We had an excellent stay! Everything was perfect and the hot tub was exceptional. This was absolutely our best stay to date. We will definately be using VRBO over hotels from now on. Host was exceptional and home was everything expected. Thank you for sharing your lovely home! A perfect weekend!

What a great experience, we had so much fun! Apparently made it to "dream home" status for one of the kiddos and all of them agreed it was the best vacation we’ve ever taken. We love Barren River lake so we spent most of our time on the water swimming, cliff jumping and tubing, but LOVED having a fun place to return to when it was over.We made some core memories playing pool, lounging in the hot tub, watching movies in the barn, building a fire & making s’mores with the skewers the hosts left for us. It was such a fun getaway.

Home has a classic charm and great Lake house feel. Large open floor plan for living, dining and kitchen area are great for our long weekends with extended family. All appliances are in great order and small details like ice machine and beverage refrigerator are great touches and conveniences. Bonus space for older kids in the "Barn" space are family favorites.

The house was phenomenal. The kitchen was well-equipped and we loved the water so much that we ended up staying at the house and just cooking our meals there. We loved the living room/kitchen/dining area and hung out there most of the time. Everyone had their own room. My 17-year old son loved the barn where we spent a lot of time playing pool. We had a kayak and a couple paddle boards that we took down to the water every day. We paddled down to the bridge 2 miles south of the house and only saw a few fishermen. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Our stay here was wonderful, everyone had an awesome time and the home is extremely beautiful with a lot of space for larger families. The neighbors were extremely welcoming and a joy to speak with! Our host was very inviting and met any / all issues quickly and efficiently. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Wonderful lake vacation

Our family of 8 had a wonderful time on Barren River Lake. The house is very spacious and well appointed. The deck is enormous and a nice place to hang out. The walk to the lake is through a wooded path just two properties over. The lake is very high right now so dock access was challenging (host forewarned us!), but we were able to launch the kayaks (we brought) straight from the “beach”. The teens loved playing on the provided paddle boards in the little cove. We rented a pontoon boat for one day which was just a 15 minutes drive from the house. Also enjoyed Pages Pizza one night.

Great outdoors getaway!

My friends and I loved our stay and honestly wish we stayed longer. As a city person and it being my first time in Kentucky I was unsure if I would enjoy the amount of nature around but it was so relaxing that I wished we stayed more. The deck and screened porch is a great space to hang out with friends and even work remote. I loved sitting there in the morning. The kitchen is super updated and cooking was a breeze since it has every appliance needed. Rooms and bathrooms are also very clean and beds were very comfortable. We brought our own groceries as there isn't really a big grocery near by other than Dollar General. We went to Mammoth Cave which was fun and the hot tub and fire pit was amazing after! Highly recommend this spot. Super well maintained, homey feel and very cozy!

Incredible Barren River Lake Family Retreat

The property exceeded our expectations, which were high based on the great pictures. It easily lived up to everything listed, and then some. The owners, clearly go the extra mile to provide a beautiful and spacious lake home that was spacious, quiet, well appointed and extremely clean. What a fabulous spot to spend family time! The kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils and many extras, making cooking for large groups easy and enjoyable. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus, providing a relaxing experience for us to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Some of us were in the hot tub while others were at the fire pit. We even had plenty of firewood. Plenty of little nooks, inside and out, for individuals to find a quiet spot to read, nap, or listen to music. Also, lots of room for gatherings, conversation and making memories and we hope to stay here again in the private, fun spaceWe didn't use the dock because of the rain, but it was a fairly level and easy walkIt is great to have options for rain or shine and we can't wait to book another stay! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful and comfortable space to relax and recharge.

Absolutely magical stay!

Absolutely magical stay! We came with our extended family—10 of us total—and this lake house couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how clean, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully set up everything was. The house itself is fantastic, with cozy yet spacious rooms and those peaceful forested lake views melt our stress away. The hot tub was a total hit—whether it was morning coffee or late-night chats under the stars, we couldn’t stay out of it! We also loved paddleboarding and just floating on the lake. The kitchen was a dream—fully stocked with everything we needed (shoutout to the brand-new ice maker!) and a massive table that fit all of us comfortably for meals and game nights. It really made family time easy and fun.Our twenty-somethings basically moved into the barn the moment we arrived—and honestly, we hardly saw them part of the time, they were having that much fun and could sleep in late! Between the pool table, darts, and just having their own cool hangout space, it was like a mini-vacation within a vacation with just enough family time vs. hang out time. Meanwhile, the rest of us soaked in the quiet, sipping coffee on the screened porch & on the back deck, surrounded by a serene peacefulness.It’s rare to find a place that offers so much fun & serenity all in one place—but this one absolutely nails it. We’re already talking about coming back. Highly recommend!

Great cabin for a getaway weekend. There is no lake access so we were bummed about that. Was clean and comfortable. Group of 10 people fit just fine. Fire pit, hot tub, and grill were great! Just wish we had been allowed to swim off the dock nearby. There is a section of lake 10min driving distance away where we were able to swim. The host was very responsive and check-in/checkout was easy and smooth.
