3 Bedroom house with full wet bar on the first floor, perfect for entertaining. Maritime decor includes actual ship's wheels and other artifacts. Updated in 2023 with redesigned bathroom upstairs that allows for independent use of the new shower room, toilet room and double-sink vanity. Hardwood floors throughout. Front door entry into sun porch. Sunny back deck leads to large yard with tree shade and roomy outdoor shower. Basement with washer/dryer. Great location downtown off Thames Street behind Seasons Gas and Corner Market, in between Zelda's and Vieste restaurants and new coffee house. Walking distance to the water, parks, shops and historic mansions. 2 off street parking spaces and 1 overnight street pass.
I spent the month of August at the property. The location can't be beat - walking distance to all of Thames St., the mansions, and the harbor. Parking for one car was easy. The second car was a little tight, but after a few days, we figured out how to navigate the driveway. The house is clean and well laid out. The owner was communicative and we were able to navigate a few minor glitches well. I would absolutely return.
I lived in this house for a decade and loved it. I was younger back then so it was great to stumble home from the Newport night life! And wonderful to just walk out the door for breakfast or for shopping. My guests loved that convenience.
No need to really drive anywhere. Seasons Corner Market has everything, and all the bars, restaurants, cafes and shops are right there. Short bike trip to Bailey's Beach. I used to drop off guests by car, not pay for parking, then hop on my bike and join them and then return to get the car. The Elms Mansion is behind it. It's just a great location.
The bar downstairs will remind you of walking into the old Zelda's, if you are familiar. With it's nautical and bar decor, I named it Captain's Quarters for that reason.
