Riverview Retreat

My husband and I have a wonderful artistically refurbished house on the river with a wrap around deck & open floor plan. The master has its own deck on the water. Private access to water for fishing.. We have 2 kayaks available.There are yard games to use in the fully fenced yard. Great hiking close. There is a fire pit on the main deck and wood solo stove below. Wood is provided. Great restaurants and shopping in Peoria Heights. Everything you need for a great stay. Enjoy a glass of wine on the main deck in the evening or a cup of coffee on the upper deck to watch the sunrise over the water in the morning. Your request to book MUST include a message with information, especially if you have no reviews. MUST provide full name and address AND full names of all guests. This a a county requirement for a permit. Where are you coming from? Purpose of visit, vacation or visiting friends, relatives. Have you used VRBO before? If there is no message your request will be denied. Please read the house rules and confirm you have read when you message.

The house was wonderful! We loved staying here! The only suggestion for improvement would be adding blackout curtains in the downstairs bedroom.

Sisters in Law retreat. Beautiful comfortable and unique home to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunrises each morning. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfy. Kim was available when we needed her. You have lots of choices for outdoor fun. We would rent again if we are in the area.

Pictures cant fully show the design and beauty of this property! Kim is an awesome person to deal with and would definitely recommend her to anyone. Very peaceful area to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the river. Not too far from the city and was a perfect fit for my families needs. The living spaces are very comfortable and the outside areas were the same.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice and we enjoyed all of the different furnishings and art. One of the ladies wanted to go kayaking so this was perfect. We also enjoyed the hot tub. The home was well equipped and had everything we needed. Owner was very responsive

Outside The Box

We have gone on a girl's trip for 25 years. When I first saw this lake house, I thought, "this isn't us". But I kept going back to it for some reason. The moment we stepped in the door, we knew. It was amazing! The decor made me feel like I was inside a Pier One Import's store. From room to room, all the touches to this house are beautifully placed. The area is quiet, close to anything you might need. Castaways up the road is a fantastic place to eat! We stepped outside the box this year, and you didn't disappoint Kim! The Riverview Retreat was just what we needed!

Family trip

This property is my absolute favorite of any I have rented to date. Everywhere you look is a detail that is so unique, and there a lot of them!! Everthing was clean and ready for us. I cannot wait to take a girls trip and go back!!

This place has everything you need for a weekend away. Solo Stove, plates, bowls, Alexa, 150 places to sit, air fryer, 3 coffee makers. They thought of everything!

Pre Thanksgiving get together

We celebrated with our 100 year old Mom, our 2024 pre Thanksgiving dinner. Doing our stay we also had Molly’s pizza, dinner at Sweetwater restaurant and visited Tanners Orchard We sat in the sun on the deck and watch the sunset, did some fishing, used the hot tub and went for walks. Our stay in a very uniquely decorated house was excellent. Kim, our hostess was always connected to making sure we were comfortable

Amazing Sunrise Views!!

Will absolutely recommend and rent again! Excellent location, views are fantanstic! Excellent communication with owner (they were right across the street continuing their tiny home build...Soo cool) We could not get enough of the back decks! The wind will pick up so make sure u have a jacket :) The decor in this house was amazing. You will see something new each tike you enter a a room Weekend!!

Perfect Getaway

We were looking for a quick end-of-summer getaway for our family and the Riverview Retreat did not disappoint. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 and our dog loved the fenced-in yard. The HyVee with Tesla Superchargers was a quick 20-minute drive and made it easy to charge up the car while picking up essentials. We found plenty of quick trips to local museums and gardens, plus lots of options for dining out. We took the kayaks out on the water which was relatively calm even with recent storms and the lake area was only 5 feet deep as far as we went out so easy for the kids. We also appreciated the completely reasonable cleanup requests from the host -- no need to repaint the house and cook dinner for the next guest here lol. We would definitely return in the future if the opportunity comes up, especially since we didn't get a chance to try the hot tub!

We are Kim and David Russell. We are parents to many and grandparents to many. We also have our 4 doodles who allow us to live with them. We work hard and love to travel. I love hosting and will only provide a space that I would enjoyed I were traveling. I work hard to make sure you have the cleanest and most relaxing environment as well as fun items to enjoy
.bikes, kayaks, yard games. Please come and enjoy this unique creative space we worked so hard on.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I’ve owned the house since 1995 with my first husband. He passed in 2015. The property needed a lot of help. I tend to be artistically inclined and drawn to the eclectic things you can do to bring old to new again. My current husband is a work horse and up for anything so if I had a vision of what I wanted he worked with me. I also have great artistic friends. The house became what I knew it could be and hopefully you will enjoy it. Come and relax, sit on the decks by the water, use the kayaks and bicycles provided. Yard games also and the yard is fully fenced. I am pet friendly for the well behaved pups. I July ask that waste be picked up and they not be left alone uncrated if you leave the house. I’ve provided a crate.
