaning did not clean the coffee pot or the Keurig after the last visitors and it was very bad However, the outside was overgrown and uncapped.

80th Birthday Celebration

My son spent the first two hours we were there weed whacking the back grassy area. No ladder to get in and out of water from dock. House itself was great and loved the quiet area it was in. Overall we had a wonderful time.

Nice House Could Use Some TLC

The location and property were very nice. Having access to a private dock was great. The overall cleanliness and yard were in need of some extra care. The house could def use a deep cleaning and the yard needs some work. Communication and working with host was extremely easy and quick. Would recommend this listing to anyone traveling with family or friends.

Nice area and close to an amazing breakfast and burger place.

They have really been working on the inside of this property and it looks great! Nice area and clean. However, the outdoor space was disappointing. Weeds along the fence and piled up lumber from the pier with overgrown weeds among the lumber. Beautiful deck with a cover, but the cover was loaded with dirt and cobwebs. The view was amazing if the weeds and unkept outdoor area was kept up! Overall, I would still recommend this property if you don’t mind overlooking the mess outside!!!

No boat dock avaliable

Boat dick was removed and laying in the back yard. We had to cancel the rental boat and jet skis because there was not a place to tie them off on the water and swimming was non existent as there was a lot of rocks and couldn’t get to a good swimming area for the kids that was safe.

Nice house that needs more attention

A lot of little things spoiled our visit. The lack of a dock and yard space was hard with kids....this was NOT the owners fault,but due to the high lake level. The bunkbeds in the loft were so squeeky that they were horrible to use. Lots of dust under the upstairs beds. Murphy bed was nice, but it wouldnt stay down when you got off. Some kitchen areas were not cleaned well. The Air Conditioner unit was very dirty and not running efficiently until my son in law cleaned it. Could be a really nice property with more attention to details.

The property was advertised. We made our reservation in May of 2022 for our son's wedding on September 10th of 2022. We were required to pay a three thousand dollar deposit for a three night rental! The owner held the deposit deposit for almost 3 months! I emailed the owner to ask why it was so high but never got a response. That seems very high to me and I wouldn't do it again. It took another two weeks after the conclusion of our rental to get our deposit back.

House was cute, good location, great to be able to use the garage. A few items need attention: Screen door was not on sliding glass door. My husband found it in the garage and installed it. But it needs a new threshold. And housekeeping might vacuum out tracks. Flooring strip In dining room missing; it was propped up against the wall. Needs to be glued back down. The yard is in terrible shape. Hasn’t been mowed or weed eated in weeks. Shrubs, trees need to be trimmed. There was a problem with gnats and flies. Might consider pest control. Suggest lamps be added to living room and upstairs bedrooms. We moved the lamps from the master bedroom to the living room for reading.

This was a very nice property. There were a few deficiencies that I will list first. There was a big broken board on the dock that one could fall through. Very dangerous. I found a piece of wood to put over it but still a major deficiency. Also the lawns had not been mowed in weeks. Grass was over 14 inches long in places. Oak tree dropped tons of acorns and there no broom to sweep the patio so we bought one and left it. No instructions on using any of the appliances. The combo microwave oven was very annoying to use, and it took over 5 minutes for 1 mug of water or milk. Made a LOT of extraneous sounds that were loud and annoying. The Murphy bed hydraulics were set way too tight, and hard to pull down, and would not stay down. Not usable. The hideabed was way too uncomfortable to be usable. One person pull down murphy and hold it, then 2 would move mattress on top of the hide a bed, then let Murphy bed to spring back. That worked fine (with some cushions under head of the mattress). Location was great. Big kitchen really nice though many pots dont work on induction stove. Never used before. Hated it. I now know I will never get one. Was a little challenging getting in water with kayaks from high dock but hoist was great! Great bass fishing! Big for length and hard fights. One son caught a PB of 3.1 lb, another 3.0 lb. then beat it with 4.5 lb. I caught a 6 lb drum. Lots panfish off dock. Had a fantastic time. Goodies choc store a must!! This area of lake nice and quiet.

Labor Day

We had a very nice vacation at this property. There is plenty of places to go within walking distance and it isn't too far from shopping, gas, etc. For being in Okoboji, this property is located in a slightly more private, less wild, setting. It was perfect for the kids to fish and boat safely and had plenty of room for our group of 7 and a dog. We would definitely stay again.

The outside of the location needs to be tended to, weed pulling and pressure washing would do wonders. The kitchen inventory is very limited and needs more seating space for conversation. The garage was full of garbage from past renters and smelled!
