Farm house at the Peach Orchard in Mtns - Pet Friendly
Beautiful farm home in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the base of historic Scull (Skull) Camp Mountain and next to a beautiful peach orchard. Pet friendly. 4 miles off I 77. A peaceful environment with solitude and yet easy access to I-77 and amenities such as numerous restaurants - the best of both worlds. In a step back in time the home is bordered by fields and hundreds of acres of forested mountain land. Ten miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Twelve miles from the original "Mayberry" (Mt. Airy) with lots of tours, restaurants, shopping. Within 30 minutes to several vineyards, including 4 miles to Round Peak vineyard and 14 miles to Shelton vineyard. Birdwatching stations. Amenities include high speed fiber optics internet. The upstairs "loft" is a fun room equipped with a home theatre with projection tv.
The only bad thing was I had to leave! Such a wonderful place, great location, and lots of beautiful yard. The house was warm and inviting, and the porches, both front and back, were our favorite spots to sit and talk. Looking forward to this being a regular place to stay!
What a wonderful weekend with our family for a quick Christmas getaway. It was the perfect setting and the cutest farmhouse. Wonderful memories made and we will definitely be back
I was so impressed with the quietness and homeiness of the home. I have stayed there before and that is why I booked it again. This place is great for one or family! The owners are wonderful people who really care about your stay with them and seek to please you in every way.
This farmhouse is precious! Most peaceful relaxing trip we have had with our parents who are in their 80âs!! Enjoyed the downtown tours shopping and eating! Best was going back to the farmhouse and sitting on the great front porch!
We were looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax and this is the perfect place! So peaceful and the hosts were very nice to deal with. We will definitely be coming back!!
We loved everything about the property and the hosts - Ernie and Sarah were as good as it gets. Loved the location and amenities and felt like a "home-away-from-home". Spacious areas and the outdoor fire pit is exactly what you want to come back to after a long day exploring the area.
Would absolutely stay here again in the future....thank you both for making this getaway weekend so special!
Early morning & evening porch time surround by beautiful farmland followed by lots of fresh peaches!! Made for a perfect setting and time at this VRBO. Thank you for all your recommendations for eating out and sites around town. Highly recommend this beautiful inside & outside and clean vacation spot. Thank you for being such great host!!
This was our second stay here! I donât know how to describe the feeling we get when we pull into the driveway except to say it feels like coming home. Thereâs a sense of peace and comfort that you feel immediately. It feels like youâve come to your grandmotherâs! I highly recommend this home if you need to slow down and relax! Itâs close enough to town to be able to go do the touristy things, but out in the country enough to just simply chill out and relax! The owner, Ernie, is so nice and friendly too! We will be back on our next girls trip!
This charming old farmhouse was wonderful! It reminded us of our beloved Nanny's house! Everything was comfortable and clean. We loved the twinkling lights in the kitchen. The view and landscaping was gorgeous!! Ernie and Sarah were very nice and friendly. We enjoyed talking to them. The front porch was large and inviting and we enjoyed just sitting out there talking and laughing as a family - my almost 91 year old Mama and my two sisters! It was peaceful and relaxing. My sister said when she walked in the door her stress just disappeared. We can't wait to return!!!
Very nice old farmhouse, with a lot of property. Quaint & updated enough, without sacrificing the charm! Owner was very nice & friendly when he came by to water the outdoor plants. Would probably pla to stay there again if we go to Mayberry Days.
Wonderful stay, amazing hosts, and a lovely house and property! We will definitely be planning another trip back to the farmhouse in the spring. Thank you, Ernie and Sarah!
Charming little farmhouse, absolutely adorable! Will definitely return first chance I get.And the owner Ernest was the nicest person, said it used to be his grandmother's house how sweet!Really enjoyed sitting on the front porch early in the mornings
This is a quiet and secluded property run by a friendly couple. It was clean and you can tell the owner take pride in their property. I needed to do some light cooking everyday to prep meals for our older infant. Their kitchen was stocked with all the things needed. They even had pods for the dish washer!! We enjoyed watching deer graze in the orchard from the back yard one evening. Staying in a 100 year home is such a a great way to experience Mt Airy âMayberryâ
