Come and get away! Enjoy a country setting in our custom Lindal Cedar guesthouse nestled in a vineyard setting! Half a mile from amazing biking and hiking trails at Harvey Bear Park! Minutes away from lovely wineries and Gilroy Premium Outlets! Our property also houses a small farm with friendly Nigerian Dwarf Goats and free range chickens of various colors! A great place to stay!

Jon and Aly were great hosts, and their place was a wonderful treat for us. Aly showed us all around and explained what they are doing there. We were very impressed.

Farm stay

Barrel Creek farm is a great place to stay, rest and relax for a few days. The farm next to the cabin provided great distraction for kids and adults, plus the fireplace and BBQ grill provided great evening meals. Though the farm is about 15 mins away from most amenities, traffic was light and getting to most destinations were easy n straight forward. Definitely a place for couples with young kids.

Perfect little getaway

Pleasant and unique place right off 101. Perfect location close to Coyote Lake and several wineries. Accommodations were clean, comfortable, peaceful and private. We enjoyed walking through the orchards, feeding all the farm animals and having the chickens come visit us in the backyard. Aly and Jon were wonderful hosts.

Farmhouse Hideaway

We enjoyed 5 nights at the property. Our destinations included Gilroy Gardens and Monterey Bay Aquarium. Both excursions were enjoyable, however, returning back to the farm was a highlight of our trip. We loved interacting with the animals, exploring the property with our 3 year old, and the fresh fruit & eggs courtesy of the hosts. Thank you Jon & Aly for the wonderful getaway.

Great place for a weekend (or longer) get-away

It's a great place, easy to reach from the Bay area, very clean and taken care of. Particularly good choice for families with smaller kids who can spend the whole day feeding chickens, goats and sheep. There is plenty of room in the bedrooms to put a travel crib, some toys are provided. Close to restaurants for a quick lunch. Backyard surrounded by bushes and trees gives a lot of privacy, it has barbeque, firepit and a nice area for eating outdoors/sitting and relaxing;-)

Sweet little farm stay

I stayed here with my husband and two young children. It's a sweet little cabin on a farm with free range chickens and my kids looked forward to feeding the goats, sheep, and chicken every day. AC kept us comfortable in the cabin. Thank you for sharing your property with us, Aly and Jon! Would recommend for anyone looking for a little slice of country life not too far from the hustle and bustle of the Bay.

Nice little cabin away from the city but close enough

We really liked the stay at the cabin overall. Still, you need to manage your expectations as the listing is promising a farm stay which I don't think it is in a way most people would image it. good things: 30 min from San Jose, 50 min to Monterey, 50 min to Santa Cruz. Secluded, close and safe environment for kids to wonder around in the morning (before it gets hot). Friendly owners, Jacuzzi in the evening, visit to the animals with the owner not so good things: its a cabin, so don't expect luxury, no dishwasher, rooms get too much light in the morning so if you are a light sleeper you will wake up at 7 am with the roosters. All in all we had a good time, my kids loved it, my wife would prefer something more house-like. I am fine with anything that has walls and is clean, which it is :) But its not a farm, do not expect milking the cows or driving on a tractor, it has chickens running around and you can pet the goats but that is it. For now. The owners are working on it!

We made the best memories!

Our stay at The Vine Cabin was a first time mom daughter trip for my 9-year old and I and it did not disappoint! The hosts were amazing and communicative, the property was spotless, the hot tub and farm animals were the icing on the cake! You have got to meet Gilbert AKA the friendliest goose in the world, and Minnie the record-setting miniature goat! We loved playing with the mega size connect four game inside and corn hole outside. We tried the hammocks in both our yard and the vineyard, the view from the huge primary room was stunning (3 windows!) and seeing the stars at night and hearing the frogs was beyond memorable. We can’t wait to go back! Ideal stay for anyone who wants an (easy!) taste of country life.

Outdoor fun and friendly hosts

Aly and Jon were super nice and willing to show us around. My kids loved interacting with the goats and chickens. The hot tub was great too.

Perfect Country Haven

This little home was clean and well-appointed with everything you would need for a short stay: clean towels (more than we needed), a little toiletry kit, and comfy bedding. We enjoyed having our own private getaway while we were down in the area visiting family & friends. Hosts Jon and Aly were very kind, even letting us spend a few minutes with 2 newly-born goat kids! Overall a wonderful alternative to a multi-night hotel stay since you have your own space to relax, cook, or just enjoy the country atmosphere.

Amazing gem in San Martin

The Vine cottage is amazing! Aly and Jon were gracious, friendly host who were happy to visit and equally as unobtrusive. The cottage reflects great care in the design. It feels like a cozy cottage with every updated modern amenity. The decor is adorable and the space is functional and clean. We stayed with our teen son and are looking forward to returning. San Martin wine trail is right across the road. Hollister Hills SVRA is a short drive away and we enjoyed immensely being able to access outdoor space. Shopping in Gilroy is nearby as well. The Vine Cottage is worth it!!!
