Another amazing anniversary getaway. Chuck and Verla are the best, very welcoming and friendly. The little gifts and personal touches made our trip that much more memerable. Cant wait to do it again

Property was extremely well maintained. Property was better than depicted in the pictures. Managers though close by stayed away allowing for a completely private experience. Managers went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be.

The hosts of this property were the most accommodating and welcoming hosts I've ever met -- extremely friendly, added personal touches in preparation for our arrival, and made it clear to us that they were always available if we needed anything. The property itself was extremely well-kept and well stocked (even minor things like toiletries were available, which was a first in my experience). It was quiet and peaceful, comfortable, and there was a wide array of amenities both inside and outside, as advertised. We'd absolutely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at the “R” Hidden Gem. My wife and I stayed for a peaceful, romantic getaway from city life. Mission accomplished. The accommodations were fantastic. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire pit, hot tubbing under the stars, napping in the hammocks, and working on our short game on the putting green. When I choose a Vrbo place to stay, cleanliness is always high on my list. This cleanliness of the Hidden Gem was off the charts-cleanest I’ve ever seen. The beds were very comfortable. The climate control was perfect, and the small kitchen had everything you need. As for the hosts, the reviews don’t lie. Verla and Chuck were the best. They met us when we arrived to explain everything about the property. After that, they leave you alone to enjoy yourself. They are fully available, should you need ANYTHING - which we didn’t. Verla provided some very special keepsakes when we arrived. Everything you could possibly need for your stay is provided. I tried finding something they overlooked, but I was stumped. This place truly is a gem. Selfishly, I’m reluctant to give such a grave review, because I fear it will be hard to come back if people find out this special place. Nonetheless, the hosts need to be rewarded for such excellence. We had a great weekend and look forward to returning. Thanks Verla and Chuck!

The perfect getaway

This is our favorite place to stay in Big Bear when we can get away without kids. It is clean and cozy. It is stocked with all you can want and the attention to detail is second to none! Verla and Chuck are so sweet and accommodating.

Anniversary Celebration-

Verla and Chuck made this wedding anniversary celebration of our fourty three years together so special. We have never been to Big Bear before and we wanted a place to relax but also have some fun as well. This place is so much more then what we expected. So clean and beautifully decorated. If you have any questions or concerns Verla and Chuck are close enough to take care of your questions or concerns but far enough away where you feel you are completely nestled away in the beautiful mountains of Big Bear. Amazing Peaceful Weekend

The listing had it spot on! I booked to have a romantic weekend with my girlfriend. It did not disappoint! It was private with great amenities and a spectacular view of trees, birds and sky.

Best Stay Ever

You’re not going to find a better place for two in Big Bear. The hosts are welcoming, super responsive, and excellent at getting all the details right. The cabin is immaculate and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. It’s secluded and very quiet, perfect for a romantic getaway. The hot tub was clean and extra relaxing. Location is close to everything Big Bear offers. We highly recommend “R” Hidden Gem!

A little piece of Heaven

Chuck and Verla were awesome hosts. They personalized the cabin which made feel even more homey than it already felt. It was the perfect weekend getaway. It allowed us to relax and enjoy all the beauty around us. We will definitely be returning again soon.

Relaxing weekend

Chuck & Verla’s Hidden Gem was amazing, adorable, and picture perfect. Spic n span clean, everything you could need, home away from home, and perfectly snuggled in beautiful Big Bear mountain. It was such a treat to stay at the Gem. Will book in the future. Chuck and Verla were such gracious hosts and was such a pleasure to meet them.

June Gloom Getaway

It was a lovely drive from San Diego to Big Bear to get out of the fog and into the clear fresh air of Big Bear. The house was clean and well organized. It had everything you would need for an overnight to a week long stay. The location was perfect for going into town, walking around the lake or just relaxing at the house .

Amazing!

We stayed two nights and if I could give it 10 stars I would. Chuck and Verla are the nicest couple with the cutest place. New, EXTREMELY CLEAN (cleanest place we've stayed in 25 years of rentals). So many extra amenities and comforts for your stay. If you hate "noisy places" from fans and A/C's, etc, book this hidden gem, all the things on the inside and outside are quiet! I hope we return, but book it and enjoy!

Perfect in all aspects!!

This is nothing shy of a “hidden gem!” It is quiet, private, and secluded, but it’s also conveniently located and minutes from the lake, village, slopes. It’s a perfect rental that feels like home away from home! Chuck & Verla thought of so many special details with photos of us & our dog, and she brought us the most delicious, warm cinnamon roll the morning of our departure. We’re excited to return during the summer to enjoy all this beautiful place has to offer!!

Perfect Getaway

“R” Hidden Gem is the perfect couples getaway cabin. Just off the main road, the cabin sits nestled at the base of a little hill ensuring privacy and stillness, minus the sounds of nature 😁 The property was modern, yet had the rustic feel of an old cabin in the woods. The perfect amount of amenities to make your meals throughout the day, but close enough to the village to easily go and grab a bite to eat. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. Definitely made us feel at home like family and less like guests. Highly recommend this property to anyone or couple looking for a peaceful and romantic getaway close to nature.

The Perfect Romantic Hideaway

Beautiful, cozy, private, and well accommodated. Easily the best vacation experience I've ever had. Chuck and Verla were an absolute delight to meet and ensured our stay was just perfect all around. Romantic Getaway & Relaxation!

Would give the property AND the Hosts 10 STAR if allowed! This was our first time to Big Bear and our first time not staying in a hotel! Chuck and Verla go the extra mile by adding personal touches to the home and having so many options to choose from. The home is immaculate and perfect for 2 adults who wanna "getaway" from the city life! Thank you from the bottim if our hearts to the most amazing hostesses in the business!!! We love the Lord, enjoy being with family and friends and are proud of raising a large family. Hosting is our passion and we look forward to making your experience at our place a memorable one !

This location is in a fun and bustling area, close to the main hub of the lake (Bike pedal path). You can hike, bike, or fish along the lakeside while you gaze at wildlife and views that will take your breath away. Two ski resorts are visible along with spectacular views of the mountain vistas and clear blue skies. It’s a fun place to meet other visitors or simply put on your headphones, set your playlist and ride or stroll to your tunes. You will truly enjoy this in the morning especially if you’re an early riser and desire peace and solitude.
